I've been buying and wearing LL Bean Chamois shirts since I was a kid. They're pretty much my winter staple. As an elder millennial, I love the slimmer, more modern fit of the Signature version. The fabric is super soft and cozy, with or without and undershirt.
Unfortunately the couple I've ordered this season to replace past worn out colors have not met the same standard for quality of construction. I even ordered multiple shirts to see if it was just a bad one I got at first. The issue is with the quality of stitching, specifically along the side seams running up up the sleeve. The stitch-count is so low and weak that it looks like a tough tug would pull the whole seam apart. The seams where the sleeves connect to the body aren't exactly confidence-inspiring either. My older shirts are much, much better in this regard and I wish LL Bean would go back to the older, higher quality. Thankfully, the front placket and pockets are much better, and look nicer. I haven't had any problems with the seams yet, but when you're paying bit of a premium for the Signature shirt, I expect better.

I wear XL, Dickies, Pendletons, T shirts. This body is a little tight, but the sleeves are long enough for a knuckle dragger. None of the other shirts require tailoring, this will, IF I keep it. The other chamois shirt I bought in XL was massive, as if mislabeled, they can't get it right.

I'm 6'1" and a 33" waist. I ordered this shirt for the slim fit- selecting the large, tall size. Trying it on, this cut should not be considered slim fit. The body is what would be considered regular fit for most brands. Sadly, I'm returning the shirt for this reason.
The shirt length in the tall version is perfect for a deep tuck. This is a rare find! I would want the tall version to add another inch of sleeve length.
LL Bean please make a slimmer, lengthier sleeve version!

The L fits my 42R chest great, but sleeves are too long and body is big and sloppy.
The M is perfect length sleeves for my 32/33 arm length and fits the body great, like I'd expect of a slim, but the chest is way too tight.
I've been shopping at llbean a lot lately and sizing issues like these happen on alot of my purchases, I'm starting to reconsider why I'm actually still shopping here..
PS, I ended up with the traditional fit apple cinnamon chamois shirt in size S. Fits chest arms and body great, but the shirt tails are awkwardly long. Really like the look of the shirt so I'm going to get it hemmed, but like seriously? I have to get stuff tailored after the fact. I just don't think llbean uses good QC people and I'm going to stop shopping here if these sizing issues keep happening, no one needs or wants that headache.

By the way, it's made in El Salvador.
Tag in shirt says 100% cotton. Is definitely not the same as the Pine Green. Really flimsy by comparison.
Lacks the full chamois of other Bean shirts. Won't return it. Need a gray shirt to add to my half dozen Bean collection Does fit extremely well. My rust and green Signature shirts are the best. Gray is a flop.

I bought this shirt because it was stated as a slim fit, but it was DEFINITELY not a slim fit. It was cut similar to a Cabelas shirt, very big. I returned it. On a plus side, that is why I buy from LLBean, as you can return for free including shipping.

very disappointed in the material. It immediately pilled and appears threadbare at the same time.

I bought the black 1933 Chamois. I've been purchasing these for years. This is the first time that I've noticed such poor quality. The material is paper thin compared to previous years. I'm talking the last eight years, not decades ago. I'm wearing one I bought a few years ago, and it is so much thicker and softer than the one I recently purchased. I've heard that LL Bean quality is declining, and I agree. I've noticed poor quality creeping into other items I've purchased from them. Very disappointed that this company is sacrificing quality to become fast fashion.

I really like the fabric, color options, and quality of these shirts. But, the fitting is completely off. For these shirts to fit well, I needed to have twigs for hands and a thin/straight torso. The XL was way too big in the torso, the arms fit well. The large fit well around the torso, but the arms were way to tight. I have worn a couple of other flannel shirts from Bean, but I could not get used to this fit. I am returning them for refund.

The shirt seems to be of good quality. The material feels good, I imagine it would feel even softer after a couple of washes. Nice big buttons that look good. But this shirt is massive. I have no clue how this is called a slim fit. I am 6'1, 210 lbs, decent shape but I still have a little extra around the midsection and I am swimming in this in the body. This would be a relaxed fit at best, and then a little large still.

Didn't like the shirt. Fabric too heavy and the print was unattractive.

After only two days of wear, the "chamois" is all pilled and showing bare spots leaving the weave of the fabric showing through.

I had to return it because the sleeves were super tight around my forearms. Would've been great for guy with skinny arms.

The shirt pilled after the first washing. I have several LL Bean chamois cloth shirts that are over 5 years old that have never pilled.

I have been wearing the Chamois cloth shirts for many years and they have been superb. I am very disappointed in the fuzzy fabric and big buttons. I am sad to have to accept this for version.

Black version purchased several years ago is holding up like a champ - newer (salmon, grey) shirts are already going thread bare after about two washes. Really a shame. Would continue to buy these classics if I knew that the company could stand behind value and quality. Noticed that newer shirts list "Made in Sri Lanka", versus older "Made in El Salvador".

I used to have a red and royal blue version of this shirt. I check every year for a color I might want, but the available colors are very anemic. Once again, no thanks!

I have couple of these same shirts that I've been wearing for at least 8 or 9 years and they are still in much better condition than the new ones I ordered. I couldn't believe the tremendous drop in quality in these new ones being made in Bangladesh. Terrible matted/pitted fabric and very sloppy looking. Poorly made.
