I loved the feel of these. They are "grounded" without much heel to toe drop. Supportive, but light at the same time! Perfect combo. However, the forefoot is very narrow. I do NOT have wide feet and you can just look at the shoe and see the forefoot area extends straight up and does not curve out like a foot does. You will need a very narrow forefoot to feel comfortable in these. Seriously, I wear a B width and my pinky toe is being just slightly pinched in these. Going up a half size only led to shoes being too long. Very disappointed but had to return. Colors could be better also. A bit "blah" but it is a shoe and I am not purchasing for the color but for the application.

I am a 65+ year old petite woman. I search high and low for shoes that will be supportive, cushioned and allow some stretch for bunions. The Katabatic low, after breaking in, fit the bill. This style is not yet made in W, so the break-in period was necessary. My 4 stars reflect this. The shoe has a tiny bit of stretch in the fore foot, but the leather portion with the shoe lace holes is stiff. But after about 2 weeks, the leather has softened and the shoes feel great. They are a bit heavier than some hiking shoes, but that also provides excellent support and my feet feel hugged. If I didn't have bunions, these shoes would rate a 5+ stars.

Love this shoe! The Oboz Sawtooth waterproof has always been my hiking mainstay for comfort and stability, but saw the Katabatic Low and fell for the neutral-toned Snw Leoprd colorway so took a chance and ordered. Great decision, it's my new favorite for trails and city too

Let me first just say, these are THE single best pair of lightweight hiking shoes Ive ever owned! They are so comfortable, and fit me true to my normal hiking shoe size. Ive truly been the most impressed with the sole on the Katabatic Low. Ive used many fast packing shoes, and the soles on these are excellent, grip in all conditions (I do a ton of scrambling/ exposed hikes and theyve never let me down), and they last! I have this shoe in two color ways and plan on having many more pairs in the years to come!

The Katabatic fit at least a half size larger than the Sawtooth ll. The shoe felt pretty comfortable if it fit correctly. The heel also slipped for me which is a no go for hiking.

Great hiking shoe right out of the box. Hiked a 14er in CO day 2 wearing them with no hot spots or rubbing! Great purchase!

These turned out to be great shoes! I got the non-waterproof ones for summer hikes. The shoes have great traction and support me feet well. My first hike with them took us through water, shale, rocks and, finally, a nice dirt trail. The shoes performed well on all terrain.

Theyre surprisingly narrow in the tie box and the upper
plastic/rubber is uncomfortably stiff. Nice color though.

Loved wearing the Katabatic Lows during the Fast Trail Challenge. As an avid runner I always wear inserts in all of my shoes and I love how these were comfortable and supportive right out of the box without inserts. Ill definitely wear these a lot more since I know I can also wear them without any inserts. I hiked on rocky terrain, dirt, and pavement and they held up nicely on each. I was reluctant to wear low hikers but because the footbed felt supportive my ankles felt supportive as well. The tow box is roomy without looking big and the color ways are perfect for any outdoor excursion whether its a local jaunt in town or a day trip hikingtheyre super versatile.
Only thing I noticed that could be better is my feet overheated a bit. The solution I came up with was to wear a light cotton hybrid sock or light wool. There was no rubbing in my heel so this was all great workaround! Overall I love the Katabatics and cant wait to wear them out more.

I got the katabatic low in the dark island color. They are super light weight but still have great support. The tread grabs the trail nicely, and I really like the color, great for the trail and around town.

I'm a person who hikes often and I prefer light hikers for hikes under 5-miles. I was thrilled when Oboz launched their latest Katabatic and was able to test these out. I've taken these out on several hikes now and they have great traction and are super comfortable. I am excited I can also take these on my travels as they pack easily. I am ambassador, I LOVE that each shoe plants a tree. Don't hesitate to try these out if you love trail runners for hikes.

As always, Oboz is a well-made shoe. I have about 4 pairs with I love and wear constantly. While I was looking forward to this pair, I was disappointed in finding out that Katabatic Low was too flexible for my foot even after changing the insole to Superfeet. Had to return them.

These feel good on your feet, but even just wearing them for a few hours, my feet were in pain. I did the whole "break them in gradually" and they never felt good. I was disappointed - I've been looking for a solid, comfortable hiking shoe, and these weren't it.

Too painful. I really wanted/needed a good, comfortable hiking shoe and these just hurt, even after doing a gradual break-in. I have high arches and plantar fasciitis; no matter how long or how little I wore them, my feet hurt. Sadly, expensive, and I can't return them now. Do not recommend.

This was delivered very obviously worn and rather dirty, especially on the inside. It went straight back into the box and back to Zappos.
