After 200 miles of both road and easy trails, I can confidently say this is the most comfortable distance running shoe I've ever worn. I've been wearing sketchers from the beginning of the go run line, but typically only use them for my shorter tempo runs, and now I have a Sketchers distance shoe that I can wear instead of my Hoka's. Crazy thing is I have a pair of super comfortable Altra's that I never really run in, but we wear on the plane and now this shoe eliminates the need to bring an extra pair of shoes on travel!

I use the shoe as my daily trainer when running roads. In my opinion, this is the best MaxRoad shoe to date.

I have been suffering from plantar fasciitis for almost 3 years now . And this is the only shoes that i can walk with over 10k shoes continuously without feeling pain at all. Thank you skechers! More of this kind of shoes please

The arch feels weird at first but once I ran 4 miles I realized my knee pain was gone. The shoe absorbs the shock of the concrete. For someone with wide feet these fit perfectly.

These shoes were provided to me at no cost however this review is of my own opinion and is in no way influenced by anyone other than myself. The Maxroad 6 is a great update to the ultra-popular Maxroad 5 that gained much acclaim in past years. The most noticeable update is to the midsole foam. The Hyperburst Ice felt really hard at first but very soon (within the first mile) the benefits of the dual layers became present. These shoes are very supportive while still offering a plush feel. The fit is super comfortable and my legs never feel beat up after running in these. Moving away from the "pillar" design on the outsole increases longevity and also adds to the snappy, responsive ride of the shoe. Make no mistake however, the Maxroad 6 with all of its max stack and outsole comes at a hefty weight. Coming from a lightweight racing shoe into this will feel drastic in both ride and heft, but the increased weight is hardly an issue if you are used to a daily training shoe.

Great shoes for long runs! The upper is super plush (and slightly hot.) I've used the shoes for multiple long runs (30km.) They are also in my weekly rotation for easy days. The shoes offer a lot of protection but still manage to be fun and give you something back when you get tired. Some reviewers complain about the pronounced "bump" in the arch but the moment you get into your stride the shoes start working and that awkward sensation completely disappears. These shoes are definitely not my first choice for going fast but they are my first choice for going long.

I have had the pleasure of logging 120 miles between two pairs of Max Road 6 over the last few weeks which means it's time for the review! (Skechers sent me the Max Road 6 for free for the purpose of this review). The Max Road 5 was an award-winning fan favorite in 2021. The Max Road 6 builds on the legacy of the 5 while upgrading the shoe from outsole to upper! NEW this year: A more plush, better fitting upper, a beefier goodyear rubber outsole with a lug pattern rather than pods, and a brand spanking new midsole compound (Hyperburst ICE). The end result is a max cushion trainer (41mm/35mm) that is both incredibly stable and efficient. Seriously, this thing just glides along the road and soaks up mileage. The rocker immediately rolls you forward on foot strike whether you land heel or midfoot. If you are a forefoot striker, the Max Road 6 will greet your feet with a propulsive bounce from a combination of the Hyperburst ICE foam and the carbon/pebax forefoot plate. The shoe feels great regardless of where you land. I reached for the Max Road 6 on those days where my legs needed a little helpbe it the day after a race or a hard workout. Hyperburst ICE is softer underfoot than original Hyperburst while avoiding being mushy/sloppy thanks to firmer Hyperburst around the medial and lateral edges of the shoe (dual-density midsole). I'm a huge fan of this new foam already and I'm excited to test it out in some lower stack models in the near future. The Go Run Ride 11 is next on the list! The upper is plush and comfortable and I had no issue getting the perfect lockdown. No hotspots or rubbing to speak of. No issues with sizing eitherit fits true to size in my men's 10.5. The only negative of the Max Road 6 compared to its predecessor is the increase in weight from 9oz to 11oz. Nonetheless, I have not noticed the increase in weight while logging easy miles. I've even done some strides down to mile pace in these and there was no problem whatsoever. As a matter of fact, the foam is even bouncier the faster you run as it moves my footstrike further forward to really take advantage of the plate/foam combo. I would not purposely grab this shoe for faster paced workbut it can get the job done if you are out on an easy run and all of sudden want to rip into a tempo. On the flip side, the increase in weight has increased the durability and comfort of the shoe ten-fold. The 5 was borderline flimsy with its constructionnot the case here with the 6! The 6 also isn't as flexible as the 5--which I also like as the flexibility of the 5 didn't agree with my hypermobile ankles. I recommend the 6 without reservation to add to your rotation as a max stack easy/recovery/long run shoe.

1st MaxRoad purchase and I'm pretty impressed. I'll add these to rotation and hopefully get lots of mileage as the outer GY sole has big potential IMO Comfortable right outta the box as well

I am a Skechers Ambassador. If you like max cushion this shoe is great! Mid sole and rubber are extremely durable. After 200 miles there is minimal wear. Great for long runs or logging daily miles.

I bought these looking to replace Nike Invincibles as my go-to recovery and long-run shoe. The main issue I have with the Nikes is that they have terrible traction and I can't use them if there is any level of moisture on the roads. In that regard, the Max Road 6s blow the Nikes out of the water as the traction is excellent. The Max Roads also have excellent midsole foam that's on-par with Nike, and I have no complaints about the level of cushioning or energy return (which is arguably the most important part of a max-cushion shoe). Where I start to have issues is with the upper - it feels like my foot is wrapped in 4mm neoprene.. it's comfortable, but very hot and not super breathable. I live in Houston so this becomes an issue for summer miles. I get that a max-cushion shoe generally comes with a plush upper to give that feeling of max-comfort, but I think the cushion can be limited to the collar area to achieve that feeling and then go with something thinner/lighter for the rest of the shoe. The shoe also feels very heavy - it's the same weight as the Nikes but for some reason they just feel heavier to me, especially after 5-6 miles (I wonder if they're just absorbing more sweat in that upper than the Nikes). These two issues have me using the Max Roads for short recovery runs but not longer slow runs. Overall I'm torn as to which shoe to continue with. I'll likely keep one of each for now, but I hope that Skechers replaces the upper with something lighter and more breathable on the next version so that this can be the hands-down winner.
