The traction pads on the sole are coming off after 9 months of use. Granted, I use these as work shoes, so they did get a fair amount of use. However no other parts of the shoe appear worn, only the traction pads which are falling off. Warranty request declined for "normal wear and tear." Otherwise a good shoe - waterproofing actually works, comfortable, and supportive.
Disappointed,

It was too long and not wide enough or just didn’t feel too supportive for my feet.

Received these, and they are clearly refurbished shoes. These are not brand new shoes. I am getting a refund.

I've had my shoes about a month. The bottom is coming unglued causing me to trip at work. I'm a bartender and these are solely my work shoes. I take them off after my shift and baby them at home. Love the feel, but thought at the price point they'd last more than a month. I have a big group of nurses that come in and have let them know we may need to find a better shoe.

THis is an enormous shoe. I understand - I've worn other HOKAS for five years, but this shoe is so wide and so long that I have to return it.

This is my 3rd pair of Clifton's I bought these because I loved the first two so much. These are not the same sneaker. I am currently laid up with major back and hip pain from these sneakers and have had to order another pair of work shoes

Was disappointed with the shoe. Love the style, but the Clifton 9's have much more cushion feel and support , and a cheaper price.I Wish the Clifton 9's came in this color.

The colors are amazing, very comfortable is like walking in clouds, I have a few Hokas shoes already, true to size.
I love these pair but sadly it created a blister where the shoe tongue sits in my feet so I have to let them go

I really was excited about the GTX form of the Clifton 9. I currently run in Clifton's and training for my first half marathon and wanted the GTX for the waterproof options while running in the elements. Unfortunately it seems there is a design issue that just didn't allow me to wear these. The seam on the tongue was rubbing the top of my foot so bad and causing pain. I did a replacement order with another Clifton 9. Clifton's are my GO TO shoes and will buy more in the future just not the GTX.

I wear the Hoka Clifton 9, and was expecting the same fit but with the ability to keep my feet dry. That is not the case. This shoe fit much larger and wider with less support. My foot hung off the bottom as the top structure was too big and didn't provide the normal support to keep my foot on top of the cushion. Also came with some dirt on the sides.

I am a big Hoka fan. I usually buy the bondi shoes for work. This time I went with the Clifton. After wearing these for a bit at work I now have deep bruising/welts on the top of both my feet from the show tongue. There is hard material on both sides of the shoe tongue and it is causing me to limp at work. I am trying to put tape on the underside of the shoe tongue for some relief but so far nothing has worked. I am so frustrated. What a waste of money.

I normally wear the Clifton 9 W. I wanted a water repellent shoe so I ordered the Clifton GTX. It didn't come in wide but I guessed the toebox would be roomy enough. It was but the tongue on my smaller left foot was inflexible and rubbed on my ankle bone when I walked. I returned them.

I would have recommended this product as the inside is well padded but the back has no support , so i can't stand well on it and it ends up hurting my legs

This shoe was not comfortable for me. It was high on my ankles and caused pain. I tried serval times to wear and break in but my ankles hurt before I was on my feet. I've never had this problem before.

Love my other pair of Hokas and was excited to get waterproof ones but while these fit great, when I walked I felt like my foot leaned inward which was weird so I had to return.

The feel of these are completely different. If these are your first pair of this line up, it would taint your image. Definitely not as comfortable, I should've returned them.

I was so excited to get these. I have the original non GTX Clifton 9's but wanted to get a black pair for work. When I saw this I thought it was the best of both worlds as I work outside a lot as well. Once arrived and tried on it didn't feel nearly as comfortable as I remember my ones being.
I tried my Clifton's on and yep, 100% different feeling. Hoka claim that it's the same support system and base, only changes being to the upper for the gortex but they just have done something because it significantly worse and more uncomfortable than the OG's.
I'm actually surprised they released them this way, at the very least they should have created a "new shoe line" and called it something different because these are not Clifton's. Don't Hoka employees try their shoes on and compare them to the models they're based off before releasing?
I also noticed that the shoe felt slightly smaller despite being the same size. It's minuscule enough that I could have gotten away with it if they felt right but at that point it just added to how much they're not true Clifton's. Length wise it was fine and the same but I noticed that the toe room was definitely lower causing the fabric to rub on and hit my toes when walking.
Now, I even put my better soles from my Clifton's into the GTX shoes and it did improve it but still had the same underlying wrongness. I even put the hoka factory soles back into my original Clifton's and they still felt better than the GTX ones that had my custom soles.
Not comparing to the original Clifton's model, this shoe isn't actually uncomfortable and I'm sure it's still good support for your feet but if you're after a GTX runner shoe specifically there's definitely better ones out there. If you're just after a running shoe, grab the OG Clifton 9's.
Just a shame, I love the rainbow sole colour and the practicality behind the GTX.

Usually I buy 8.5 in walking/running shoes from Hoka. I ordered an 8 in these and they are so big. They are wider than normal and fit like a 9 would. I’ve worn them a few times so I don’t think I can return them or I would.

bought these as a winter alternative to the Sarahi 6, which isn't available in goretex. sadly, the fit is quite different and the clifton made my feet hurt. the sole is flatter and wider; i feel all the time like i'm slipping around in them. not a good fit for me.
