I work in the adventure tourism industry. The Arcteryx Alpha Jacket is amazing, I wear it in so many mountain-weather conditions and it always performs perfectly. It regulates my body temperature when I travel up hill and then down. No need to remove a coat and then put them back on. It retains insulation value if wet and dries fast, like I said, amazing.
Also, it is stylish enough to wear as a casual jacket.

extremely breathable and saves packing a windbreaker in the summer.Due to the boxy fit. I would recommend trying on for size before purchasing, I'm 6'1" and just short of 15 st and I found that a woman's XL was a better fit for me than my usual size in other brands a men's L for a winter jacket to fit a number of bulky layers underneath but for a summer jacket that I won't be wearing as many layers underneath a men's M was the perfect fit, as for the waterproofing the alpha is absolutely bombproof and the added bonus of the storm hood means I still have a great field of view even when cinched tight to block the rain and snow. Still a 5 star jacket despite the sizing issues considering it is a climbing orientated jacket however it also makes for a great running jacket if you size down due to how light and breathable it is

Great jacket! Bought for skiing, cycling to work and just keeping the rain/snow out. Arcteryx never fails!

This is Alpha AR. There's already SV, LT, and SL/IS. You don't need to bend over backwards for the East London hipsters whose Salomons have only touched coffee-shop floors. Stop renaming solid, well-defined product lines into vague "XXXX Lightweight Jacket" nonsense. Those original names existed for a reasonthey made it immediately clear what the gear was built to do. Enough with the needless rebranding.

This jacket strikes a perfect balance between lightweight, durability and functionality.
And it is really nice to wear.

Absolutely amazing jacket! So pleased with it. Perfect as a replacement of a 10 year old Alpha SL model which needed an upgrade.

I recently got this shell jacket and let me tell you it's great. I got the LT vitality/ black, (the blue and black one). I am 5'7 and weigh 152 ish pounds and the jacket fits a bit long but that's normal for a rain jacket/shell jacket. The sleeves go past my fingers, from the top of my shoulder to my wrist is about 23 inches. I use the wrist velcro strap to make the sleeves shorter and it works perfectly. The jacket falls below my waist a decent bit but 1 big fold makes it perfect. I can fit a hoodie under it no problem with it folded or not and being able to tighten it at the bottom is also very helpful. The color really pops in light and you can really wear it anywhere. It has kept me warm the winter/rain but it's also very thin so I can wear it in hotter settings.

I love this shell for absolutely everything, from a rainy day in the city to shredding the backcountry. The pocket positioning is great for using in tandem with a harness.

Pretty early still, as I only got it 3 weeks ago, but this is a great jacket to stuff in the bottom of your everyday bag, and have for an emergency rain. Sure it's pricey and meant for climbing but the construction makes it extra light and packable. The pit zips and hadron make it versatile. I wear it biking, hiking, and just walking around town. Lack of hand pockets is 100% understandable due to its intended purpose, and is also a plus when using a backpack with hip straps. The two tone black is unique compared to most other jackets in the Arc'teryx lineup. Very nice jacket

Best jacket bullet proof against the weather conditions hand down and I love how well it's packs away.

The jacket does what it's built for, it's extremely weatherproof, lightweight, packs into nothing, has the right amount of features. The hood is superb when worn with a helmet, it still allows great movement range and visibility, this hood design is something i ended up looking for in other brands jacket and very rarely found something similar.

I like the new color. Alpha jacket is comfortable to wear. I usually wear women size S-M, however I found Men size S is way better than women size for me. I used it on my Kili summit, no issues at all.

After 10 years of use the alpha jacket is my favorite. I used it heavily for alpine skiing in all kinds of weather. The light weight of the jacket was very important to me. I just received the new alpha jacket and the 13 ounce weight is perfect. I love the new material in this version. I've been wearing arcteryx outer shells ( alpha LT and alpha sv) since 1989 and they are the best.

Great lightweight full feature jacket! Weird sizing though, size down from old Arcteryx sizing. Used to be a medium and have been working out for ice season, and am now a small for their shell jackets. Seems to be a baggier city centered fit instead of athletic alpine. Otherwise high quality material and just the feature you need.

I love Arcteryx products. This is literally my go to brand. Warranty process has gotten significantly harder, so if anything happens to my jackets I will have to worry about that then. I loved it when you could send in your jacket and they would repair/replace it. Especially if it was a manufacturer defect. No longer the case. But Im glad the brand is thriving and growing. However, I may have to think twice about wearing a jacket for its built intention. I dont work my gear out hard and take great care and do proper washes, per Arcteryx instructions. Only time will tell how things will pan out. Hope this honest review helps.

I got the alpha AR last winter and it's worth the money, not only is the jacket waterproof, it also serves as a breathable outer layer. I've gone backcountry skiing, and even after a whole day I didn't get wet. Plus it looks pretty sick

I contacted you guys with a product I purchased a few years back that had malfunctioned. With tremendous efficiency I was guided through the process of exchange. To see a company stand behind the product with a new replacement is reassuring and refreshing. An outstanding guarantee fulfilled with personal service. The product arrived with speed and I am thoroughly impressed with a company that means business...Thank you!

Had this jacket for years. Might be the LT version. Love the breathability. Make sure to maintain the DWR to ensure beading and breathability. More durable than I expected.

Purchased three months ago and worn almost every day, this jacket has come with me for ice skating, ice climbing, backcountry skiing and hike guiding. Living in the Rockies and mostly participating in activities that are high cardio output, I hadn't incorporated GORE-TEX layering into my approach until getting this jacket. Now it is my go-to in combination with the Atom for most conditions. Great combination of durability and lightweight with the Hadron face fabric. Lightweight enough to be worth packing even if you don't plan to wear it and adds a ton of protection from the wind and elements if conditions change.

Have used this jacket on several trips in the Canadian Rockies as a mountaineering and ski jacket. During the windiest, most grumble-inducing weather, it's kept out the worst of the elements. Works well within a layering system provided the other pieces are breathable. Due to the focus on keeping the elements out, it tends to keep things in well as well; requiring a different jacket for warmer weather. Don't expect it to pack all the way down being a goretex jacket, but for higher alpine it's worth packing.

I have been wearing the Alpha jacket for a few months now and have been impressed with its construction and performance in wet conditions. I was in between sizes and chose the larger size, and I've been glad I did as it has made it easy to layer over and keep full range of motion. The chest pockets have room for a lot of storage (I've carried a 32 oz bottle in mine a couple of times), but their position high on the chest is worth noting if you are used to putting your hands in jacket pockets. I can't yet speak to its long term durability, but its hearty construction leads me to think it will last for at least many years with good care. Opening the underarm zippers has been nice during times that I have been exercising without wanting to de-layer.

When hadron first came out in spring 2022 I was surprised by the weight of this fabric, a 20 denier nylon just seems too light for a "durable" shell. My curiosity was at an all time high so I pulled the trigger on the Beta LT Hadron, (a similar piece with a slightly different fit and feature set). I used it for a while and truly loved it. The garment was breathable, and because I live and play in the bow valley it spent most of its time in the bottom of my pack. (we hardly get rain)
So when I saw that the Alpha was now available with Hadron I had to give it a go. So far I am very impressed by the construction and I really like the fit too. Slighly more relaxed than my Beta LT hadron and accomodates layers better. I will use this more in the FW and keep my Beta LT hadron for SS use.
