First pair of Hokas was the Gaviota 4. Size 12 wide. Were very comfortable for all day wearing, loved them. So wore them out and purchased Gaviota 5. They changed to some new H frame design in the foot bed and I cant stand them, very uncomfortable to wear all day. I'am very disappointed! If I were to buy Hokas again in would try a different style.

These beautiful shoes are advertised as being "stable." There is so much cushioning, that they encourage your ankles to angle in, then out perpetually, even when standing still. Bad orthopedic design.

I am a walker only and average maybe 12-15 miles per week. I have had these shoes only 4 months and the soles are worn out and even cracking. I noticed this on the last same pair I bought only a few months earlier. I am long time Hoka customer and purchased many shoes directly from them. This is the first time I tried to make a warranty claim. When I first contacted them and sent pictures, the agent said that looks bad. Then he put me on hold for 5 or so mins and then said claim was rejected due to ordinary wear and tear. I am sure this is a big company and does not care but they lost a long term customer today and I purchased another brand today.

Have 3 pairs of gaviota 4s. No longer available, boyght the 5's. It's like a completely different shoe. Proportionately off. Support is lacking. Ugly. Completely disappointed . Work in kitchen, on feet all day. Nothing but success with Hoka until now.

I used this as an ED RN; these shoes felt like walking on clouds for the first ~60 days. While I -do- walk an average ~20k steps a day, I'm not running or carrying any large burdens/making quick movements to wear them down. I wore them a grand total of 75 days at work before they reached a point where they were painful to wear. I've started a warranty return but I'll be beholden to the warranty department to determine if they're eligible or not. I'd recommend people consider other shoes/options outside of these.

Loyal Hoka consumer but disappointed in this shoe due to transfer of sock color to white shoe on 1st wear. Usually like to wear Hoka's out for recreation in addition to workout. Not this style. Returning for Hoya 30 day guarantee

The soles do feel good, but it cause pain and creates a sore area where the tongue is attached. This is my first pair of Hoka shoes. A couple of friends who like them have told me that the different styles feel quite different and not to base the shoe on this one experience.

They refuse to stop spamming me. I've unsubscribed several times. They ignore federal laws regarding spam and keep contacting me. I'll never buy from them again.

I purchased an orange pair in April and they felt great, with my new pair I fell only pain. Whatever flaw they think was improved or corrected the mark was widely missed. With on odd size it's hard to find my right fit in store, but I guess I'll go let some clown try to sell me a shoe that doesn't fit or fell right

I'm an overpronator with left ankle issues who runs around 15 miles a week. I've had several pairs of Gaviota 4 and they've remained supportive for literally twice as long as competitors such as Brooks Beast - wonderful running shoes. Purchased the Gaviota 5, ran in them three times and returned to store. You have ruined them, no toe drop, all weight is on ball of foot, spongey, not supportive, made my angle worse, caused arch, tow and achilles pain - nothing is good about these (for me). I hope others find these shoes suitable but you've lost my business.

I ordered the MIDNIGHT / OCEANIC color but Hoka sent me the wrong color twice. The weird part is that the color they keep sending me is not even listed on their website, it's a complete reverse color palate of the MIDNIGHT / OCEANIC colors. I initially ordered these for my b'day earlier this month but even a couple of weeks now, I am still struggling to just get the right color that I ordered from Hoka. Thoroughly disappointing experience for which supposedly the best shoe company in the market at present.

I wore for a few days and messed up my achilles bad as a heel striker, and I have been trying to recover for months. It turn out that the actual heel-to-toe drop is around 2.2 (1/3 of the 6 they advertised) according to a review where they cut the shoe in half and measure. The 30 day return policy doesn't help situations like this. Gaviota 4s worked well though, and was the recent pair of their shoes that fit my needs.

The shoes are very comfy but very unreliable. I used them for a couple of months, and they started falling apart. Unfortunately, can't attach a picture to show it here.

I really hated this shoe. They have a huge foot print. Impossible to drive with them, especially if you drive a manual with a clutch, it's like trying to drive in ski boots. I gave them to goodwill, after a month. The whole Hoka thing is too gimmicky for me.

They made these shoes wider and less supportive. I was a long-term Gaviota person, but these are absolute trash. Bring back your supportive shoes, Hoka!!! Had to move to Brooks sadly.

I have 4 pairs of Gaviota 4s. Looking for next group of shoes when I saw there was a Gaviota5. As soon as I received them and tried them on, back in the box on the way back. The 4s fit perfectly but someone decided that the 5s should be wider even though still called the same width.

My friends and family swear by this brand. About a year ago I bought the Gaviota 4. They started to fall apart. The excellent customer service at Hoka replaced them under warranty. I replaced them with the Gaviota 5. Felt great when I put them on. After a few months, I developed severe hip pains and later shin splints. I had hip pains to a lesser degree with the Gaviota 4. I started to suspect the shoes were the problem, I went back to my old standard New Balance. After about a month, the pain started to go away. Back to the Hokas. I was just a mile into my 6-8 miles and it was worse than ever so I had to return. I can't even use them to liesurely walk around the house. I suspect they are too soft, especially in the heel. This puts stress on my hips and lower leg. These shoes might be good for some people. They definitely won't work for me.
