I purchased these upon a recommendation from my Doctor, who claimed HOKA trail running shoes were the best for over pronation and Plantar Fasciitis. He was right! These shoes have the best support of the many I've tried. (These are better than Brooks-Beast.) However, my Dr was also right when he mentioned their limited life span. I am several weeks into owner ship with a little under 40 walking miles (pavement and sidewalk/concrete) and the bottom soles towards the front-center show significant wear. Probably the quickest wearing sneaker I'ver ever purchased. While I understand the premium price and short lifespan for what is arguably the best-in-class supportive shoe, I'd still like to see improvements made to increase durability without compromising comfort/support.

I had the Stinson 6- most comfortable shoe I ever had. The 7- not sure what but something has changed. Not as comfortable as the previous version.

Had four (4) pair of Bondi's for walking and recreational. Recently purchased Stinson 7's. Still plush with additional stability. Love them! Will try them for golf this week

I have ordered approx. 20 pairs since 2017/18. I have a bad foot, 3 surgeries and Hoka's helped kick my body weight to arch and heal. Have been wearing Stinson's since 2019. I can't run or hike but Hoka's are what I live in indoors and outdoors.
Randomly find a color I can make work. Do not like the top heel slip in design, not sure how necessary this is for most. 2017- mid 2023 the heel was better supportin my opinion.

I heard lots of good things from colleuges who have purchased it before me, I've been told that when you wear them, you feel like you're stepping on the clouds, from the level of comfort and long standing. Well, that was not the case for me! I don't say it is not comfortable, but do not expect extra ordinary comfort! Totally depends on your previous experience.

All about this sneaker is true. Comfort, support, and style. Quality materials and construction. Just be careful on your size. Wish I had ordered a half size larger.

I hike from Mexico to Canada every year (pct) and purchase 6 pairs of Stinsons each year (37 pairs to date). Loves: cushioning is spot on. Feels hard at first, perfect after 50 miles, and lasts about 400 miles before becoming too soft. Rocker. Love the way it rolls through the stride. Tread is just about right, could be slightly more aggressive. DISLIKES: nobody's foot is shaped like that. Please, for the love of all creatures big and small, make a foot shaped Stinson, the competition is destroying you with sales of footshaped thru hiking shoes. Additionally: why can't Hoka send shoes to a post office on trail??? No General delivery to a post office?!? I need new shoes every 12 days and with modern technologies, why oh why can't they fix this problem. The new stock insoles are a brutal joke. Just put a piece of paper inside that says "insert insole here"; the old ones were better. Still buying... reluctantly

I have many Stinson's and usually find them comfortable. However, recently they are a bit lighter in weight and do not seem as comfortable. The padding is said to be ample but to me it seems a bit less. Also, for the first time the light shoe is rubbing my toe uncomfortably.

I own the Stinson 6 and 7. Although I prefer the uppers and lacing on the Stinson 6, the midsole and outsole of the 7 is far superior to the 6. The Stinson 6 midsole is so soft it was done in 3 months of just walking. The 7 provides more support and durability. They are both wide for my narrow feet. I purchased a pair of Arahi 7's in a women's 12 to get a stability shoe that was narrow enough, but it does not have near the support of the Stinson 7. Weight in a shoe is irrelevant to me, I need the support and the Stinson 7 has it. Also, the Gaviota 5 is so wide its not even a consideration.

I never had Hoka's make the top of my feet sore, these did. I gave them a rest for a couple of days and they seem to be fine now. I wish Hoka could stay with some of the solid colors they used to have like the Stinson 5 instead of trying to be as wild as they can. But I guess marketing won out. Would be nice to have a combo to satisfy both.

All Hoka shoes that I have bought are so close to being great. Far better than other brands in general. These shoes were so comfortable and checked all of the boxes for me, I wore them mainly to the office and for short walks. Basically never off-road. Then, after 3 weeks, the rubber outsole started peeling and I had to return them. I'm sure I could have glued it back easily but felt that they were too new to be dealing with that.

