I got this in petite large and it fits me...5'3" on a good day I got the sale color, deep wine and it is a knock out...good for the holidays. Plan to wear a vest with it to break up its vivid colors.

I feel restricted wearing a coat, so I really like these heavier-weight shirts for wearing on cooler days.

Dreamy substantial fabric, great soft color, feminine twist on great outdoorsy piece

I've been wearing this shirt a few days a week since receiving it. I love it. The coral colors are vibrant and beautiful, the weight of fabric is just right to take the chill off, it fits perfectly (I am 5 foot 1 inch and about 115 pounds and ordered a petite xs), and have gotten many compliments on the shirt. I just washed and dried it on low. There are a couple of loose strings showing by the button holes, but otherwise held up well and didn't shrink. If another color goes on sale, I'll be buying it!

In an attempt to save money on heating oil last winter, I bought this shirt to wear as an overshirt around the house. Pretty sure I wore it every day last winter and with the current chill in Massachusetts, I'm wearing it again. It fits beautifully over another shirt, keeps me warm and looks good enough to wear out to the market and running errands. Yes, it's thick and heavy, the pockets in the side seams are a little weird but if I can decide which color l like best, I'll be ordering a second one.

I don't usually write reviews but I just got this 1912 overshirt and I'm blown away. I never knew a twill fabric would be so soft and luxurious. This is a really substantial shirt-jac, but so beautifully made with amazing craftsmanship. I can't praise this shirt-jacket enough. The hand pockets are the cherries on top. Not to mention a perfect fit, enough for layering over a shirt without feeling bulky. Extraordinary. And just in time for fall..... it will definitely be my go-to garment through the winter and into spring. Can't stop gushing about it, I'm so impressed with LL Bean quality.

I really like the thicker texture of this shirt and it is a perfect overshirt for cool mornings. My only dislike is how far back the pockets start...the pocket is nice and deep because the opening is so far back, but it is awkward to try to put your hands in the pockets to keep them warm.

I had been looking for an overshirt made with material and substantial fabric to wear in cool temperatures. I found it in L.L. Bean's 1912 Overshirt! I tried it on as soon as I received it and it is exactly what I was looking for. I tried it on and it fits perfectly. I am 5'1 so I ordered the Medium Petite size in Blue. Definitely will be ordering this overshirt in another color, just need to decide which one. I like them all! I am very happy with my purchase!!

Heavy weight and cozy. I'm 5'2" and 106 pounds and ordered XS Reg - it was plenty big with room to spare. Long enough, too. I'm very happy.

I've now bought two of these - love the weight, super comfortable. This time, got the Sailcloth color and for those wondering like me, the colors are a red/orange and smaller light orange (not pink as it almost appears online) I'm very happy with the colors (was hoping for more of an orange color on the plaid). I normally wear medium in tops at LLBean, but I go for small in this for a a better fit (the medium was very loose on me).

It's great! Best for me as an over shirt. Bulky warmth for cool to moderate temps outdoors and over air-conditioned businesses indoors. Nice cut. Generous, not boxy. One word would;d say it all, 'sturdy'. Wash in cool or cold water.

Another reviewer said she bet you can't buy just one. And she's right. It's true, i just keep reaching for it for so many reasons. And it's one of those materials you're going to love more with age. (Like the cord big shirt. Get at least 2 of those, too.)

Soft fabric, good quality, good fit. True to size. I look forward to wearing this as a top layer on an autumn vacation abroad!

This is a gorgeous shirt. The weight of the fabric is substantial. I got it as a camp shirt, but, as my family says, it's too nice for a camp shirt. It has quickly become my favorite!

I had submitted a review saying that this was a wonderful shirt, and that the colors were beautiful, but forgot to say which colors! I ordered the Washed Orchid, and the pastels are really so pretty!

Nice soft and thick shirt. The extra side pockets are great. This is a nice alternative to a hooded sweatshirt.

I love this shirt! It weighs a ton! -- that is, its weight is much greater, heavier, than you would think. But when you put it on, it doesn't smother at all; in fact, it feels great on. I love the colors! And the side pockets are really a plus.

I like the pockets and softness of this shirt. I bought the pale pink color.

Haven't really worn this yet as it's summer and way too hot. But I can't wait for fall because it is gorgeous and fits perfectly and is the perfect warmthand weight. I love this shirt jacket and will have a lot of use for it outside all fall long and probably inside through the winter. Really great looking on, and right now hanging in my closet.

This is my first overshirt, I have several other LL Bean shirts( flannel and chamois). It is just perfect too! It washed up great, I only put it in the dryer for a few minutes to relax the fabric. Another great shirt LL Bean!!
