The heal of the shoe is to short. In the picture it looks normal but in reality it is short and causes rubbing. Very similar to a slide on slipper. Would not buy again.

I like the style and the construction, but the shoes were too narrow for my feet, despite the fact that they were labeled as wide and I wear a wide.

The shoes are made of superb materials, and the craftsmanship also looks good. Unfortunately, the size I always wear in shoes is way too large for my feet in this shoe. I'll be returning or exchanging for a smaller size, hoping for a proper fit.

LL Bean's Bucksport shoe suffers under the tired quality issue found across much active footwear offered today: companies use cheap materials. It's great that a LL Bean markets Derby-style shoes in wide measurements, true to size. However, they skimped on the outer sole--don't get me started on the laces. The treads last 9 mos to a year max--sort of like buying cheap tires. Don't do what others and I did, buying new Bucksports after they quickly wear down. Instead of buying essentially disposable shoes at $150 a pop, you could purchase custom Derby-styled kicks from Nicks or Whites. I wish I had done that.

Bought as outdoor work shoe. Unusually narrow, barely enough material on the sides to lace up and pull to cover the tongue. Won't be able to wear with winter socks. LL Bean stamped right on top of tongue shows up like a billboard

I bought these, hoping for the best as I had read the reviews. Shoes look great, feel great, I wish that I could keep them, but there is a very noticeable clicking sound in the heal of my right shoe, left shoe 'squeaks' a bit, but there is some sort of manufacturing issue with the heal on the right side. If you happen to get a pair that does not click every time you step, you will probably like them I almost never return things, but this time i did.

I was very excited to get a good quality pair of shoes. Unfortunately the soles of these shoes are a disappointment. The soles are Vibram, however, there must be different types of Vibram. Instead of a good solid rubber sole, these are more like a lighter weight open cell foam with a skin on them that doesn't seem like it would do well in wet surface conditions. The rest of the shoe is very well made and I am sad that I have to return them due to a poor choice for sole material. The fit was slightly on the tight side, but not by a half size.

Very comfortable and well built. 2 stars because the shoes squeak, the foot bed (under the insole) does not seem to be properly adhered to the sole and makes a noise when weighted. Going to wear for a month or so and return if squeak doesn't go away.

The side of one heal had three parallel white stripes. The stripes were thick like chalk marks but did not come off when I wiped the area with a moist paper towel. The existence of the stripes caused me to decide to return the shoes. When wrapping the shoes, I noticed that one side of the sole of the other shoe had a white stripe as well.

nice enough looking shoe. materials looked ok too. but fit was poor. incredibly tight across top of my foot at bottom of the tongue. sent the first pair back. customer service was great and promptly sent out a second pair thinking it was simply a defective pair. same fit issue with the second pair. the second pair was actually physically damaged too...the leather surface was gouged on one of the shoes. sent those back too. haven't received my refund back yet.
have to say was a huge fan of ll bean for years... but have had to return several items over last couple of years. product quality has really taken a hit of late.

These shoes look great but that's where it ends. The most uncomfortable pair of shoes I think I've ever worn. The tongue constantly works it way down and the stiff leather puts a hurting on top of your feet. The insoles feel like they're not even there. These aren't cheap in price buy any means but the quality I question. I need to find my receipt and get rid of these asap

I wear size 11 1/5 wide and have flat feet. I have worn many pairs of shoes in my six decades on the planet, and these, paired with cushioned Darn Tough socks, are the most comfortable walking experience I have ever had. I use them for walking on grass and concrete sidewalks. I can't wait for these to become available in black and purchase a second pair. At over 200 pounds, I put a lot of stress on my feet and the shoes, particularly the Vibram soles, absorb all of it.

This is a stiff, ill-fitting, unforgiving shoe. First time I wore these, I took a two mile walk around Medicine Lake. I came home with nasty blisters on both feet.

Repeat purchaser but this time the same size I ordered the first time was too small. My feet haven't grown. I'm middle aged Back ordered too so I ended up waiting a long time for a pair that is uncomfortable and additional inconvenience would be necessary to get the right size.

In two months of usage the Vibron Sole is wearing out. The laces lasted barely a month as well. I expected far better of a Vibron sole.

I returned the Shoes. I currently own the exact same pair of shoes and they are very comfortable and fit perfectly. However, when I ordered the same shoe, same size, the new shoes felt at least a half size bigger on one foot, and more like a full size larger on the other foot. Very disappointed. Not the quality that I expect from LL Bean.

I like it but the weight of the shoe needs to be reduced. Too heavy makes a long day on your feet

Too large! Love the shoes. But, these shoes don't even come close to normal shoe sizes.

Comfortable shoe but the Vibram treads under ball of the foot when flat (wore off) in a month. Need a better quality of Vibram for the price.

This is a follow up to my review on APR 10, 2022 about the original foam Vibram sole that these shoes come with. Since having a hard rubber Vibram sole installed in 2022, I have worn the shoes for over 2 years and finally needed to have the heels replaced this year. The rest of the sole is wearing well and expect to get another 2 years out of them. It's unfortunate that LL Bean is making a shoe with such high quality leather upper matched with a sole that is soft and worthless. If they put a proper rubber sole on these shoes they would be great and long lasting as you would expect from LL Bean.

I got these shoes around the first of the year specifically for the Vibram soles and the tread is almost worn off, I am on carpeted cement at work and on my feet 75% of the day, the laces did not last either due to poor quality or sharp eyelet holes, uppers seem well made and they were great at first, broke in easy and comfortable, good support, if they had a tread that did not wear off like a pencil eraser they would be awesome shoes, I might see if I can get them resoled with a better tread.

I bought a pair of these in store, walked the shoe dept, and decided to buy them based on looks and comfort. A couple days later I put them on and went out. After 10-15 minutes the right heel started to creak and sound like it sticking to a floor with a sugary drink dried on it. I returned them to the store, and they were happy to exchange them. Didn't think it would plague the second pair too. Did the dept walk and all was quiet. A few hours later I put them on, and a few minutes later both pair blared out this creaking sticking sound.
Took this pair back told the counter person I would put the shoes on so they could hear the sounds being made. I also suggested they pull the shoes from the store catalog and discontinue them.
To top it off they tried to credit me with an in-store credit card good for purchases at LL Bean stores only. I told them I paid with a credit card I expect to be credited through that same credit card. It took a manager's approval to have that done.
Not the kind of experience that would have me buy anything else from LL Bean.

Very disappointed with the noises from both heels in this pair of shoes. Love the look and they feel good, but I will return. It seems there is some void between the insole and vibram sole as if the layers did not bond properly.
