For my first (and maybe last) foray into over the knee (OTK) boots, I finally bought and compared these legendary Stuart Weitzman boots to the Tory Burch Laila boots. I anticipated these Lowlands would be the winners because of their reputation, /status, much higher price point (currently 2.5x more expensive), and lack of heel (I generally prefer flats and the Tory Burch boots have a 2"heel). I was wrong. Both styles had beautiful suede uppers and were very well-made. The Stuart Weitzman reputation is deserved. But the Tory Burch boots fit better, were more comfortable, and looked more stylish on me-- because of their heel! These Lowlands looked a little 'granny' on my lower leg and foot. That said, neither style blew me away so unfortunately I'll be returning them to Zappos. FYI, i have an average proportionate leg with calves that are on the wider side and had no trouble getting either set of boots on. I may next try the Stuart Weitzman Midlands --which have a similar heel height to the Tory Burch pair. Thanks Zappos -- love ya!

I have wide feet and slim legs. These boots are made too wide for the legs.

I have thicker calves and could not pull them up. Quality felt luxurious. And the look and style are beautiful. Had to send back.

I love these too much, but even in a wide they're too narrow for me. I have wide feet, but can often get away with a M, (so they're not duck feet.) Usually a wide in any brand that makes them is wide enough. I've worn Stuart Weitzman in heels and loafers with no problem, sadly, not the case here.

Love these boots! I have skinny legs and have always struggled with over the knee boots being huge in the calf/knee/thigh areas. Had some issues with the first 2 pairs but Zappos was extremely accommodating as always. I ordered a size 7 in Londra color. I received a size 71/2 but the box said 7. Zappos sent a 2nd pair but they came in a brown box with no writing and the color of the boot, heel and sole were completely different. The fact they weren't in a Stuart Weitzman box concerned me. The 3rd pair was perfect. I would recommend going down half a size. Otherwise they will bunch around the ankle. I normally wear a 7 1/2,sometimes 8 in boots. The size 7 worked the best for me in these. I have narrow feet and the 7's felt a little snug around toes. There's plenty of room length wise. They feel fine with thin socks. The grey color is great! The look awesome with dresses, skinny jeans and leggings.

The boots were in good condition, however my wife was in search of the Leggylady which is a bit longer than the Lowland.

Expensive, but great fit! I bought the color Logan in a size 8 1/2 & I probably should have bought an 8, but I am going to add an arch support so the 8 1/2 will compensate for that. In fact, I was hesitant about buying them because they don't have a zipper. I didn't know if I would have a struggle getting them on. Actually they go on just like putting on socks & very comfortable & still sexy! The color, Logan, is more khaki-green than pictured. I was a bit disappointed in the color since I was expecting more of a cool-brown color.

My height is 172 centimeters and I am thin, these boots are very beautiful, and good quality, but they are walking with your feet slide! As if I did not delayed the tight leather lace - it flies - was too little in the foot, they are very strange boots.

Most comfortable and elegant pair of suede black over the knee boots. They run large, I'm normally a size 6.5 and the 6 fits me perfect. Even though the heel is low, the Lowland, elongates and make my legs look skinnier (For reference I'm 5'5"). Best of both world, comfort and style.

I have been waiting to splurge on these and I finally did it. However, to my disappointment, what is advertised on the website is no longer the sole they are selling. The new and updated under sole does NOT say the word Stuart anymore and it says made in Vietnam. Very disappointed, I called customer service and they confirmed that the new ones no longer have the rubber grip and " Stuart " on it. I may return .. A classic boot ruined ....

I wanted to love these boots. I have been looking at them for years. Well, I took the leap and I have to say. Not worth the $. They are not supportive, and the sole is not soft. I love the material, the suede and satin interior. Just felt MEH about them after I tried them on.

I never got to get my foot into these darn iconic boots! Ignore my arch support review, I had no way to mark it "I don't know." They said Wide on the box, but the inside of the boot and bottom were marked "7," and NOT "7Wide." Zappos could not tell me anything about how they are marked or why they did not have a W. SW main number said they did not know. The retail store told me that this year THEY DON'T KNOW WHICH ONES ARE WIDE. The maker did not mark them. The size on the bottom does not customarily show width, HOWEVER, the inside of the shaft should reflect the width and this year NONE OF THE WIDES were marked Wide on the inside. So, I think I got a pair that was not wide. I could not get my foot into the bottom, I felt like Cinderella's evil stepsister. I did think that the length was ok. I am going to try one more time and $870 (price with tax) more to see if the size is right this time. Pray for me ladies!
I'd also recommend:
La Canadienne for wide feet

Very narrow! I even ordered a wide width and it was narrower than my regular-width boots. Thought maybe I just got a mismarked pair so I re-ordered in another color and had the same issue.

