I immediately knew I'd be ordering more. I bought one pair to try, and the moment I put it on and began walking around the house I knew that I'd be back to order a few more pair. These are thick, comfortable, and feel good on the feet. My shoe size is 10 1/2 wide, so I ordered a size large in this sock. The fit for me is such that these socks aren't sloppy, but aren't tight either. So often I buy socks that stretch tightly against my feet. These have a more easy feeling fit.

WOW, finally found the perfect sock! Walk my dogs an average of 5 mi/day and old feet have lost their padding, these socks make up for that - am good to go!! Wear Keen hiking boots and these are the perfect match. Had to exchange med for large, as they did shrink after wash. Thanks LL Bean, once again.

These boot socks are so comfy you'll not want to take them off. They are soft and warm on the inside with plenty of cushion. This is my third pair and my go-to boot sock for winter hiking. I have given them as gifts to several people and the recipients have loved them as much as I.

For several years I've hiked year-round in these socks in many places including the Sawtooths, the North Cascades, Alaska, and Antarctica. The cushioning is excellent, and no liner socks are needed. They wick well in the summer but also keep your feet warm in the winter. I routinely wear the same pair for 3-day backpacking trips, and the socks do not mat down or lose performance during extended wear between washings. I went on my first backpacking trip in 1985, and these are by far the best hiking socks I have found. FYI, I always line dry them. They last as long as any other wool socks I've purchased.

Great socks for bean boots, not too thick not too thin great for hiking.

Bought these for my husband six years ago, and they're finally looking worn out. He says these are the best socks ever and is so glad LL Bean stays true to what works. I'm so glad, too, that I can replace them plus get them in other colors. XL socks are hard to come by.

Warm socks to wear

i bought these to wear during the hunting season...deer, turkey, etc...absolutely the best hunting socks i have ever owned. they've been going for several years now...probably outlast my boots.

I don't normally write reviews, and I'm a man of few words, but these are the BEST winter socks I've ever owned. Much warmer than even the thickest "Darn Tough" socks on the market. If you want to find the softest and warmest socks on the market, these are the ones you need. Don't bother with any other brand. Buy a lot of these because you'll want to wear these each day of the week. When the temperature gets below freezing, these are the socks you'll be wanting to grab. These are the first socks I've owned that are thick enough to wear alone with winter boots. Usually I have to wear two pairs. They are warm, comfortable, and are thick enough that they provide a little cushion walking on hard floors at home. I definitely need more of these as boot-weather approaches.

I bought these to wear in my winter boots (when I go on winter trips). They are so nice and warm and comfy - however, they're so thick, they don't fit in my boots without my toes being squished (apparently I need bigger boots lol). But, I'll give them to my mom, who will love them because she's always cold :-)

I'm a Railroad Conductor on my feet in worst imaginable footing and weather year round 24/7 from minus 40 below too 100 plus hot and humid Midwest weather. For years I've tried every brand (EVERY BRAND) of boot socks and materials, LL Bean brand has the perfect thickness and fit too make my daily grind tolerable. I'm not sure exactly why or how because most brands claim comfort, fit, longevity but these are hands down the best. Second would be White's brand boot socks outta Seattle but when I'm able to get these LL BEAN brand socks I'm all over it. I grew up wearing they're coats and boots seems fitting to their socks be in the#1 spot. My only gripe is the availability which seems to be sometimes problematic but that's obviously a sign of demand so when you're able to buy do so.

These are one of my husband's favorite socks. He does a lot of outside work year round and has found them comfortable and long-lasting.

Will only buy these socks for the winter. Have tried other and have spent lots of money trying to find a better socks than these but always come back to these. Maybe a little pricey but so worth it. They last!!

I have 3 pairs of these great socks...warm and comfortable with or without boots...highly recommended!

Great quality socks, very comfortable.

I recently replaced my previous pair of these same socks. (The old pair lasted me for years!) These are thick and comfortable. I just wear them to bed at night, so I guess I can't really speak to them as hiking or boot socks. They are extremely comfortable for bedtime.

This is a good sock for every day use because my feet sweat a lot. Thanks to this sock, my feet stay dry. Thanks for another good product.

I love these socks. They are the only socks I wear. I purchased 2 pair. One had a seam torn out by the toes. I contacted LLBean and they had another replacement pair mailed out the same day!! Great product, great customer service! THANK YOU!

I'm a fly fisherman and I spend a lot of hours wading in the very cold rivers trout love. These socks are the warmest pair I own and well worth the money.

These socks are warm and comforting. I'm not a hiker; they were purchased to wear as a warm extra layer around the house, and they are great for that. Because I've become used to over-the-calf support hose, they seem a little short, but they are the correct length for under, say, hiking boots. I recommend them highly.

These socks are WONDERFUL! Very thick and comfortable! If your boots are tight, these may be too thick for you. They don't fall down. Everything I want in a boot sock. I bought my husband a pair also, they're his new favorite sock too!

My third purchase of this product in the past 15 years. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer and soft on weary feet. Did I mention price? Always great comfort and value with tremendous durability. I'll be back.

My favorite socks of all time ! (only my Mother's hand-knit argyles could compare) I've worn daily them for the last several years except for those terrible occasions when I have to wear a suit & tie. Wore out my original grey and khaki pairs and only had one pair left. Now I can relax for the next several years! They offer great comfort and excellent wear . . . well worth the increased price from my first purchase years ago!
