Perfect fit over an articulated AFO. The zipper is a dream and helps my daughter feel independant to do it herself! After years of shoes that have technically worked...but not well... these are such an exciting find for us. My daughter loves them.

Fix the SMO's very well. I really like the white, as they match more.

The adjustability of this shoe - with the laces and the insoles that are easy to remove - is superb.

This is probably our 5th or 6th pair of Billy shoes. We love them and how they fit over our kiddo's braces. They're so nice and hold up pretty well.

I've been buying these for my son for years and they are always amazing.

My daughter was recently place in AFO's with a wedge. I was struggling to get shoes deep enough to accommodate them. She was also tearing up a pair of shoes within a few weeks. After speaking with support, we tried these. They have been amazing so far. They have held up better and accommodate her braces better than anything else we have found. We are currently waiting for a 3rd pair!

We bought these in black and charcoal. Our kid just loves the charcoal. Highly recommended.

These worked great with my son's KAFOs. They're stylish. They also come in extra wide which is extremely helpful for kiddos that wear braces.

I have to say, these are the best fitting shoes for AFOs yet! I have been getting Billy shoes for several years now for my daughter because they worked so well but these ones are an absolutely perfect fit, even with the extra padding my daughter's AFOs have on the ankle! They give her plenty of room without being ridiculously long in the toe and they actually STAY ON! Thank you so much for making such a great product! I can and do recommend them all the time!

Recently while traveling in Germany I saw a young child be totally independent with his AFO's & shoes. I was so impressed with the zippered Billy shoes. I came home and ordered some for my daughter. What a game changer. She's independent & stylish with her leg braces.

My granddaughter was just fitted for AFOs following two months of casting. She loves her rainbow shoes. They are a perfect fit over her AFOs.

Great fit with my son AFOs. We had to end up taking all 3 insoles out for his fat feet to fit. Both feet are different thickness so it worked well . Even with his legs longer than the other we can put another sole in the shoe and help support him more !

We love Billy shoes for our 5 year old son who wears SMOs. They increase his independence and accommodate his brace, but also look so typical and don't call attention to his differences (something that is very important to him).

PROS: This new line of shoes came in extra wide sizes and fit over my daughter's braces (each foot had an inner and outer AFO). She is 10 and it has been difficult since she was 2 to find pretty or even ugly shoes that fit over them without them being 2-3 sizes too long. Other brands would have the zipper opening but over time it broke. But these came very close to a size that was near her size. They are pretty and the zipper works so well that she is independent putting her shoes on. She says they are comfortable that she can wear them for long periods (that used to be a fight). They also had sizes in extra wide up to youth or big kid 7 which allows her to choose young looking shoes longer instead of transitioning into old lady old looking shoes at 12 or 13. CONS: I hope they put out more variety of pretty shoes . white shoes at this age look dirty quickly and only black is too generic, and possibly a boot line for winter.

5 stars for the ingenuity and simply creating such a useful and good looking shoe. It's great to have options that work well with braces and are easy to put on. A couple thoughts for improvements would be that the zipper could be a little more sturdy. Having to stretch over the AFO puts more strain on that and it catches sometimes... hoping it doesn't break but we are still getting used to the shoes and braces so we'll probably figure out a way to make that easier as we adjust. Also, it would nice to have laces that don't come untied as easily... most shoelaces have this problem, except Under Armor... they seem to have figured it out. Of course, we can double-knot the laces on the Billy shoes so it's really not a problem... just an idea. Overall a wonderful product that meets a need where almost nothing else does. Sending a HUGE THANK YOU to the Billy Footwear creator and team for one less daily struggle this momma has to deal with for my special needs kiddo!

They fit great with my daughters AFOs and are easy to get on and off. We've bought a few pairs of Billy's and these are our favorite ones.

Easy on, easy off, very cute style and colors. I may only shop here for my daughter's shoes from now on. She wears special braces (AFO's) and these are the easiest shoes we have ever tried out of all of the other brands.

My son has very wide AFOs with a pretty high wedge and these shoes were perfect for him. I'm so havpoy we finally found something that works.
