I measure a 7.5 and bought and 8 because I like to wear wool socks. The 8 was a good fit width wise but my foot slid around in it. A 7.5 would probably have been better. There is plenty of room in the toe, even with thick wool socks. I also didn't love the stiffness of the ankle, but maybe it wouldn't have felt so weird in a smaller size.

These were pretty much exactly what I had hoped for: versatile enough to wear with casual or more professional outfits, cute, comfortable and seemingly well-made ... except that I couldn't get the zipper up. I tried them on three different times, with different socks, etc. hoping for a different result. But alas, I had to send them back. :(

Ran small but when ordered up a size they were to wide

Zipper didn't work smoothly for my 80 yr old hands. Left boot was loose on my foot.

A very strange fit. Felt like I was wearing heels.

I was expecting a chunkier style - I ordered the wrong style, but very cute boot.

This shoe is narrower and a half size smaller than I expected (6.5M). The color isn't a clear tan or cognac. Wanted to keep but returning!

zipper on right shoe doesn't work

Ordered these for my daughter to wear and the zipper is difficult for her to pull up and thinking it will break before she grows out of these. Returned for the zipperless Chelsea style. Fingers crossed.

Heel and ankle were too loose in the size 11. My foot slips up and down inside. Will return. Too bad because they are VERY cute.

I'm a true 7.5 this year in all shoes/boots. I read reviews and the suggested size helper suggested 8.5. I had been waiting for these booties to go down in price and Zappos was the best. I did chat with Sorel online and they couldn't give me any information for they didn't know. So I was told get the 8.5 & return if need be. I got them tried them on and they were huge on me. I have returned them and I suggest you go with you gut and history. I was underwhelmed by the real appearance but I think I couldn't tell properly for the fit was so off. I may try a 7.5

it would be helpful if the description emphasized that these have an internal heel that's over 1 1/2 inches high. it's weird, it's not apparent from looking at the pictures, but it totally changes these boots and what you expect. this type of boot that LOOKS flat usually IS flat- if there's going to be a heel you'd expect to SEE it. what a waste of my time to get these and have to return
