I've been wearing these socks for years. Winter and summer. Three pair a year. I wear them every day. They're comfortable, wear great. My only negative is that Bean used to make a long version that came almost to the knee. These were especially good for severe winter days. Alas.

My husband loves these socks. They have been gifted to him in the past and this is the first time he's had to buy them because they wear so well. He hunts and is out in the cold for hours on end and these socks provide the warmth and dryness required.

I buy these for my husband who is a bricklayer, a hunter and a fisherman. These are his favorite socks!

Living on a farm, my husband has to be outdoors rain or shine, sleet or snow. Because he loves these socks, I didn't hesitate to purchase two pair of them as a Christmas gift for the new addition to our family--our granddaughter's fiance--who is an avid hunter. Being out during cold weather as well, I'm confident he'll love the socks, too, and that they'll keep his feet warm and dry.

I am a total wool sock person, and I had never tried Bean socks. I caught a good deal on these and was very pleased with what came in the mail. This is a relatively thick sock, on the heavy side of medium weight. Comfortable. Hugs the foot. Reinforced in the right places. Feels as good at the end of a day hiking as it did in the morning Washes well and keeps its shape. Dries fast. Appears to be durable ...but ask me in a year. I wear only wool blend socks, because cotton gets wet and soggy. I like a good mix of high quality wool (like Merino) and polyester and/or nylon for durability, with a dash of lycra for stretch and fit. The Bean boot sock has all that and is a serious sock. So in my opinion it is excellent choice for normal hiking and backpacking. In my sock hierarchy this sock is tied for second place with a well-known outdoor wool sock brand. Only one boot sock, made in Vermont, edges this one out, and that is based on the Vermont sock's tapered fit. The fit of course being a matter of personal choice. This is certainly one of the top 5 boot socks available in North America, but anyone's standard. So I don't think outdoor people can go wrong choosing this sock.

He loves these and has been wearing the same pair over and over since it started getting cooler. They do not shrink in the dryer, the materials do not get rough after washing/drying, nor do they make the feet sweaty. He knows there will be more for xmas this year, but he does not want to wait that long!

These boot socks are extremely comfortable and go great with the hiking boots I got at LLBean.

My husband has been wearing these socks for years. They keep his feet warm while snowmobiling or cutting wood. They are durable, wash and dry fine and are well worth the price. Our nephew is hooked on them ... his usual Christmas gift.

My husband has been wearing these to work (construction) for the past year and just loves them. He also wears them in the winter for outdoor activities. Loves them.

I purchased this Boot Sock because I have several other pairs of LLB hiking socks and have gotten excellent service from them. I line-dry them so they hold their shape well and last longer. I wanted a taller pair so more of my calf stays warm.

I wear these socks every day in my work boots.some people may bock at the price, but I get about three years out of them and the elastic top is still like new !! wouldn't buy anything else.

Simply put....and to the point....the best socks ever to keep your feet warm! You get what you pay for.

I recommend you buy at least one size larger because the sock shrinks A LOT. Otherwise this is a great product.

My husband wears work boots year 'round, and he loves these socks, even in the summer. We bought them first a few years ago. They're comfortable, absorbent and just the right height. I can vouch that they wash and wear well, too. We add a couple of new pairs every now and then, but the old ones are good, too.

My husband wears them all year round, around the house. He doesn't wear shoes unless he goes out. He loves them in winter time with boots too!

My husband bought a pair of these socks last year and bought another this year because these are almost the only socks that keep his feet hot in our cold winter.

very comfortable and warm, worth the price

When I saw the Vancouver Olympics weather was going to be wet and warm, I switched to bringing my L.L.Bean Maine hunting boots as my only walking shoes for the muck, slush, and snow. I knew I needed good socks to keep me from getting sore feet with all the walking we would do, including 1 mile straight up to see the Women's Downhill. I quickly ordered two pair of these awesome boot socks. They were the only socks I wore in Vancouver and Whistler (I won't tell you how many days I was there!). Every day, my feet were cushioned, warm, and comfy with the Best Boot Socks Ever! They are Bean's thickest socks I am told, so make sure your boots aren't too tight to start with. For me, they worked perfectly to give me a wonderful Olympics experience.

My husband spends a lot of time on his feet at work, on a concrete floor, and these are the only socks he'll wear! By the end of the day in other socks his feet and legs ache...the cushion on these socks help him make it through the day more comfortably. Worth every penny!

I have and wear a lot of boot type socks in the winter months, Very much so this year with lots of cold weather and snow. The LL Bean Boot Socks are the best I have worn. Hands Down. Warm very comfortable and worth every dime spent. Wash and wear forever... I do wish they would make a taller version of this sock because I like to wear a 13 to16 inch Pak Boot when the snow piles up. Great Product from L L Bean...

These socks were the only socks that kept my husbands and my feet warm this winter, even with below zero temps. We have tried cotton and other types but this is the best warmth we have experienced ever.

I LIKE THIS SOCKS ALOT. THIS IS MY SECOND PAIR . THEY KEEP MY FEET WARM AND ARE COMFORTABLE. WOULD RECOMMEND AS GOOD BUY.
