Okay, solid was a weird descriptive word, but it fits. Very protective build. Comfortable right off the bat. Roomy with the toes. And, the color is amazing! Thank you, L.L.Bean, for another set of great shoes!

Have had these for a few months and couldn't be happier. Work on my feet for up to 8 hour shifts and these shoes have been very comfortable right from the start. I don't need the waterproofing so I bought these to prevent overheating. Toe box has plenty of room for my forefoot and heel narrows enough for a good fit with zero slipping as I walk. Did not need a break-in period for comfort.

Bought these for a 2 week trip to Italy that involved ton's of walking. They were perfect for the cobblestone streets in Rome, uneven roads in Florence, and slippery streets in Venice. Will be buying another pair. My feet and knees felt great after 5-6 miles of walking each day.

Extremely supportive and comfortable for hot weather hiking. It seems as though I have wide toes, but technically not a wide foot, so this shoe with its wide toe box makes for a very comfortable fit. They also feel lightweight and airy. After enjoying the shoe before the winter weather started, I did some researched into this brand to see if they had good winter hikers, and found that you can buy this brand else ware, a lot cheaper, and get the updated styles. That was extremely disappointing to discover. However, I used Bean Bucks so not too much lost other than my confidence in LLBean pricing and its Bean Bucks.

Very comfortable shoe. Runs a little small. Had to size up 1/2 size. Great support and color goes well with everything. Love the Oboz brand for hiking and walking shoes. Good construction and quality.

I love these shoes. I am struggling with my balance and when the leaves fall and streets are slippery these grip the walkways for me. I am not a hiker but most shoes I have purchased have smooth bottoms so these are great plus the color is attractive. Bottom line is I love them and I wear a size 7 and they are true to size. I've been wearing Oboz hiking shoes for over 20 years. I'm thrilled LLBean offers them since I've also been a Bean customer forever! Oboz boots and shoes are extremely well made with ecological concerns being most important to address with their product. Kudos to llbean for their care of our Mother Earth.

I needed fshoes or hiking that were not boots but had a more substantial sole than my sneakers. These are perfect. Also, they have enough room for my big toes.

These sneakers are comfortable and well made. They feel sturdy and i'm sure I will have them for a long time. I do a lot of hiking and walking so these are a good alternative when I don't want to put on hiking boots.

The Oboz hiking shoes were a perfect fit from the first wearing. (I normally wear a 7 1/2, and got an 8 to accommodate thicker socks.) The arch support is just what is needed for high arches. The shoe is comfortable and not too hot for extended walking, as well as lightweight. This was my first pair of Oboz, and thank you LLB for offering them.

I love this shoe.. So much so that I have two pair and plan to buy a third just to put in the closet since it is so hard for me to find hiking shoes that work. So I haven't really worn the two pair that much and since some of the reviews say to buy a size up...I can't remember if I did that or not. And the labels are completely faded so I can't see what size I bought last. Please make longer lasting size labels!

Comfortable from the first hike. The toe box is wide for maximum comfort. I just returned from a 6 day hiking trip and wore them daily without fatigue even on a 10 miler.

Well made, comfortable yet supportive light hikers and a nice looking alternative to every day sneakers. Also, if inspected closely, the soles can be seen to be raised relief maps!

This is a beautifully constructed shoe. When I received the size I normally wear (7 1/2) I was disappointed that the toe was short and tight. I ordered an 8, and it fits just fine. A good snug heel, great arch support and wiggle room for the toes. I am not a hiker, but I walk with my dog 3x/day, on grass and slopes. This shoe will give good support and traction in all weather conditions. For a senior in my mid-eighties, this shoe is great.

I was looking for a replacement to my low sapphires that I loved and wore to the ground. The ouzel low feels more like a sneaker. Its lighter and stretchier than the sturdier sapphires. Good for light hikes but Id opt for a more rugged shoe for harder and longer treks.

These fit perfectly from the moment I slipped my foot in. No break-in period required! Like the style too.

Brought these to Hawaii to do some hiking. Love them. Extremely comfortable and light weight.

Size was perfect, a little tight and they look great.

I have a heel that is a bit more narrow, and these hiking shoes eliminate that slippage in the heel. I like them so much I own 2 pair.

This is my second pair. My first pair I completely wore out the sole, but they co tinier to provide support u til I threw them away. I will definitely rely buy more Oboz in the future.

I love the shoes. I look forward to wearing them in the spring!
