I always struggle with swelling in the toe box during long runs, resulting in numbness in my right toes. But not with these Altras! I've never had such a positive experience from the get-go.

This shoe have ruined all other shoes for me. They are the cream of the crop, best shoe I've ever had the pleasure of running in. This is my 4th pair of Altras. I've had Torins & Provisions in my running shoe rotation for a little over a year now & weight train in Solstices. I liked my zero drop Altras, but for runs over 5 or so miles, but I need some drop to help with ankle stability once I fatigue a bit. The Altra toe box has always been my absolute favorite, but I used to lean toward Brooks for cushion & support on longer runs. Right out of the box these shoes felt so good that I ran 7 miles with no issue. The drop is JUST enough to help compensate for my lazy ankles. These shoes just feel right. I can't explain it. I only have two cons & they're insignificant. I wish there were more exciting color ways. I love bright, obnoxious shoes. Secondly, the bottom of these suckers get HOT when running on a treadmill. Not hot enough that I can feel it through the sole, but when I take them off I definitely notice. Moral of this story - TRY THIS SHOE.

71-year-old walker here - I have toe arthritis and these are wonderful. I've been wearing Olympus 4 which have more rugged soles, but are a bit too flat. The Altra FWD hits the sweet spot for roads and smooth terrain; it is slightly narrower than the Olympus but fits me well. I hope the FWD wears as well as my Olympus has done.

ordered in size 10 and had to return and go up to 10.5 as my toe touched front of shoe. Just ordered in 10.5. fingers crossed! Loved the feel of the shoe on my foot.

This is my second pair of Altras. My first pair were Escalantes. I found this brand a few years ago seeking a minimal heel drop similar to the Brooks Pure line that I was wearing (this heel drop is now much easier to find). When I saw the toe room I knew my feet would love them and they do!! I describe my (true) size 8 women's foot to a "man foot". I don't always need a wide but if a shoe runs narrow it WILL NOT work for me. And when selecting footwear to RUN in, I know I need that space!!! These Altra FWDs are so comfy! They have cushion that the Escalantes do not have. I just ordered my second pair, and out of carefull consideration, and with increased mileage as part of my training program, I went from a size 8.5 to a 9. My toe nails are feeling a tiny bit impacted now that I'm going farther but I was fine until I got to frequent 5 mile + runs. This is why I'm going to say they run a little small but it's not by much. If the 9's are too big, I will update this review.

This is the most comfortable sneaker I've ever worn. I didn't realize that a shoe could fit/feel this great. Work 12 hour shifts as a nurse and I'm only wearing these now!

Great fit, definitely love the weight of the shoe. It's lightweight and responsive when you run. The look is amazing and did I say comfortable.

I was a devout Hoka runner, but my feet never felt completely right in the shoes. Now I know why. I needed these shoes!! They're AMAZING. Like clouds on my feet. I run 40-50 miles a week, so my feet take a beating. My routine was to walk right in the door and kick off my shoes immediately. My toes were always squished (I can't tell you how many toenails I've lost). I just thought it was from running so many miles. Nope! It was my shoes. But now with these, my feet are so happy! I want to wear them all day. I'm buying a second pair. What a game-changer. Thank you, Altra!

I've been an Altra fan for a while but the last few pairs haven't been great. These feel like a return to the Torin with a drop. Used on lots of easy NYC marathon training runs and they had lots of room for my black and blue and angry toes. Looking forward to additional drop does from Altra.

I love this shoe - its super comfy and the 4mm drop is perfect!! The width is great for your toes to spread out - the only thing that I hate is that it runs 1/2 small - I had to order up! I tried on at a local store and bought on line. I do wish they had more color options to choose from but that seems to be one of the issues with this brand. I will purchase another pair for sure. If you are someone like me who like a low drop - this is for you. I walk more than run and these are super light and bouncy! Plus they are not overly huge on the foot like some shoes on the market.

I am beyond obsessed with these shoes! I walk around 6 miles a day and not once have my feet felt sore or over worked! They are light weight, roll with my foot and are incredibly comfortable!!

I have recently been running in a high drop shoe, so I was a little apprehensive to try these at first. I also have not heard much about this brand. But after trying these out, I may continue to run in low to no drop shoes. I love how the shoe is true to its name in that I always felt like I was being propelled forward by the shoe, however, the cushion is not being compromised. I also love the sides of the toolbox in the front as I didn't feel like my toes were sliding around and I had good contact with the ground. all in all, if you are new to lower drop shoes, I would recommend these.

