I've been buying merino wool LLBean socks for a few years now and I've noticed that these are pretty much the only socks I live in every winter now. To put things in perspective, I live in Georgia and when the colder weather finally (and I mean FINALLY) sets in, I pull out my Bean boots, Bean mocs, wool socks and flannel shirts and live comfortably ever after, usually from November to March. Yes it's the south, but it gets cold here too. So although you boil your bits off in the summer, you can also freeze your bits off in winter. And these merino wool socks are awesome to have in your wardrobe. They're super affordable (especially when there's a sale) and the selection they offer is great as well.

These are great socks. Warm and durable. However, wash them by themselves before wearing or washing with other clothes. They shed quite a bit in the first wash and it was a bit of a pain to get all the dark lint off all my other clothes.

I love new socks and these are great! Soft, warm and durable. I'm a New England gal and once home from work I change into the comfortable clothes and these are awesome. Also great (obviously) with boots for those snowy winter days! No shrinking, no stretching...just happy feet!

Very much appreciated these wool socks in cold weather. My feet get cold easily in Winter, but these socks were the only guarantee of warm feet for me. They held their shape, though the only con I can think of is they did shed a bit, but not significantly.

These are the best socks for the cold weather. The colors are basic (I have them all!) and they last year after year. I put them in the washer and dryer and there's no shrinkage.

Well made, excellent fit, and thick! The perfect wool ragg sock. I wear these socks with my years old, still going, and still good-looking L. L. Bean moccasins. I purchased four pairs and will be getting more. I wish they came in a solid oatmeal color. I ordered the Gray and they are marled -- distinctive brown/gray two-tone.

These are my go-to winter socks. Warm and confortable, they stay up (no sliding into boots) with no itching. Every 3 -4 years they need to be replaced but, thank goodness they are a Bean staple.

I have always been disappointed with socks, as my feet are always cold! Even in the summer my feet tend to be freezing cold. So, One more time I tried a pair of socks hoping for the best, fingers crossed. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened soft, thick and soft warm socks for me poor feet! These merino socks just seemed to wrap themselves around my feet and say "your problems are over". Do your feet a favor and try these socks! I promise they won't be disappointed! My husband was sooooo pleased with them he had me order four more sets. He said they were the most comfortable socks he has ever worn.

These socks are perfect for a cold winter evening: warm and comfortable.

I bought these socks to wear to Lake Tahoe during this extremely snowy winter season. These socks kept my feet very warm despite the deep snow. They are very thick, definitely thicker than regular cotton crew socks. I see these socks lasting for a long time especially since I only have to wear them a few times a year when I visit a snowy place.

They're good-looking and thick. They wash in a laundry machine and can be put in the dryer if not too hot. (I've washed them twice since I got them. They barely shrank.) They feel soft like cotton, not like scratchy wool. They're perfect with my LLBean boots.

My husband has now thrown out all his other casual socks. These go straight into the washer and dryer and then into his drawer for all the evenings and weekends he wants cozy, cushy comfort.

Nice, warm, heavier weight unisex wool sox reinforced w/nylon for longer wear. Machine washable (inside out, in mesh bag), but I line dry. Didn't pill, still look good. When heels start to thin, mend w/sock yarn to extend wear life. Don't buy too small--I wear ladies' size 10 shoe and buy XL. Good for XC skiing and Buffalo winters!

I got these for my husband as he does a lot of outdoor stuff. They work great with his boots and keep his feet warm. They fit well and are comfortable.

These socks feel great and really keep my feet warm. I'm delighted with them and will definitely be buying more pairs.

Warmer than smart wool, better than those socks with loop knit inside. Use in boots and as slippers. Not itchy.
