This is very lightweight and perfect for keeping all the essentials in. I'm a mom of three, don't like bags or purses, and need to be hands free for my toddler so this was a great fit. I use it around town and on short hikes. It can fit a lot more than you think and it's comfortable to wear.

I bought the dark green which evokes the woods and seems perfect for carrying hiking stuff like a camera, binoculars, a small amount of food and a water bottle. I wear it slung over my shoulder, not cross body, and it works well. Thank you LL Bean. I support your brand over all other sports brands because it started well before my time and has authentic and practical origins in Maine. I don't mind the logo being prominently displayed. In fact, the mountain graphic could be a bit more filled out.

I bought this bag 6 years ago. I use it daily so far no signs of wear.

The Stowaway Sling Pack is a perfect size & shape. The pockets are so accessible. It is very comfy to wear & I use it everyday. I have every color it comes in.

This was a great bag for travel! It met the size requirements for a personal item on the plane. I fit everything I needed in it during day trips, including a water bottle, large wallet, sunglasses, pack of tissues. I liked being able to shift it to a front carry in big cities. Super comfortable!

Ideal size; lightweight cross body style with room

This bag is so versatile, I have taken this bag with me on both longer hikes in the mountains as well as quick walks and it is great for both and very comfy! I am an L.L.Bean student ambassador at the University of New Hampshire and the Stowaway Sling Sack is even great for carrying things around campus because of how lightweight and convenient it is. The sling sack has been able to replace so many of my other favorite bags because it is a backpack and tote all in one.

I bought this sling pack for a trip to have as my day bag, and it was great! I traveled with only a carry-on suitcase and backpack, so it was difficult to fit everything I needed into these two bags. Being able to stow this sling bag into the small, easy-to-pack pocket was so handy and saved me space for other items! Also, this bag fits more than you would think. I was able to fit everything I needed and more into it. I washed it after my trip and it was perfectly fine :) Totally recommend! Better price and quality than stowaway packs from other brands that I was looking at.

The product summary includes the phrase "made for travel, a day on the trail or a walk into town", and that's exactly what I've been using it for. When I know that my cargo pants won't cut it, but certainly don't need a backpack, this bag turns out to be ideal. I like the basic construction (small pocket, main pouch, mesh outer pocket), and it doesn't hold too much to make it unwieldy.

Really nice pack. Nice choice of compartments. I would add a few d-rings to be able attach some things to the outside. It's a great size and very light.

My daughter recommended this for my upcoming European vacation to an area rampant with pickpockets. I've also used it when hiking. Good workmanship and very handy.

I wish I'd had this sling pack on our last trip. I could've fit my small camera with back-up batteries, along with a water bottle, a charger for my phone, my small iPad or a folding rain jacket -- probably not both -- and whatever bug spray, or sun block or trail maps I needed. I'd say, the L.L.Bean sling is very practical. There are three compartments. One large mesh pocket for a water bottle or phone or small camera. The zippered pocket which turned in-side-out is a stuff pocket for the pack, but will also hold smaller items. A central zipper opens to the full pack. No straps apart from the sling itself. Designed to be worn over your right shoulder, you can easily flip it, if you need to. Stuffing the pack into the small pocket takes a bit of practice, but it's easy. I hope to to take this on a lot of trips, even if it's a bike or subway ride.

The sling is working well for traveling. The small zippered pocket holds a phone and small id/credit card/money holder for easy access. The larger space is good for a hat, water bottle, thin jacket and other small needs. The mesh outside pocket is good for a map, mask, and anthing flat. The sling is good both right or left, back or front. This is a good purchase for me!

Perfect for my needs. Had a quilted one of these many years ago. This material is light and great for summer.

I love the Stoaway Sling Back. I only wish there were more of a variety of colors to choose from.

I bought this pack to take to Disney based on someone else's review. They were absolutely right about it being just the ticket for holding what I needed each day in the park. It's comfortable to wear and the contents are easy to access without taking it off. The only improvement that I'd suggest is making the outside mesh pocket deeper so it would hold a .75 Camelback water bottle without falling out.

Love this it's great for walking my dogs. Stows water treats and extra bags. 2 inside sections so I can put my items separately like cell keys etc. I chose this over other brands because of the mesh outer pocket for used bags. I wish I had chosen a darker color but the dirt does seem to just brush off once dry and I love this color combo.

i like it. i have a little duffle bag too. very convenient.
