The fabric is thin. I will need to wear a slip with the dress which is hot in the summer. I won't be buying anymore Chill River dresses.

Wore it for a day at Ft. Worth zoosuper hot and muggy. Dress lived up to its billing of keeping me cool but the dress stretched out so much it was falling off my shoulders!!!! SIZE DOWN!!! Hoping to return for smaller size otherwise I'll be spending more than the dress cost to alter.

Dress is nice but runs a bit large and is significantly longer than what is shown on the model. I will have to shorten it before wearing.

The straight style with inseam pockets is not very attractive on me. As much as I like pockets, the placement and look of these doesn't work for me.

i took the advise of others and ordered one size down, it was OK. i wish i had ordered a large. Didn't like the way the arm holes fit. I have skinny upper arms so a little big. Great feel to the fabric.

I typically wear a medium, but this was very tight and the material did not feel breathable. Pretty pattern though! I am returning.

The fabric is beautiful, and the same quality as my other (6!) dresses. I live in these dresses in our hot, island climate. I should have seen the note that the dress runs large...the armholes are LONG. There is only one layer of fabric in the front, so, unlike my other Columbia dresses, a bra is necessary. I just don't find the fit as flattering. It's hard to get orders here, so I will keep the dress.

I am a big fan of Columbia clothing. Two of my favorite dresses are Columbia but this dress was not up to par. The fabric was thin, the arm openings were too large, and there was loose, saggy fabric at the neckline. I loved the print, the pockets, and the fit below the waist - all of which would have made this a great go anywhere dress. I am a size small and ordered a small.

Cute but fabric was way too thin and ended up too short. I'm 5'6"

Wanted to love this dress but just can't. Super cheap, thin fabric. It was clingy and did lay not lay nicely. The pockets stitching shows and that only adds to the cheap look. Very disappointed. I ordered the nocturnal blue which was a nice basic blue, not navy. This dress just does not seem like Columbia quality at all.

The dress itself is beautiful and a very nice material, but the armholes are way too large, and the material under the arms points out 90 degrees to your body, which looks really odd unless you've got your arms at your side. Had to send it back because the only remedy was paying a tailor to fix it.

I'm 5'2 138 lbs and I ordered a small. The fit of the dress was as expected. It was not clingy but fit close to the body. The reason for the two star rating is the extremely odd darting above the pockets on the front of the dress. The darts are very noticeable and call unflattering attention to the abdomen. Perhaps it wouldn't be as noticeable with a pattern but I ordered a solid color. There is absolutely a better way to do pockets in a dress of this cut. Poor design choice.

I love Columbia dresses so was really disappointed in the quality of the last one. I washed it once and the entire armhole stitching deteriorated.

Material and the general fit are great, but fabric under the arms is keeping weird as other reviews warned. I'll try to fix it myself.

This is the second dress from Columbia that does not meet the quality standard we have all come to know and love! This dress has a very flattering fit, but the material feels very cheap and thin. It is definitely overpriced for what it is. When the material stretches, it changes color/gets a washed out look (eg. when I tried it on the material on my booty is several shades lighter than how it looks on my top). Super disappointed with this purchase.

Very clingy. Shows every underwear line. Wish I hadn't cut off the tags.

Nice dress, seems like good quality, but both the small and extra small were too tight. Small is long waisted so medium wouldn't work.

I ordered this dress in a S and an XS. The arm holes on the S were sewn uneven; one was bigger than the other. The arm holes on the XS were too small. I have this dress in other colors from past seasons and I love them all. However, neither of these had the workmanship I am accustomed to from Columbia.

Nice color and fit but a lot thinner material than I was expecting. Didn't drape very well. I returned it.

I had high hopes for this being a good dress to wear hiking. However the material is the type to snag very easily and the high neck made it very unflattering and not at all stylish, returned.

The fabric is very thin and sheer. The pockets were uneven.

I purchased two of these dresses in the black rubbed color. I washed them before wearing and after, however, I developed a severe skin reaction to the fabric and dye used, requiring medical treatment. Sustainable fabrics and dyes are what fashion currently advocates and in the past I have purchased and successfully worn many garments from Columbia. I submit this review for others and plan to be more discerning in the future when purchasing clothing made of syntheic fibers.