I have Bondi 8s. I like the Stinson better. Hey HOKA, think about making a court shoe?

For starters. So far so good! I have been running in Stinsons for a while now. Very functional all-terrain running shoes. Equal mix of tight, technical trail, plus pushing my BOB running stroller with my two youngest on the road. All-weather traction on trails is good to go, but not too off-road for the road. Smooth transition! Size 15D fit is good. I will say the 7s are a slightly more stable, and have a slightly narrower overall footprint platform than the Stinson 6s. I tend to get a lot of mileage and everyday use out of my Hokas. I literally wear the soles off of them.

Hoka Stinsons are a great shoe for backpacking. I've backpacked many trips in them and gone through two pair of these and love them. But seriously whoever is picking the shoe colors for these in their department needs to be fired. who wants a shoe that looks like a birthday cake or wine colored? just make a normal looking shoe. if you need help go check out altra or topo. returned my third pair not because there was anything wrong with them but because I couldn't see myself looking down at them for the next six months

Background: The only Hoka style I have worn the past 10 years has been the Stinson starting with original. My everyday shoe. Walks ,runs and into the office (casual). I am 5'9", 220 lbs so appreciate the extra support.
Pros:
Width good, better than last version which I returned
Comfortable
Hard sole which I think will wear less than previous soft soles (I believe this is the reason "ATR" was taken off the name)
Love the orange color
Cons:
Just not as much cushion/bounce as previous Stinsons. Previously felt like walking on pillows, this model is cushioned but not the same
Little tight on toe box from sole to top of shoe.

A really good combo for me of plush (for total knee replacements) with some structure for the sole height stability.
Strongly recommend the shoe, BUT the color schemes
(in many of the current models) are far from any desirable spectrum for me (with others unsolicited comments aligned, as mine).

Due to the structure of these i have been having issues with my knee. Initially they felt great. May need to take my time breaking them in.

Probably the first shoe I've bought from Hoka that just doesn't fit right. The tongue is shorter than the Bondi's and as a result I'm always pulling it up when i tie the laces. My fault - probably should have returned it.

Bigger Guys, Wide Feet, (Must Buy)
Pros: Everyday walking, hiking, super comfort.
Cons: Durability was good; however build quality-blah
Suggestions:
*Get rid of the laces and use Lock Laces or a cheap knock off.
*Buy Darker colors as your shoes will be dirty anyway.
Not Sure: Tread-I've struggle to have tread last as long as companies claim on Trail Runners. I cannot honestly talk about the tread as:
*My first pair was warrantied and traded into a shop on the AT.
*I didn't pay attention to my second pair-as they weren't sent in to HOKA for other reasons.
*My third pair is still unused:
Lesson Learned: These shoes are amazing with a couple flaws, I'm sure HOKA is taking in all the feedback to fix the shoes. Some companies just need to do the basics right, HOKA does that. Every piece of equipment you carry on the trail there is a trade off and nothing is perfect. That being said: Hoka has your six. They will work with you to fix the problem so don't get mad at them; just reach out to them and tell them your issue.
I will be going to the Arizona Trail next year and I'll don't know if I'd take them on the Thru Hike.
*Train here in Florida on Pavement with my third pair and whatever woods are around.
*I imagine pavement will take the tread down sooner but I'm expecting rocky, hard, clay in AZ so I need to know the tread can last as much as possible as I do track training miles.
*I really do prefer the comfort of HOKA shoes as well as the width even with minor flaws.
Thank you, Hoka!

More clunky, stiffer, and worse ground feel than the Stinson Evo. "Broke" them in over 20mi on separate runs. Used them for a chunk of a flat 12hr run. Tried them more for longer vertical training, and used them for a 50kthey still feel flat and clunky. At 85kg, breaking shoes in is normally not an issue. Some delamming around the toe box as well..maybe that's just east coast trails though. I keep trying to like them but have resigned them to daily street wear. And the occasional "maybe they'll shine today" trail jaunt. Love HOKA, hopefully they'll make the next iteration better.
