The color selection in wide sizes is too limited. Want an 8 wide in a dark or neutral color. Love my Torin 5 and have worn them out. Looking forward to the extra cushioning on the 7!

I over pronate in one ankle and had a reconstruction on a different ankle. I had the altra paradigm and liked the fit and it offered a lot of cushion but hated how it was overly lifted in the stack. Felt like I was walking on a ramp at times. I tried Torin 7 and liked the balance but lost a bit of cushion. The tongue is short and sharp. Feels a tad bit too snug at 10 for my usual size 10 foot. It's still a good shoe at 3 months of wear.

I love(d) this shoe. So comfortable for my OR nursing. I bought in August and already by November the sides of shoe up by toes where it bends naturally when you walk are worn and have holes. That is my only complaint. I would order again if this didn't happen because they are like walking on clouds.

Yay for the redesigned tongue (finally!) but the heel collar had zero flexibility. Both of my ankles had cuts on the outside after running. I like the shoe overall and will try to modify the heel collar to avoid ankle injury. I prefer the original design of the early models with the foot shape and purchased a wide to get that feel. While the tongue upgrade is a definite plus, the rigid heel collar will stop any future purchases of the Torin for me. I know Altra can do better than this!

I would think these are the slim foot shape but they're not. My feet hurt running in them and it's too late to return them, although they're still practically new. The upper on the toe box is super tight and doesn't loosen up like other styles. Not a fan of these shoes at all, and I'm very sad, as pro runners I follow really recommend this style.

Trying the Torin 7 vs. the comfortable 6. Two thumbs down, the 7 kept slipping off my heel, the foot box was tight and the laces are too short.

I previously ran in the Escalante but wanted to try something that sounded a little more substantial and cushy. The Torin seemed like it would fit the bill! Overall, they have been okay so far - I've probably put 30-40 miles on them. But, the area around the ankle- yikes! Why is it so weirdly high? It hits at just the wrong spot to aggravate the ankle bones. I have to fold/double down my socks to get a bit more cushioning there and prevent the bruising.

Purchased a year ago to use for running (mixed road and trail, about 8 miles a week). I have high arches and wide feet so I like how the shoe suits my foot. Unfortunately, it only seemed to last about three months before the ankle wore down and I started to add gels and other accessories to prevent the rubbing on my ankle. I think the shoe is otherwise great, but I cannot justify buying a pair with the same price point as my usual shoe that last 12 months before I have to replace it.

First impressions: These are comfortable to walk in but feel a bit narrow especially on my big toe where oddly they come in a bit. My biggest gripe so far are the laces are too short to make a heel-lock, and it feels like without it my heels will blister against the unnecessarily high heel fabric in the back. Get rid of that, make the laces longer, go back to the original foot shape and it would be a better shoe.

Walked initially before running in them. I really liked them. However, I returned them cause during a 6k, my shoes slightly clicked together 5x. Too much curve on the toe area. Hi-risk for tripping.

I have been a devoted Altra customer for many years but I find that now I can only buy the original - not the regular and certainly not the slim as they both are narrow and take away some of the best aspect of the original last: the roomy box-toe. Why do you all keep trying a fix things that are not broken and in the process downgrade the quality of your product. You used to sell such consistantly good roomy but very well fitting running shoes and now it is very much hit or miss. Seems like you are trying to copy companies and other shoes instead of making yours continue to be top quality.

I love these shoes but the tightness of the knit top has caused blisters and numbness I haven't seen in years. Please bring back a mesh option.

I walk a lot in my job and yes these shoes are comfortable. However after only 2 months of wear they already have holes in them where the foot bends. I would think these shoes would be of better quality than that with the pricing.

Bought Torins twice size 9W, but not this year. Wides are offered in only 1 color, so it should be a neutral, not BRIGHT BLUE. Women wearing this wide a shoe do not want to call attention to feet!

Wel I am finally giving up on altra . Been a huge fan in the past until Altra continued making unwelcome changes. These have stiff upper almost cardboard feel with no flexibility. Have switched to Hoka Clifton and Arahi. Happy feet again. Goodbye Altra.

