I LOVE this bag. It holds EVERYTHING. All my work, my purse, shopping...EVERYTHING! Love the turquoise color and the monogram. Just a great, fun, work, summer bag (that I use all year long!)

I recently purchased an open top, medium Boat and Tote bag to replace the one I had used for nearly 18 years. The original bag was a gift, and it contained the name and embroidered image of a Dachshund like mine. We lost that dog in mid-December and I didn't want to continue using the bag. I had used it as my "school bag", and except for the frayed handles and some stains I had caused, it was still in great shape! I certainly could have gotten many more good years of use from it, but I couldn't bear to look at the name and picture of my precious doggie. :( The replacement bag I ordered is identical to the original, but contains only my monogram. The bag is very well made and has plenty of room for all the books, etc, that I put in it. I look forward to using it for many, many years. I don't believe it is possible to wear out one of these bags! Bean does not disappoint!

Bought this for my daughter who is a school teacher. She LOVES it. It is beautifully crafted and very sturdy. The monogramming gives it a nice touch.

I've admired these classic tote bags for many years due to the quintessential New England style and reports from friends and shoppers of its amazing durability. This was my first purchase and I have to say, they were right! I love it so much that I just ordered three more in various sizes (2 large, 1 medium). This tote is virtually indestructible! It's sturdy and very well made. It holds far more weight than I can carry with absolutely no stress on the stitching and it's versatile too! We've used it for road trips, afternoons at the beach and as an overnight bag. Don't be intimidated by the price... these totes are worth every penny considering they will last for decades! Being able to choose the color and add names or monograms is an added bonus. The style never fails to draw positive attention from other shoppers. If you're looking for top quality, durability and iconic style, search no further - this is your bag. It's the best tote bag I've ever owned and I highly recommend it.

I had a similar tote bag for years, but the handles wore out. This bag is a great bargain for the quality-- The fabric is thick and sturdy. It stands up, unlike other open bags that will fall over and dump the contents everywhere. The monogram is perfectly stitched. I don't know about cleaning it--time will tell, but I'm very happy to have this bag--the iconic L.L.Bean Boat and Tote.

I bought this bag for a college bound graduate, handles and monogram in his selected college colors. He was thrilled. But moreso because I had bought his older brother the same bag in his college colors. Older brother assured younger brother that he'd enjoy his bag very much. It transports dirty laundry from dorm to home very well!

We bought this tote for a heavy, valuable piece of electronics that we transport frequently- the protective box is way too cumbersome. It stands up wherever we put it, the handles stay upright too, ready to grab and go. The tough canvas is perfect protection & now all the support cables are collected in one neat package. Ideal for our purpose!

I now own 3 of these totes, they work so well for me. They are perfect for carrying gear for each of my dogs for dog training classes, and the other one I have used to tote everything from physical therapy equipment to a picnic lunch. Love how they are sturdy and stand upright. Great size.

This tote is my "go to" new baby gift. I always order a medium tote with long handles and a monogram of the baby's name. Every new Mom loves it! My only issue is there are few to none matching colors for the handle and monogram. I went with the customer recommendation of Reef Coral handle and Persimmon monogram. They are almost identical. Overall a great purchase due to great customer service advice.

I ordered this bag for an overseas trip to Shanghai. I initally ordered an X-Large but thought that might be too big. I sent an e-mail on a Sunday to Customer Service to change my order to a Large. I did not expect a response until Monday or Tuesday but about 15 minutes later my phone rang! It was LL Bean calling on a Sunday to assist me!!!! Wow! That was amazing. I received my bag as promised on the Thursday before I left. What a lifesaver! The bag is awesome and it carried all of my stuff to and from China. It was sturdy and perfect. I even had it monogrammed and it came out so well. I am super picky about my bags and LL Bean delivered. I like traditional things and the Boat and Tote is wonderful. Well done!

We use these bags to courier books back and forth from our public library bookmobile to the main building, and from library to library, daily. We've been using LLBean Boat and Tote bags for years because they are easier to manage than carrying storage boxes, they are long lasting, and we can custom monogram them for the various routes the books take! Red to bookmobile, blue to the city library, purple for Quilcene School, and green for the main county library! Handle colors match the monogram colors for easy tracking, and they are so durable, even with heavy use, the last years.

Got this for my daughter, as I have owned one for many years and found it extremely useful and durable. This one was a little larger than I expected, but as I had had it monogrammed, there would be no return. Didn't matter. She loved it and was able to tuck all her Christmas gifts inside to take them home when she left. Wonderful item!

Purchased the tote as a gift and it is all that it was advertised to be. Well sewn, heavy duty material. Got the monogram which makes it more personal.

I have MANY MANY MANY different kinds of LL Bean tote bags.....Every size it seemed but Small! I really LOVE the Boat and Tote bags the most. They seem to be the most sturdy bags that LLB has! These have been around for YEARS!!! They won't die! They are made of a HEAVY wt canvas! They are Made in Maine! So now I decided to get a small one. I do ALLOT of knitting and have been doing smaller projects. These are Super for smaller items at the groc store too! More so w/the plastic bags being thinner these days!!! This bag fit the bill!!! I didn't measure out the size. I found it to be bigger than what I expected it to be for a small bag! That's GREAT tho! I know many have commented about a pocket. Well then add a pencil case or a wristlet or some clear plastic boxes, in it and than you have something to help you keep your stuff more organized!!! I don't need a key fob. I use a lariat on my keys. I put this on the handles so my keys don't go to the bottom of the bag. Many have mentioned using it for a purse; I found it rather big to use for a purse.... I SUGGEST you measure out the size of the bag you think you want and take it from there as to getting it. You will be Surprised w/the room in the SMALL bag! These are the BEST BAGS ANYONE CAN EVER GET! I highly suggest you have several of all sizes in your home and you will be very happy you have them!

We have bought this very bag several times....they keep relocating to other family members. They love them also...just forget to return them. What can I say...we all love them and I only hope we can keep this one at least for a while.

I gave the medium-sized canvas tote bag to my daughter as a gift. She loved it, and has told me that the bag is the perfect size for a day at the beach- towel, book, water bottle, sunscreen and snacks fit easily. She also loves the sturdy fabric and the monogram!

I adore this bag in all sizes and colors. I have every size bag myself. It first, was given to me as a baby gift. Now it is my go to baby gift for family and friends. I often fill it up with goodies. Everyone I have given it to also loves the bag. I get them monogram to make it personal. I also suggest getting the long handle for the large and extra large bags otherwise they are difficult to carry.

Not something you would necessarily purchase for yourself, but should consider! We were very proud to give this as a gift, and the recipient was thrilled. So glad we went with the longer handles, and the monogram made it extra special. As the recipient stated, it will probably outlast him! Very happy with our purchase, and highly recommend.

I purchased the open Boat n Tote for my grandson with his name monogrammed on the front. I have purchased Boat n Tots for each on by grandkids. The kids will fill their totes with toys to bring with them whenever they come to Grandma's house. When it is time to return home, they collect their toys and bring them home again. Always handy to have a Boat n Tote around the house.

Ordered my medium open top tote bag in peony (with monogram) this past Sunday and received today (Tuesday!). Unbelievably quick service! The monogram adds that perfect extra touch to the tote thanks to Ryan, my stitcher. This is the perfect sized tote for library books, small trips to the market, work lunches or anything really. Very pleased and will be ordering matching totes in larger sizes.

We've purchased LL Bean totes many times over the years because they are a great quality and last for years! We often purchase them for baby gifts to tote the baby's toys and things, and for birthday gifts with a name or monogram. The large is a generous size for hauling/toting things.