Altra kindly gave me this shoes in return for my honest review. The first time I put them on my feet, I planned on going for a combo run/walk outside but it was raining. I wear running shoes when I work out on my elliptical, so I figured I would try them out on there while I went on a 3 mile run/hike. Someone had suggested I try Altra when I told them how other high end brands would leave the inner part of my foot bruised. They were right, the wider toe box, and the 4mm drop left my feet non bruised and happy. I was comfortable on the elliptical, and then later when I was able to try them outdoors. Going out on my street involves mainly street walking/running, but there is also some grassy terrain, I had no problem with comfort. I have never worn a sneaker with a "rocker" shape, but I have to say I could feel a "bounce" in my movements, and I am not complaining! Now I do not know if I'm going to keep wearing them primarily on my elliptical or for outside workouts. My best bet is keeping these for inside, and purchasing a pair of Altra running shoes for outside. The foam cushioning offered me the support I needed as a curvier woman and I'm looking forward to more and more workouts with my shoes. I would also like to add that I love the color combination on this shoe!

Finally a running/walking shoe with a wide toe box and chunky heal that I've been hoping for. These are so comfy, padded perfectly, and room for all my toes. I love H*kas but the toe box always made me feel squished. These have so much room for spreading and let my toes lay where they naturally want to.

I just started running and got recommended these shoes because I've had issues with feet hurting in the past. I 100% love these shoes and the people don't lie, this is the shoe for me!

The new Altra FWD Experience shoes are a bit like Hoka Clifton 8/9, but more stable, with a wider toebox, and the foam is less squishy. For me, they've been a pretty huge upgrade. I can't even go back to running in the Cliftons because my toes call out for that wide toebox. The difference is that this foam is just compression molded EVA, whereas many popular Altra shoes use their Ego foams. So far in the FWD Exp's, I've observed the following: I shaved 8 seconds off my mile time on the same track under the same conditions vs my Clifton 8's. I'm less tired after runs. I can midfoot/toe strike again. It's totally natural, and the heel doesn't get in the way. The drop lets you toe strike or heel strike. I almost can't overstride if I try. Even if I do, the heel strike has a very gradual roll, so I don't get the hard transition that most shoes give me. This is one of the first rocker soled shoes I've ever loved.

As a nurse working 12+ hours my feet take a beating. These are probably one of the most comfortable, supportive shoes I've ever tried. Highly recommend for running, I no longer get shin splints! Will definitely be repurchasing!

I am a new runner and it was such a great coincidence that Bzzagent sent me this pair of shoes to review. It was truly soft and comfortable to wear, especially on the run. I used to have trouble with other shoes coz it hurts my heals a lot. Altra FWD was a whole lot difference. It was gentle to my heal, my feet and it feels light. It helps me want to exercise more frequently. It also looks stylish. I received lots of compliments when styling it with my sporty outfits. Omg I just love ittttt!!!!

Thank you Altra for sending me a free sample of these tennis shoes! When I took these shoes out of the box, I could not believe how light weight they were! I have used these shoes consistently for a month for jogging and walking, and I would highly recommend them. I have high arches and didn't need to use my inserts, that is a win! Also love the color and how the shoes look. I received many compliments!

These are a perfect balance for me. I'm used to running in a sneakers with a more narrow toe box which I learned is no longer good for my feet. These have a nice sized toe box and are not overly big. My feet feel way better after long runs. These have the perfect amount of cushion for me. Also, I my previous fav shoes have a low drop so these are right up my alley. These altras check all the boxes for me. Comfort, the right amount of cushion, low drop, room for your toes to spread out (lol) and most importantly my feet and body feel good after. I'd recommend these to my running buddies for sure.

I love, love, love Altra and have run in the Torin (the 5 and 6 were terrible but redeemed with the 7) for years! I would love to try these new running shoes but WHITE will be dirty after my first outdoor run! Please Altra make shoes in fun colors that won't show dirt and grime from the outdoor elements! Like many runners, I run exclusively outdoors and could never wear a white shoe. I love the orange/pink but it's not available at stores and sold out on Altra website.

First of all the colors are pretty! Easy to put on, and once your feet are in the shoes fit like a glove. They are very comfortable, feel foamy, and are perfect for an all day at work or school. I highly recommend them!!

These are awesome running sneakers! They are so comfortable & very stylish looking as well. I am personally not used to a rocker type shoe, so that took a little for me to get used to, but I really like it now. It really helps my run (well jog game. haha) I can wear these for walking as well & they feel so comfortable. Really great quality all around & the toe area is not narrow & cramped. Really nice shoes & already recommended to a runner friend. I received these shoes as part of a campaign, but my review is my own honest opinions. Definitely try them out.

I love these shoes! They are so comfortable. At first I thought they were too wide in the toebox, but it is actually great for running and jumping. There is less support in the toe, but I actually like it. I normally wear on clouds but these have much more cushion and support. I got the product for free in exchange for writing the review but I would definitely buy and recommend to friends!
