I'm pleasantly surprised by how warm this jacket is given its light weight. I've owned it for several weeks and have worn it with a light base layer in 30-35 degrees F with 5-25 mph winds and am very warm. I bought this jacket with the intention of being comfortable in temperatures between 15-40 degrees F in both windy and rainy conditions as a mid layer using a Beta shell for rain and a fleece base for additional warmth, if needed. Haven't had the opportunity to test the rain or freezing temperatures with the layering system yet but I believe the Atom Heavyweight is going to be the perfect mid layer. I'm 5 10 and 155 lbs with a 30 in waist. I purchased a M which fits nicely. Some reviewers have complained the midsection is too baggy in the revised model. I also own a 2018 Atom LT in size S which also fits perfectly. I agree the revised sizing is less fitted. However, I want a bit of extra room in the heavyweight so I'm able to layer it for below freezing temperatures. I prefer the Atom LT to be fitted because I'm not going to layer it. Speaking of sizing and layering, I would not size up to a L Beta shell if you wear a M Atom. I tried it and the arms were so long I could not see my fingertips. Also the S Kyanite light fleece works well under the M Atom. I've also read some reviews critical of the revised heavyweight model in terms of qualityfabric, fit, zipper, hood. Compared to my 2018 Atom LT, I don't find any difference in quality. Yes, the fit is different but the purpose of the jackets is different. Im not layering an Atom LT which is intended for temps 40 plus degrees. My sales person was actually wearing an LT in the store. If your intention for buying this jacket is like mine, I'd highly recommend it.

I bought it 2 weeks ago and gave it a try up to -10C and I'm quite happy with it. Winters in Austria are quite dry but windy. So it's a solid choice. Maybe I will add another warme option and a lighter version of atom hoodie.

I have a few years old Atom AR and it is my go to jacket for most situations. It is a warm enough to wear as a stand alone layer for most of Oklahoma's winters but not so hot that it doesn't work for fringe seasons. I primarily use it as a climbing and belay jacket during the winter seasons and it has held up well to the task despite regular run-ins with sharp granite, cacti, and scrub brush.

Comfortable and lightweight. Love the stretchable band around the neck and wrists. Warm with just a tee underneath in Montana wind down to 0 degrees. Can easily layer underneath with a kyanite layer if you need warmer which I plan to do come negative temp ski season.

Veste Trs lgre et chaude, idale pour porter chaque jour. J'avais l'ancien modle plus fin au niveau de la doublure et ou j'ai d changer le zip principal au bout de 10 ans. Le combo idal prix (toujoursun peut cher) / performance.

Don't think I've ever been so impressed with a jacket. This will be my third winter wearing it now and it almost looks new. I can see it going for many more years. The warmth to weight ratio is just phenomenal. This keeps me as warm as my heavy ski jacket.

First timer here but have been very impressed with this jacket. Construction is top quality and I feel that this should be my go-to winter jacket for the next 5-10 years. All around, an A+ from Arc'teryx

Very good. My second Atom. I really like its versatility and its ability to keep me warm. Im planning to use this jacket under a 50D shell jacket this winter. The black color looks smart. Can be used for work aswell.

I'm particularly fond of the light and warm feel of this jacket. If you plan to layer it up or use it as an outer layer, I recommend sizing up. It's incredibly efficient at providing wind resistance. The hood is also a great feature.

I really like the 2024 edition of the Atom Heavyweight Hoody. The previous Atom AR was a little tight, making layering difficult. The 2024 version is perfect! Please add more colors.

I've had my atom AR for three winters now and it is my go-to around town. With this and a sweater, I hardly ever reach for my parka, even in the Montreal winter. The weatherproofing isn't the most rugged, but it'll do fine with a drizzle or light snow. I like it so much that I'm considering getting a hoody-less version.

Perfect autumn, spring jacket. I bought first this heavy version, and I had to buy the lightweight version as well. Feels like wearing a duvet.

Simple, warm, and decently packable. Great for cold weather in the PNW. I use it rafting, climbing, skiing, and just general use in foul weather under a shell. Great piece of kit.

An excellent simple all round jacket. Pockets are good, the hood is much better than in lighter Atom Hoody. Cuffs are simple and really good. The regular fit works well for layering. Please make this jacket with Stratus colour and Arctic Silk. Those are perfect colours for winter jackets.

I really love this jacket as it's a perfect company for my skitouring training, to keep me warm at multipole winter sports activities and it's chic for a stroll though the snowy city!
