Farm life in the Midwest requires serious cold weather gear to make it through winter chores. These socks are a great addition to my cold-weather wardrobe! I'm a women's size 7 1/2 in shoes and the size medium socks fit perfectly. I love the merino wool in them--it makes them so soft. I used to buy ragg wool socks from another store, but they weren't nearly as soft as these. I don't think I'll be buying wool socks from anyplace besides L.L. Bean from now on!

I received my socks on 1/3/18 the day before the Nor'easter. I wore the socks on Thursday to shovel snow and spent a good 3 hours outdoors doing just that. My feet were warm and dry throughout the whole time. The fit is excellent and the thickness is just right for my L.L.Bean boots; no layering was necessary unlike other socks with similar thickness. I'm thinking of getting a second pair. I would highly recommend this pair of socks to anyone. Thank you LLBean.

I wore these for the first time on a 20 degree day with canvas boat shoes and didn't notice the cold. That says something for warmth. What I liked more is that of the several styles of wool socks that are of similar weight that I own, these probably due to the weave seem more cushy and comfortable. I liked them enough to call and order two more pair immediately.

We have had sub zero weather in southern Ohio. I work outside as a cart associate for a big box store. I wore New Balance gym shoes and your socks and my feet were warm and comfortable for my entire 8 hour shift. a great buy even though I may not need all the time.

Bought these socks to fulfill the amount of sales necessary to receive a gift card. Am I ever glad that I did. I wear Birkenstock sandals in the house in the winter and these wool socks make is so my feet are never cold. These merino wool socks do not cause my skin to itch as some wool does. They wash without the shrinkage of regular wool socks. So happy that I did this for myself.

WELL MADE WARM NOT ITCHY.

I have always had a problem in the winter with cold feet, when I read the reviews on these socks I knew I had to try them; warm and cozy; my feet are doing the happy dance. I will be purchasing more of these wool socks, they do not itch , are soft and comfortable. I highly recommend this product.

We purchased medium size, but exchanged them for large. The large size fit great and are warm.

I usually purchase smart wool socks for twice the price. These are a great replacement.

These were a big hit at Christmas. Very warm in the coldest climes, good looking for all occasions. Perfectly thick, not bulky, not too tight, not too loose. Really great sox.

I gave these socks to a friend in 2017 who was preparing to go skiing for a week and also hunts during the winter months. I have had these socks for personal use for 3 years, and they are very comfortable and warm, yet they look nice with jeans. They wash easily as well.

Purchased for son and daughter and their spouses for Christmas. All are outdoorsy type...and they LOVE them!!

These socks are very warm and comfortable, and, coincidentally, I am wearing them as I write this, just in from the cold. I would buy these again, and recommend them.

Love these socks. Warm and very nice looking. They are thick so expect your shoes or slippers will fit tighter. But if you are looking for warmth...these are for you!

He wore them for days - they were still fresh - and when he finally sucumbed to washing them, (since they were wool he was hesitant to toss them in the washing machine) the socks came out better than ever. I first purchased ragg wool socks from LL Bean, for last winter, in a black (with white flecks). and in navy. I have worn them throughout the year, and have loved them. They are some of the best socks I have ever worn. Washable, comfortable, breathable, medium thickness, wear fairly well, made in the U.S.A. I have learned to buy multiple pairs of a color sock, to get more wear, and for when one sock decides to go on its own adventure, somewhere else. I have worn these socks even during the summer months, as long as the temperature was less than 90+ degrees. This year, boo hoo, no more black for sale. I purchased navy and charcoal in longer lengths. The 16 inch works well for knee highs. I am a 5' tall woman, who usually wears a size 8 shoe, sometimes 9 in boots. A size medium in the socks fits well. LLB, please keep selling these socks, and please bring back the black.

These socks are amazing! These socks are very soft and I don't need to wear my hearthside slippers when I have them on, they're like socks and a slipper all in one. I find them to be true to size, I am a size 8 and a medium is perfect. They're thick, I can't wear them with my regular sneakers, but they're perfect with my Bean boots and heavy duty winter foot wear.

These are perfect. Wool is thick but not too thick, keep shape after washing, not too tight but say on feet well.
