Reinforced Durability: The Alpha Jacket boasts reinforced hood, shoulders, and forearms with GORE-TEX PRO Most Rugged, ensuring unmatched durability in high-wear areas for enduring alpine challenges. This keeps you even more dry up top. I love this about the product as it gives it a lot more strength. Breathable Construction: Designed with alpine realities in mind, the Alpha Jacket prioritises breathability, allowing wearers to stay comfortable during intense activities and variable weather conditions. It also has vents on the side to aid this. Lightweight Performance: Shedding grams without compromising on strength, the use of ultralight GORE-TEX with Hadron face fabric zones makes the Alpha Jacket exceptionally lightweight, facilitating agile movement in challenging terrains. Durable Versatility: Striking a perfect balance, the Alpha Jacket is not just lightweight but impressively durable, making it a versatile choice for alpine enthusiasts who demand peak performance from their gear. Although haven't yet used it in alpine conditions yet.

I used to fit in a Arcteryx regular cut small. Bummed as the new sizing leaves me without a size that fits. Medium is too big and small is too small. The only shells that will fit me now are the medium beta lt fitted, which are still a little broad in the shoulders. Its replacement the beta lightweight Medium, which is its replacement is now too big. I'm a 38/39 chest with very narrow shoulders.

Great coat! Super pleased to get one! Have an SV, but like the Alpha M for the new color and weight. Not quite as rugged as the SV but lighter and more flexible. Looking forward to putting it through some paces this winter.

Got this jacket a few weeks ago and have used it in extensive rain, wind, and now some snow. It has held up wonderfully and still repels water like it did brand new. The fit is excellent but a little roomy. The hood is amazing as I can wear it with a ski, mtb, or climbing helmet and it fits perfectly. Insanely clean look as well.

Gorgeous jacket. 'Love the new colors (I got the yellow/black sapphire, which is kind of like a dark navy blue). Fit is roomy (thank goodness), so it's not exactly a snug fit over a t-shirt or lightweight long-sleeved shirt, but when you put this on over a Proton jacket, down vest, or other insulating layer, the fit is perfect. For me (who is short) I found the sleeves a tad long, but that doesn't bother me much at all. A quality rain jacket I look forward to seeing me through many mountain trips.

I brought this jacket 3 months ago and I use it all the time. It's so versatile that I can wear for all outdoor activities. Perfect for active users.

Purchased this jacket to use during my recent hike on the West Highland Way in Scotland. Rained every day of the trip, most of the time heavy rain with strong winds. This jacket kept me completely dry. Great product!

Bombproof shell for inclement weather. This jacket is durable, waterproof, and allows for good mobility. Couldn't be better.

I bought this jacket a few years ago and it sits beside the door as my go-to for any outdoor activity. I use it for climbing, hiking, biking, or anything with windy or rainy conditions. It fits well and because of it I have purchased more Arc items such as shoes and pants to see how they go. So far have been impressed

After basically living in this jacket for 6 weeks in the Karakorum in Pakistan, I can honestly say that this is my favorite Gore-Tex jacket for climbing. It has the perfect balance between lightweight/durable, while still being fully functional and having all of the features you could want/need. 10/10!

A personal piece for mountain hikes and back up jacket for my involvement with Search and Rescue. I used it in an absolute deluge on the Juan de Fuca today. Bone dry! The lightweight material although brand new, was amazing.

Great jacket all around. The hood and pockets are really good. The colour combination Arctic Silk / Solitude is excellent. Only downside is that black zipper which cuts the jacket half and looks stupid. The zippers should be same colour as the jacket. And it wouldn't hurt to make those hood adjustment cordstrings same colour as the jacket. It all would make the jacket better looking.

Everything is perfect about this jacket except for the length of the torso. When I ice climb the jacket pops out of my harness quite often when I reach up. It is mainly in the front where the hem makes it is shorter there than the back. Can Arc' either make the jacket have no hem or make a tall version or make the regular sizes have a longer torso please.

I've had this jacket for a few years now and it has been great. It is of normal Arcteryx quality and is very waterproof. For how light it is I have found it to be very durable. It took me a bit to get used to the front pockets location but it makes sense for use with a harness.

Sweet jacket for ice climbing. Keeps you nice and dry without limiting range of motion. 4 starts only because it is so expensive.

Purchased this as an everyday shell - aesthetically I love the colorblocking, one of the best executions I've seen from a design standpoint. Unfortunately I had to return it as the sleeves were way too long for everyday use (I am 5'9 with a normal wingspan and the sleeves went past the tips of my fingers)

Perfect design for lightweight. But the colors are disaster ... I hope there are more bright single color options come out in the future.

Alpha SV jacket made in Canada. Unfortunately the glue used to bond the forested to the outer shell isn't what it used to be and is causing premature separation in under 2 years of normal use with regular Nikwax washes.

For pure ice climbing or walking in the snow/rain I'm sure this jacket is great. However, for Scottish mixed climbing or any activity in which it is likely to come into contact with rock it's useless. 1 day of Scottish mixed and it had multiple nicks and tears from where it had brushed on coarse granite. I ended up using my old beta jacket for the remainder of the trip and this withstood anything I could do to it. The Alpha is a lovely looking jacket but with shocking durability.

Arc'teryx claim that their products are designed for long life and durability. This is incorrect. Following a pair of ski pants and another jacket, this jacket is the third Arc'teryx iproduct that literally falls apart because the the inferior glue they used. My local dealer was ready to sell me another tube with glue for home repair. I bought Arc'teryx together with other brands so that I could to switch and mix so that the garments would last. No other brand falls apart except for Arc'teryx. For some reason I can not attache pictures. I can not recommend this brand.

Bought this XL jacket online. Body is perfect fit but sleeves are two inches too long! (and I have long arms). If you look at the model wearing size M, notice how bunched up the sleeves are at the wrist. No alternative but to return for refund, and I loved the black/yellow color and the functionality of this jacket!
