After about 5 short hikes of 2-6 miles the glue is failing and the rubber is pulling away. Also this model just doesn't hold your foot in place on slopes and hills. I love the ultra models, but these are not quality boots.

After 2 months of wear on these shoes I'm extremely disappointed with my purchase. The most frustrating part is that they're so close to actually being a great shoe. The rigidity in the sole, heel and top of the foot is spot on and feels agile and light on the trail, especially for a mid foot striker like me. However, as has been mentioned throughout these reviews, the lack of ankle support and poorly designed upper make this shoe nearly unwearable. The top laces are anchored far too low and are either biting uncomfortably into the tongue when laced tight, or loosely clinging to the upper and unable to be tucked in. Because of this I find myself constantly picking out debris that sneak in from the top and am constantly relacing to find a more comfortable position to no avail. The result feels like a low top trail running shoe masquerading as a mid height hiking boot. This could be a cool concept but the execution is poor and these will probably live in my closet till I can pawn them off to a friend as I look for a new hiking shoe elsewhere.

Overall the boots looked ok, they fit a bit tight but because of the lace system not being as tight as regular laces I thought it would be good. I wore them on a hike and by the end they were really hurting my feet. I then realized that Salomon had shipped my size 8 instead of 8.5... Otherwise the quality looked good, but I really didn't like the lacing system, it didn't hold your foot tight and if you didn't tuck the lace in right it was annoying.

Not under warranty but I would like to send them back anyway. I was looking for the Ultra 3; but this mid just did not feel comfortable on the foot. I wore them with inserts, different socks and walked between 5 and 8 miles. I just would not feel comfortable backpacking with this boot. I have the mid 4 ultra a bit clunky; but they fit.

I have worn them about 20 times. I was trying to replace the ultra mid 3. But I went back to the mid 4 that I bought. They will stay in my closet. They look like they have cushion; but I feel every step. I don't care for the lacing. Probably easy to fix in a lab, as the video shows; but how about a glacier with 80 mph winds.

The top lace anchor tor away from the boot the first tine I cinched them up. Probably the anchor needs to be riveted all the way through the last kf the boot.

Very confortable and light....when I bought them 3 officers in my job liked them so much they bought them as well.

Bought these shoes recently thinking they were 14 wide. Not even close way to tight very dissapointed
