I purchased this backpack 150 years ago (exaggeration). It has been my faithful companion on at least a 1000 day hikes (this is not an exaggeration). PROS: Extremely durable materials. Very lightweight. The number, size and placement of pockets is well thought out. I absolutely love this daypack. CONS: It has snowshoed a blizzard in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It has baked on the hot red rocks of Moab. It has gotten run over by a car. It has fallen off a cliff. It has been washed in a washing machine at least 25 times. It just won't die. At this point, the backpack looks sad and ragged but is still fully functional. Sometimes it embarrasses me in public, like when I was going hiking with a friend I was visiting and had to carry it through an airport in all its tattered glory. The environmentalist in me won't purchase a new item until I need it, but this is just getting ridiculous. Careful with this one. Choose a color you like.

Great bag - light, suffable, right amount of pockets, really smart additions like tiny pockets for stuffing in the lengthy straps so they don't hang.

Just received my bag and I can say the quality is very nicely made. Love the color putty perfect for summer run arounds and day hiking the blue Ridge Mountains. I bought this with a gift card my son gave me. LLBean great product and color have been looking for something more neutral for a woman not flashy hits all the right Boxes.

Totally awesome - would just love a suitcase strap

I bought two of these years ago and they've traveled every where with us. My teenagers now use them and I need to get a new one for me. They are so light weight but fit perfectly with a padded shoulder strap, chest strap, and waist strap. Keeps it tight on your body for a hike. They fit perfectly under an airplane seat and then transition to day hikes in all weather. I've used the bag while snow shoeing, hiking Zion, going to the beach etc. It has just enough pockets, easy to clean, holds a full size water bottle, and folds up small.

Given as a Christmas gift ... Recipient loved it !

Sturdy comfortable pack for day travel or weekend getaway. Top zipper closure to secure items. Two side pockets and my favorite open outside pouch for quick storage with easy retrieval. Zippered pockets inside and outside. My #1 choice for my everyday trail walks in any season!

This is my second stowaway from LL Bean. I love the size and practicality of this backpack. Just the right size for day hikes!

I found this pack to be an excellent choice for traveling. It has a surprisingly large storage capacity but fits will under a plane seat. I especially appreciated its many compartments. The wide shoulder straps also made it comfortable to wear.

I've had two versions of this bag and each has lasted me about 2 years of heavy use. This bag is incredible and perfect in almost every way from packing in a suitcase to use as a day pack on travels, to skiing, carrying groceries, and of course, backpacking and hiking, the bag does it all. It is surprisingly spacious and the amount of compartments and pockets are perfect for my liking. When outdoors, I use the outer stuff pocket to put shed small layers of clothing and/or to hold a wet towel. I have also used the outer stuff pocket to hold a 2-piece paddleboard paddle with a bungee, and that stays secure as well! I love how the straps on the sides are adjustable, as you can secure things like fishing and hiking poles by wrapping them around multiple times. I even use the "blinky" loop as a trekking pole holder, which works perfectly. I have not had any issues with items falling out of the side pockets in the newer versions the material is stretchy and comfortably fits my 32oz Nalgene bottles. I also like that you can secure water bottles by looping through the adjustable side straps if you want to be extra sure they don't fall out on you while hiking!! For the weight and construction, these packs are incredibly durable and a single bag hiked all of the ADK 46ers with me with just a single small rip the only con is that the lighter colors tend to get dirty easier, and the darker colors fade in the sun pretty easily. As long as Bean offers this bag, I will keep buying over and over as it's the perfect size and functionality! I've tried the smaller stowaway but rarely use it, because the lack of pockets, shallow water bottle holders, and overall shape make it less useful. I do want to try out the 28L version at some point, but unless I was primarily using it for winter hiking, I don't see the need to upgrade capacity :)

I purchased this packback because it was smaller and much lighter than what I had. I used it for my carry on and then for my daily bag while travelling in Italy. It worked beautifully. big enough to carry all the essentials from day to day. (Water bottle, sweater or wrap without being bulky or cumbersome. I will definitely use this more for local outings close to home.

bought this while i was in maine on vacation. bought it for being very lightweight and really packs a lot into it if needed. folds up small and is packable in luggage without taking up a. lot of room. Great as a carryon for planes.sister bought one too. we used it for hiking and it held a large water bottle, seatshirt, snacks sunscreen and bug spray.

Lightweight but tough. My wife got one for herself several years back and loves it, so she bought this one for me.

The pack is as advertised and what I wanted. It takes some effort to fold it up but I'm getting better at it.

This is the third back pack of this type i have had and i just love themgreat pouches and zippers..lightweight and water resistant.when traveling on the Camino in Spain I had a multicolored version and it was super as i could spot it a mile away.you will not be disappointed !

This is definitely a 5 star product. I got tired of pocketbooks with pockets in the wrong places. This bag is perfect for everyday.

I bought this as a compressible daypack to stuff into my luggage and it has exceeded all expectations. While it compresses down small, unlike other superlight backpacks, the back has enough rigidity that I can access water bottles in the two side pouches and put them back without taking the backpack off. Other light backpacks are too flimsy and I cannot get water bottles back in. There are three convenient front acess spaces, the small zippered pouch on top (just wish it was large enough to hold an iphone), the open flap for stuffing a jacket or hat, and a side zip pouch on the flap for sunscreen, bug lotion, etc. Inside the main compartment has a divider to more quickly find smaller things, and there is an upper zippered pouch that is a good size.

Perfect size pack for a day hike. Love all the compartments. And the bottle holders are just the right size.

Bought this bag in 2018 and traveled/hiked with it extensively. I loved this bag so much I just rebought it 7 years later! Great quality. Good pockets. Easy access. Comfortable. Has a little structure while still being packable into itself. The thing I love the most is that I can grab my water bottle from the side pocket without having to remove the pack - the other bags I've tried have never made this possible! 10/10 recommend :)
