Their service is excellent. However the quality and the fit of my last order was nothing like it used to be. Many years ago I bought a long sleeve flannel shirt in size men's small and to this day it still fits me perfect. I bought another long sleeve flannel shirt in size small I couldn't even get it over my head or put my arms through the shirt. Quality has gone downhill.

I sent it back to L.L.Bean a couple of weeks ago because the "slim fit" was a little too tight. I have the receipt from UPS. Please check this out. I requested the "regular fit", and I was hoping you would be sending it to me by now.

Why would they even consider making A2XL slim fat makes absolutely know sense maybe they should put that in the ad and not just put signature series

This shirt is awful. The arms are so long, I don't think they would fit anyone. The fit was a little big.

I want to like L.L. Bean products because the quality is great but they don't seem to make anything in my size. I specifically picked out a "slim fit" shirt in the smallest size and it was still huge on me. I don't feel like I'm an unusual size, I know plenty of people my size, but this was just way too long and hardly "slim" and looked very baggy on me. L.L. Bean, please let me know when you decide to make XS (or even XXS with your size measurements) and I'll be a happy shopper. Until then I unfortunately have to return this.

was billed as "slim fit". It was the opposite, I could have fit 2 of me inside the shirt. Returned it.

Too slim, restricting arm movement. Other Bean "slim" shirts I've purchased have been OK.

A number of years ago I bought the same in shirt in the traditional chamois color and loved it. I wore it so much, I needed to replace it. LL Bean no longer makes this shirt in the traditional chamois color. I called and spoke to customer service numerous times and they were no help. I ordered this shirt, color was bad so I returned it. I eventual found a company that make a better shirt in LL Beans traditional chamois color and have need to shop LL Bean again.

The overall fit of the small size is fine but the sleeves are just so tight. This is a really odd slim fit.

I have both chamois and flannel shirts from LL Bean in the past, and their weight fit exactly my expection. I was looking for a medium to heavy weight winter shirt in lighter color. However on this occasion, the material of the camois shirt was flimsy, loosely weaved, not evening matching the flannel level. The sleeves are a bit tight at the lower arm level. I have to return it this time.
LL Bean please, please restore your old standard in providing quality products.

Had this shirt for about a year and the material started to wear through in the sleeves. Wore the shirt for casual/office attire, not for chopping trees or construction. Tried to return it but was told it's normal wear and tear. LL Bean's chamois quality has really gone down recently, not worth the $$$$.

Never removed shirt from its protective wrapping. The color was obviously not what was depicted on the website. The other colors available (only three) are not very appealing. It is going back!

I am 5'10 and at 170 lbs have worn LL Bean medium shirts and sweaters. I have worn trim shirts and have a slight upper body build. I wear a 39 chest jacket with a 32 waist. So, typically a slim is great.
I got the shirt, felt a little tight across the back and felt like it lacked give when moving.[
After two washing, it was worse. The shoulder were tight, the back had no give, and the tightness around the chest could not be tolerated. A large was ok, but even that was getting small.
So, it is not really a trim fit.. it is a smaller fit and gets smaller over time.
Maybe ok for the very slim and tall, but even then, it will shrink over time.[
Back to the regular fit.

This review is for the DEEP LODEN COLOR ONLY (it also has light blue and salmon color in the plaid):
It is not chamois. Period. Not even flannel.
I'm not being picky, or nostalgic for the "better chamois of days gone by", or complaining about quality. It is simply a thick, slightly loose woven cotton--somewhat like linen but softer--and *smooth.* It does not have any "nap" to it whatsoever. And my first career was in fashion production--pricing fabrics and other items before the clothes were manufactured--so I do know the difference.
If you zoom in and look at an edge, such as the placket, you can see this; compare it to the royal red, for example, and you can see that color is a bit fuzzy. I'm a woman and own the signature tunic in that exact fabric and color and it IS thick, amazing chamois (with a bit less pink than the monitor shows). So I'm assuming this is a weird error for the Loden only, and that the ones that are chamois are just as nice as the women's version.
It might make a great shirt for the rest of the year, but it's not a winter cozy shirt, that's for sure.
Has a cool vintage vibe to it in that color, with the big buttons. My BF didn't like it though, so we returned it. Thanks Bean for being cool about it!

My brother has a bunch of these shirts and he loves them but unfortunately they don't make the number of colors they used to. I'd definitely buy a few if there we're a wider selection of colors.
