This bag looks well made just like the bag I still use from 20+ years ago.

I still have one of these tote bags from probably 30 years ago and still use it to tote stuff to a day at the beach or lake, take items to the farm or to visit family and friends. Yes mine is a little worn after all these years but still love it. I decided this would be our gift of choice this year for several of our family members and children. Great gift that will last forever.

I was impressed by the quality and durability of this bag. Sits upright by itself so baggers prefer it to those .99 reusable bags that grocery stores sell. The canvas fabric is much heavier than I imagined. I'm quite happy with my choice.

Purchased a Tote Bag, came sooner then I expected. Love the bag. Have had this bag, given to me almost 30 years ago and am still using it. These totes are so sturdy, well-made, and last for a lifetime! We have a house full of them in all sizes and use them just about every day for carrying everything from beach gear to groceries, firewood to dog toys. The canvas is heavyweight, so the totes stand up on their own, which is handy when filling them and they can hold more weight than we can lift! Have given them as gifts to friends and family with rave comments. Knowing they are still made in Maine is great! Highly recommend!

I love giving this bag as a baby gift. The parents can use it for years to come. Love the quality...we have a 15 and 13 year old who received these bags as baby gifts and we still use them.

This is exactly what I was looking for. A heavy duty grocery bag that stands up on its own. I was surprised on how well the bag was constructed. Good product.

My college student used my extra large bag (regular size straps) until I bought one for her as a Christmas gift. She lives on campus within 1 hour from home. This bag was useful to tote laundry, seasonal transition clothes, sport equipment and occasionally it was used as a beach bag. I also found it useful to lug loose items (food as well as paper towels, utensils, garbage bags, etc) for tailgate parties and post game potlucks. I went with short straps because my student is 5' 3." Any longer, the bag would drag on the floor. The regular handles are long enough to swing onto shoulders. This bag holds up well after several washings.

Great little bag. I ordered monogram on both sides of bag. It came with one side only. LLBean said it was a mistake, the order was clear -- both sides. They offered to send another with 2 sides. I chose not to send it back because it likely would have been thrown away. IT's fine with the initials on one side. So, if you want initials on both sides, be sure to emphasize this.

I have over a dozen of these totes in mini, small, medium and large over the last 20+ years. Only one wore out carrying dog stuff after 10+ years. Please bring back the mini size, they are perfect as a weekend purse just for keys, wallet and phone. And all those ones with the Christmas tree, flowers etc that can be used for gift bags. I miss them so much.

Boat and Tote bags make amazing grocery bags. I use the small, medium and large but the medium seem to be the most ideal. The small are nice to separate out veggies or cleaning products. The large are nice for holding larger bulky items but they hold a ton so if they are filled with smaller items they get heavy. The medium are a great size and hold the right amount for easy carrying. The baggers love them because the bags are so sturdy it makes them easy to fill. The hardest part is getting the baggers to fill them to the brim. They are used to flimsy cheap bags.

The Boat & Tote is always the perfect gift and it can be monogramed. Everyone loves them. They never wear out.

I love this sturdy bag. I ordered the large which really is quite large - large enough to be used as a suitcase. So I exchanged it for a zip top one and am really in love with it.

I've owned a large & small bag for YEARS!! I use them for groceries, running gear, beach gear, overnight, pet gear, you name it. When they get soiled, pop 'em in the washer! Just purchased another one for my daughter for all her dance gear - I'm sure she'll have it forever too!

Love this bag! It's super sturdy and doesn't lose it's shape. I have bought several for gifts and for myself. The quality you get for the price is amazing! They also last forever! I highly recommend this bag!

I ordered several of these this year for each of my children. Every time they come to visit they somehow need one to take stuff home. These bags are heavy duty. We use them for boating and for groceries. They hold up to 400 pounds. The wear like iron and are useful for trips to the beach, picnics etc. We love them and they come in lots of colors so you can tell which one is yours. Sturdy fabric that stands up and even after being washed they are still strong. They come in many sizes. We like the medium and large ones. We prefer the ones that don't zip up so you can put in something tall ( like a keyboard). They are great for carry on luggage for a plane.

I bought the extra large and it is perfect for my trunk. It fits all of my reusable grocery bags and my winter necessities as well. Sturdy, well-crafted...I know it will last a lifetime.

About 1978, my first extra large boat bag was actually used to haul blocks of ice to my boat. Tough duty. The #1 Big Blue Boat Bag went on to haul gear for skiing trips, camping groceries, garden tools, and finally baby clothes on cross country family trips in our Cessna 182 aircraft. Four additional bags, Blue2, Red 1, Red2 and L'il Blue are for everything else a family of four needs to haul or organize. Today in 2016, the first bag is a little worn on the bottom corners and straps but continues in service. I am now buying 2 bags for my daughter to continue the tradition of "It's in the Blue Boat Bag!".

Over the years I've purchased the LL Bean Boat & Tote and used them until they were literally falling apart. But for some reason I got away from them and started using a variety of "other brand" tote bags. NO MORE. I recently purchased two more of the medium Boat & Tote bags to keep organized, and separate, the materials for two classes I teach. They still stand up, and open, leaving both hands free to pack the contents. They still look great after being thrown in the trunk. They still keep me organized. I'm an LL Bean Boat & Tote fan for life!