I had high hopes for Torin 7 because they finally fixed the tungue issue. These shoes had a softer and thicker sole, which I really liked and it weighs slightly less than Torin 6, which I also liked, but I agree with the previous reviewer that they changed the toe box in in an odd way that did not work for me. I like the way the slightly narrower toe box looks, but the shape did not work for me because I have a tailer's bunion on my left foot. Also, Torin 7 does not have elastic shoe laces, which made the shoes less comfortable to wear.

These shoes felt very expensive to me, and they really lasted almost no time at all. The whole bottom ripped off after only wearing them sparingly for about a year. I was sad to pay so much for something with such low quality :( and have loved altras in the past.

I have Torin 3 and I bought a 6 and this one. The 6 has a razor sharp tongue but otherwise okay. This shoe was too long in my normal size so I sized down. It is disappointing because it is very narrow. I love altra because of the roomy toe box but these don't have that feature. I went down a full size and it still slides some and is tight but I decided to keep them. I can wear about a day a week - I have mortons neuromas and if I wear them more it hurts. I wish you'd go back to the older design with a roomy toe box and soft tongue.

Significant change in the toe box feel from the torin 6. Really regret not buying the 6 again. Aside from the toe box no longer feeling natural, the foam feels stiffer under foot. The tongue is finally nice enough though to not dig into your ankle.

I wear an 8 in the provisions/ escalantes, so I tried an 8 in the Torins. They were way too tight - my feet were numb and tingling after running in them less than a mile. Love the colors though

I have 14.5 miles on these and cannot return them as I bought them at the beach. I usually wear size 8.5 regular women's in Provisions and Lone Peaks and size 9 women's in Paradigms. Got size 9--they hurt my feet so much, I can only run 2 miles in them without wanting to tear off the tops--so constricting. Also, the shoelaces come untied ever 3/4 of a mile, so I bought new shoelaces, which worked. They look nice on but the forefoot sole feels like it has no cushioning and compresses so I feel as if something is grinding into the soles of my footpads.

Well, after patiently awaiting a new and improved model that comes close to the Torin 4.5 Plush, I tried the 7s and sent them back. Of course, Altra had to fix the razor sharp and stiff tongue after the outcry. The new tongue is great. They changed two other things that make it entirely different from the 4.5the heel and the width/volume. The heel collar/tab is much more structured. It's higher, molded, and more rigid. If I had never fallen in love with the 4.5s, I'd probably be okay with this. But knowing what I know and loving what I love, I don't love the heel on the 7s as much. It feels overdone. The heel on the 4.5s was imperceptible when running, whereas you can feel this one and it's a bit distracting. As for the width and volumeoverall it's narrower. It now has the Standard width rather than Original width/foot shape. It most definitely feels too narrow in the midfoot and forefoot. The toe box feels less voluminous (top to bottom), so some may find their toes touching the "roof" of the shoe. Also, the cushion feels different than the 4.5s, but good. For those of us comparing this shoe to the 4.5 and earlier models, there will be some disappointment since it's an entirely different shoe. For those new to the shoe or comparing it to the 5 or 6, you will probably like, or even love, this shoe. I realize that the tongue improvement alone makes a lot of people happy, but I'm still sad about this shoe not being a closer match to the 4.5. I didn't bother trying the wide version in this model, as the only color it comes in blueand I'm still sulking. Finally, I'll say that although the colorways for this model are an improvement, Altra still needs to master colors with most of their lines. I always look at most of the colorways and can't decide if I even like them. I wish they'd offer more colored outsoles, incorporate more options with black accents, and use more on-trend colors. Final advice, just try this shoe for yourself. If you have more of a standard foot, you might like it. If you have a wide forefoot or bunions, definitely order the one color (blue) that comes in wide. The overall fit feels true to size. I wear an 8.5 and the 8.5 felt right.

So the only wide width is bright blue?! Why can't we get wide widths in black or navy or something else beside "hello, look at me!"
