I was right to take it .5 size smaller. It has a sturdier heel back that makes it easier to get foot in. I think it more stable than gaviota but my favorites was old and this is new so? I don't like thesilver paint on white shoe. Looks like a mistake
I'd also recommend:
gaviota hoka

I love my Stinsons. I bought them for a trip to Europe and they were phenomenal for 15,000+ steps per day for 2.5 weeks. I love the stability of the wide footbed and the plush cushioning. My only complaint is that the fabric on the inner part of the collar have holes in them after not even 6 months of wear. Kind of disappointing.

After testing the Challenger 7 GTX, Clifton 9 GTX, and Clifton 9 GTX TS, I ultimately chose the Stinson 7and I couldn't be happier. The Stinson 7 offers outstanding comfort and support, with plush cushioning. It strikes the perfect balance between softness and responsiveness, making it incredibly versatile for various activities. The Stinson 7 has quickly become my next favorite after the Bondi 8. For anyone seeking durability, comfort, and reliable all-terrain performance, the Stinson 7 is an excellent choice. I noticed slight heel slippage in my right shoe with the Stinson 7, similar to my experience with the Clifton 9 GTX TS. However, after adjusting my lacing technique to tighten the fit around the heel, the issue was resolved, resulting in a secure and comfortable fit.

Hoka was extremely fast when helping with my defect issue. They were curious, efficient and very quick. Hopefully no one has to use this scenario, but if you do, Hoka is wonderful. My replacement shoes are great and I am enjoying them. I will purchase Hoka again in the future.

One problem I have is the sides of the sneaker rub into my ankles and causes discomfort. The sneakers have a stiff rim surrounding the ankle. Despite this menacing feature I am delighted with the fit, construction and performance features on this particular sneaker. The Stinson 7 helps me enjoy both walking and hiking thru wooded terrain. The stabilized features help my pronation and the plush soles help my arthritis. They keep my feet dry while I walk thru moderate wet terrain. Overall I'm happy with the features and specs on this sneaker and willing to break in the annoying ankle fit which I am hoping fades.

I love these shoes for the comfort, but the color choices are the worst. Please make these in black. Who runs trails in white shoes? Also, something needs to be done about the inside of the heel. The fabric on my last two pairs disintegrated, making them unwearable.

My 3rd Hoka. My first 2 was Bondi 7 and 8. I have been trying to find something similar to my Bondi 7 that will give me enough room for my wide feet. Bondi 8 was a bit snug. I think this will it. I ordered my normal size 91/2 but I wish I have gotten half size smaller but I will just keep this one for convenience.

I own a bunch of these. Not as much cushion as other models, but great for hiking.

I've owned this style since version one, maybe 30 pairs at this point. They ride low enough under the ankle bone for me. As the versions have progressed, I've forgiven the less cushioning feel in the later generations and celebrated the toned down patterns and colors (they are going to end up brown anyway!), but for some reason the 7 getting rid of the hanging loop on the heel has me so sad.

I've been debating for awhile getting the Stinson 7 in Seed Green, vs getting the Challenger 7 in Forest Floor. Both really appealed to me but neither were being sold at a store near me to see in person, or try on and they looked very similar online. I ended up going with the Stinson based off website description only. My first impression when I opened the box was the color was not what I was expecting. I was hoping for an olive green color. This is like mint chocolate chip ice cream bright! When I went back to check the website, it does seem like the forest floor challenger 7 is probably the more olive shade and I guess I didn't notice this is quite bright. I almost returned them immediately just for that reason, but chose to try them on. That's when I knew these were perfect for me! So comfortable. Whether jogging on the treadmill or through trails, or just all day on my feet running errands.. I feel like I'm walking on clouds.

This shoe has firm support to make you feel confident on uneven surfaces. It is not plush, as indicated. I like it well enough to keep them, but they don't have the signature cushion of most Hoka shoes. I will add an insole to help with this

I love the colors - it is cushioned as expected. My first Hoka is the Stinson EVO. I like the EVO better, they seem a bit more sturdy and don't look as big. But, I wear both of them and they are both VERY COMFORTABLE and have helped my leg aches.

These shoes are incredibly comfortable and provide lots of cushioning. I love the colors too! My only complaint is that the heel is a little too wide for me so there is some slipping.

I LOVE the Clifton 9s but wanted something more durable for trails so I got the Stinson 7s and Challenger 7s. The Stinsons seemed to be comfier so I went with them. After one week I like them a lot! They have a very plush bottom and decent arch support. I like my Cliftons more I think because of the fit. I walk 3-4 miles daily on trails and they are very sturdy and the wide toe box helps. These do run a little big. I’m normally an 8 and the 8 in this shoe makes my foot slide just a little bit. I’ll try update after a month of use.

Quality shoe and the style and color of blue/silver was really nice and I loved the look of the shoe but the sole height is too high for my foot and there was no lateral support in the toe area. I am 65 and dealing with numerous foot problems including neuropathy causing balance issues. I need something that's not so high and closely fits my foot.

Toe box needs to be wider, and it would be great if there was better ventilation. Thanks,

These we’re comfortable. Very cushioned, but they looked like I was wearing cars on my feet. The comfort did not outweigh the style on these.

My podiatrist says Stinson is my recommended model. I do love the fit but would love more color options. All black would be great

So far so good. Hope the sole wears better than the Gaviota which totally wore down to nothing in just six months daily use.

The Stinson 7 fits differently than the 6. The arch support is much better, which means I don't need my orthotics. I wore these for about eight hours before heading to NYC and walking some 20,000+ steps per day. They did fine. Also, the soles have not broken already, which happened to my 6s.

Great shoe, felt really good everywhere except the toe box was too wide and I compensated by tightening the shoelaces. Consequently after just a mile and a half my feet went to sleep. Second time rode my bicycle and same issue, so... Not for me, I already experienced sliding foot side to side with old Scapegoat model and carefully tightening the shoelaces to almost strangle but not quite. I'm always running late because of the careful shoelacing otherwise I have to re-do. Wising up to the different models and making a better choice next time. I'm finding out that nothing replaces a good salesperson, its key; not the description online, it's a virtual reality!

I wish the back of the show wouldn’t break , exposing the top of the heal wire!! It gets painful when this happens to the point I can’t wear them anymore … but love how comfortable they are !

I really wanted these shoes to fit! They were amazingly comfortable, and they provided much needed stability for me. Unfortunately, my toe was at the end of the shoe. They aren't available in 11 1/2 or 12, so I had to return them.