Style and material were wonderful. I ordered the Wide for my medium-to-wide feet (not terribly wide) and these felt really narrow. They were narrower than all my other regular-width boots. Had to return as these were uncomfortable being too narrow (size 9.5 wide ordered, for reference).

I wanted to love these boots. For the money, they should have been perfect. I have skinny legs and they were too snug around my calves. I couldn't walk right in them because of that.

These are pretty, albeit a little plain. But they're nice. Unfortunately the wide was too narrow. I have wide 9.5 feet, but wear lots of shoes that are regular with no problem. These feel more like a regular 9.5.

I think I may be the lone dissenter here from the 5 star reviews. First the pros: gorgeous suede, footbed was like a slipper. The cons: the suede, although soft, was heavy and I felt like I was wearing chaps, especially when I sat down and bent my knee. Also, for the money, I just didn't think they looked THAT GREAT. I went with a lower-price boot with a suede foot and faux suede fabric top which I frankly thought was more comfortable - with a look that is completely the same.

Absolutely gorgeous boot. They fit true to size and make long slender legs look great. I purchased these in the slate grey color,(dark charcoal), and am pleased as these will go well with most everything. I do agree with other reviews in that these look best on those with slender legs. I would have purchased these in both the Praline and Bordeaux color as well had I not been disappointed with the quality of the interior lining. While it looks lovely it is lined with acetate fabric rather than a soft leather like the 5050 boots. This acetate fabric is used as a lining in most coats and while it is soft and shiny it does not hold up to wear. It snags extremely easily and eventually rips into, well you've seen the inside of a worn coat. There is no reason that at this price point these boot's lining should be cheapened. (Kind of like getting dressed up and wearing ratty undergarments). Hopefully Stuart Weitzmman will correct this issue. If so I will purchase another pair. This boot deserves no less than the quality of his 5050 boots.

I absolutely loooove this boot. I have been looking for an OTK boot for years as I wear a size 11. Very hard to find without a heel. My one complaint, and I was really disappointed by this considering the price and I waited a long time for these boots, the black rubs off onto might pants, which means no light colored pants or leggings. I wore these with my white jeans... when I pulled them off (so easy to pull off) I found my jeans to be grey! Luckily it all washed out but truly unacceptable for such an expensive boot. I had thought I would get the highland but now most def not.

Was really excited to order these boots, but was disappointed when they arrived. First, they looked like they had probably been returned a time or two (or three) based on packaging and stains. Secondly, just didn't seem like the normal SW workmanship to me. Inconsistency in the suede and mediocre workmanship. In terms of style, they were fine except super baggy around the ankles and pretty basic for the price. The lining is great however and they do slip on and off like a dream for OTK boots. Unfortunately, back they go!

You must have really skinny calves/legs for these to be comfortable, which I do not :( The part where the suede ends & the stretchy material begins is seriously tight. I also feel as if his boots are extremely overpriced & you're mainly paying for the name. The foot part should be structured a whole lot better for that price. What would be so bad about adding some arch support as well? The 50/50 boot is much more comfy for people with bigger calves/legs.

These boots made me very sad. They are so gorgeous and with the description of "stretch suede" I was optimistic they would fit perfectly with my athletic calves. Not so. While the suede is indeed stretch. there is a seam that runs around the middle of the shaft, very narrow, that does not stretch at all. It was like trying to put on a tourniquet. While I was eventually able to yank them on, they were so uncomfortable in the shaft, I knew I would never wear them. So, back they went. Zappo's as always, made the the return stress-free. The shoe part fit perfectly, but I have noticed in the past few years, SW cuts their boot shafts very narrow, same size for a size 12 as a size 7. So unless you have very thin calves, these are not a good bet.

I got a "WIDE" it didn't feel like a wide to me. The boot is not true to size. This boot is for people who have skinny feet
