Love my other pair of Hokas and was excited to get waterproof ones but while these fit great, when I walked I felt like my foot leaned inward which was weird so I had to return.

Left shoe is fine. Right shoe rubbed against my big toe causing discomfort and irritation.

The feel of these are completely different. If these are your first pair of this line up, it would taint your image. Definitely not as comfortable, I should've returned them.

I was so excited to get these. I have the original non GTX Clifton 9's but wanted to get a black pair for work. When I saw this I thought it was the best of both worlds as I work outside a lot as well. Once arrived and tried on it didn't feel nearly as comfortable as I remember my ones being.
I tried my Clifton's on and yep, 100% different feeling. Hoka claim that it's the same support system and base, only changes being to the upper for the gortex but they just have done something because it significantly worse and more uncomfortable than the OG's.
I'm actually surprised they released them this way, at the very least they should have created a "new shoe line" and called it something different because these are not Clifton's. Don't Hoka employees try their shoes on and compare them to the models they're based off before releasing?
I also noticed that the shoe felt slightly smaller despite being the same size. It's minuscule enough that I could have gotten away with it if they felt right but at that point it just added to how much they're not true Clifton's. Length wise it was fine and the same but I noticed that the toe room was definitely lower causing the fabric to rub on and hit my toes when walking.
Now, I even put my better soles from my Clifton's into the GTX shoes and it did improve it but still had the same underlying wrongness. I even put the hoka factory soles back into my original Clifton's and they still felt better than the GTX ones that had my custom soles.
Not comparing to the original Clifton's model, this shoe isn't actually uncomfortable and I'm sure it's still good support for your feet but if you're after a GTX runner shoe specifically there's definitely better ones out there. If you're just after a running shoe, grab the OG Clifton 9's.
Just a shame, I love the rainbow sole colour and the practicality behind the GTX.

Usually I buy 8.5 in walking/running shoes from Hoka. I ordered an 8 in these and they are so big. They are wider than normal and fit like a 9 would. I’ve worn them a few times so I don’t think I can return them or I would.

bought these as a winter alternative to the Sarahi 6, which isn't available in goretex. sadly, the fit is quite different and the clifton made my feet hurt. the sole is flatter and wider; i feel all the time like i'm slipping around in them. not a good fit for me.

I have a fatter foot. It's not exactly wide but not normal either. These shoes feel tight after a couple of weeks of wearing. Almost like I still have to break them in. Not sure if it's really worth it.

These hurt my feet and they're to bulky in the front of my foot. I didn't know the GTX was gortex and these don't fit right at all. I'm going to try different ones on when I can afford another pair.

I LOVE my Clifton 9s. The support and comfort are amazing.
The new Clinton's with gorex, does not have the same support nor is the tongue the same. They also feel bigger than my originals. I wore them around the house first, then for a 3 mile walk on mixed terrain. They definitely do not have the same support system inside.
This is a big disappointment as I waited for quite some time to get them in my size. My every day walk is mixed terrain with the first part being muddy when wet, sandy when dry, then on to asphalt. Huge reason for wanting the shoe with the wet time of year being here. I will try them again for a few days and go from there. Currently, highly disappointed, even the tongue is different.

I love the Clifton 8 shoes, they are so comfortable and so supportive. I'm disappointed Hoka made changes to the fit of the 9. I went into the Hoka store to get some advice, and the guys working there told me that a lot of people try on the 9s and are disappointed. The toe box is wider so it feels too loose up there, and something about the ankle design made my ankle slightly slip out, but when I tried the smaller size it was too short and my toes hit the front. And then especially trying the goretex, it's even worse! The shoe is incredibly stiff, it feels like hard plastic. When I tied the laces tight enough to not slip out, it was super painful on the sides and tops of my feet. Just overall I don't know how anyone can run in these. I hope they go back to the Clifton 8 model in the future!

am not one of those that review products much. I'm very disappointed with my purchase. The shoe is too wide. It flaps off when I am walking or exercising. I remembered ordering the regular. At first, I thought it was my socks. I changed the socks, and it is still too wide for my feet.
The shoe is comfortable, but just not a good fit. I bought it for walking and gym. Too late to return because I wore it to the gym.
I am very disappointed. It did not work for me.

I really wanted to like these shoes. I am not impressed. At over $130/ per pair (I bought 2 pairs) I am unimpressed. Too roomy and wide. This was after I sized down. Now I have blisters on my big toe. I work in the medical field and need good, supportive shoes that last. I have not found them here.

Hoka has redesigned the Bondi shoe, and I tried to find something else. There is very little support in this shoe. I had to purchase inner soles because there was not enough cushioning. Not your fault. Hoka should have stuck with what works.

Was hoping these shoes would help with my plantar fascitis, but first, I could barely fit the orthotics in even though I ordered an extra half size up and while standing on my feet, my heel hurt worse with the shoes on then off. Very sad because I heard good things about Hoka. wish it would have worked.

Maybe it was due to the goretex coating but these shoes were so stiff and uncomfortable. I have 2 other pairs of Hoka Cliftons and they are soft, supportive and very comfortable. Too bad because I would've wanted a waterproof version.

These run big and HOKA DOES NOT offer the free returns 'NO QUESTIONS ASKED' as they advertise. Will never order from this company again. Glad to know they own UGGs too, they are also on my no buy list.

Need arch support with my orthotics to prevent fallen arches and these have zero support. My arch literally falls down while wearing these. Disappointed.
