The toe box had plenty of room and was really comfortable. I have higher arches and they just felt too tight across the bridge. I wanted to love them but I returned them.

I have 2 pairs of altras superior 5s and bought a pair of these this summer while they were on sale. super disappointed in the redesign. far too narrow mid foot. if you like altra 5s, dont buy this

I've been running in Altra Superiors for years. The 6 and 7 are too shallow and too narrow. Why ditch the roomy toe box? It's what we love about Altra. Also slips on the back of the ankle. Please bring the 5 style back!

I bought two pair, I wish I had read the reviews. Incredibly tight on my feet causing severe pain and my foot going numb. Altra, you are losing your niche market by your narrow redesign.

I couldn't even walk 5 min in these shoes they were way to tight on my toes. I returned them and bought another pair of Lone Peak 8. I should have never strayed from what I know works for my feet!

This shoe is beautiful to look at, but I need to be able to put my foot into it. I could not get my foot in. This is my size. There is no real tongue to the shoe. It's the strangest sneaker, think I've ever seen.

My Superior 5 was wearing out and so i bought the 7 and so so excited until I tried them on, oh my what a different feel. Way way to narrow mid foot for me. I tried the 5 on again so glove like comfy so I try the new 7 on again and so unhappy feet. Very disappointed. My 5 seemed to have more tongue flexibility this shoe has the tongue sewed in on one side and elastic on the other. Bad bad form for me.

The Altra Superior 5 was AMAZING and I'm forced to the dark corners of the internet for a fresh pair. The Superior 6 and 7 are garbage. I've put in almost 2,000 miles on my Superior 5's since 2021 or so and I LOVE THAT SHOE! Sell more to me! I just tried on the 6 and 7 in a running store and was horrified plus they no longer have the Altra Footmark on the bottom?! Bring back the Superior 5 and to be really petty make at least one half exciting color in the next version. (That isn't white-ish... hello trail running).

A Xmas gift from my husband. I had no idea one side of the tongue was attached to the shoe! Way too narrow for my regular 8-1/2 foot. Love my other Altras but these are a no go.

I've been wearing Altra Superiors for years because of the wide toebox. The Superior 6 is so narrow. Why the change, Altra? Unfortunately I have to return these shoes and look for a different option.

Please read the reviews before purchasing. I should have! I purchased the Women's Superior 6 Running shoe last month. I have another Altra pair that I LOVE in size 6.5. They fit perfectly and have a wide toe box which is the reason I purchased them in the first place. So I assumed size 6.5 in these would be perfect. But they are extremely painful around the sides of my toes. I have metatarsalga and cannot wear them. I can't return them because I wore them hoping they could be broken in. It was an expensive lesson. I will have to buy from another brand going forward.

Highly disappointed. The worst version of the superior. It's extremely narrow and uncomfortable. I couldn't return them because it was past 30 days.

I hiked the AT in the Superior 5.5s. I love them. They are the ONLY shoes I wear. I ordered these to replace my worn out 5.5s and couldn't even get my foot into them without it feeling squished.

Was so excited to get these in and wear them for my upcoming ultra in a month. Beyond disappointed that I ordered a full size up(they say true to size) and they didn't fit.

I have bought Altra running shoes exclusively for 8ish years. I was disappointed in these but didn't realize they were harming my feet so much until I was halfway through a ten mile run and the tendon across my big toe joint began searing with pain. These hurt so badly I had to use a jagged rock I found by the trail to scratch the seams out and loosen the toe box. I haven't purchased Superiors in a long time because after the 3.5 they weren't the perfect shoe for me anymore. I realize I should have tested these out in person and not just gone by the look of them, but with "foot shaped" being your whole thing I didn't think width would be the issue. I'm now having trouble wearing some of my everyday shoes, even, because of whatever these have done to cause the inflammation in my foot. Please bring back the foot shape. It's the reason I've been brand loyal for so long.
