Here is a real review, with true thoughts. This is a nice outer shirt to wear when the fall arrives, but they made it in such a way that I don't think I want to keep it. The pockets are great, however, the pockets are huge on the inside of the shirt! There is a very large blue cheap denim material that is the pocket and it makes for an inside the shirt pocket as well. Then the lining stops. And the rest of the shirt is scratchy. I know I will be wearing a shirt under this one but I think the quality of this shirt is very poor. As a matter of fact, I am going to return it now that I have written out what I don't like about it. LLBean should have better quality standard than this! I would add photos but it has to be in certain forms that I don't have time for.

Has huge pockets the full depth of front half of jacket. Large pocket opening in perfect spot to catch on doorknobs. Had to take to tailor to have pockets removed and opening sewed up. After doing that, it's a great heavy shirt with nice, soft fabric and generous fit.

My husband gave me the gorgeous red sailcloth version for Christmas & I so wanted to love it; everything is perfect except for the pockets, a must-have for me. Pockets on the side seam, really!? Bean's makes jackets for Pete's sake! With pockets ON the seam it's awfully hard to actually get your hands IN them, & with this jacket every single time my arms get hung up on my shirt cuffs. That said, you did cut construction cost & still charged loyal customers a premium price think I'm buying a shirtjac from Bean's again? Likely not. I'm rural: returning items is an issue & you're losing my trust.

Sent wrong color. Got that corrected but is still a horrible shirt. Way too heavy and big! You make substantial shirts and have a great selection of jeans for men. Women should get the same quality and selection
Ur going downhill in a good many things LLBean.

This shirt is all bad. The cut is unflattering. Side-seam pockets at hip level make hips look large. Sleeves that come to my fingertips and when the cuff is buttoned add 5 or 6 inches bulky fabric to my arms. The fabric is bulky but a loose enough weave that it wouldn't be very warm. There is a peculiar quarter lining of pocket in the front of the shirt that is ugly cheap looking cotton. The shirt is rather long adding to the stumpy look. I'm 5'4" and usually wear size 12 or medium sizes but this medium makes me look like a stout dumpy old lady. I got the orchid color way which I thought I would love and even that fell short. LLBean have been my source for casual wear for decades but in the last few years it has been slipping. Their Pima Tees are still my favorites.

It's not obvious unless you actively search for the info, but this shirt jacket has builky side-seam pockets over the hips and stomach that are really obnoxious. Why does a shirt need FOUR pockets? Returned.

For the price, I expected special fabric and a thoughtful design. I was particularly excited about the on-seam pockets. Sadly, the material is average and the pockets are not well designed and did not work for me at all. I returned it.

The interior is rough and scratchy but the exterior was a beautiful color and soft. I returned it.

I had high hopes for this but returned it. The fit is boxy and awkward feeling. It was on a daily special but even at. Sale price was too much money. LLBEAN'S quality has taken a major hit. I would prefer to pay more and receive better product.

This shirt just arrived and I have already packaged it up to return. The button holes are much too smallI hurt my thumb trying to unbutton the shirt to try it on. And the fabric is very oddheavy and loose knit, making me think the shirt would hang funny on. I am very disappointed. PS. I had to say how it fit but have no idea since I couldn't try it on.

The fabric of this shirt is a flexible knit that will look baggy if the shirt doesn't fit quite right. The fabric also felt physically heavy to wear compared to other overshirts that I have. Finally the buttonholes on the shirt that I received were too small for the buttons, which made buttoning and unbuttoning difficult. Returned.

Upon opening the package i found a very cheap feeling shirt. The fabric reminds me of really roughly woven blankets sold at flea markets and/or handed out in hospitals. It's somehow both not thick enough and also not fine enough. It has a combination pocket lining and belly lining made of an oxford cloth material which is not nearly substantial enough. I'm pretty sure that one wash will cause the whole thing to shrink in such a way that it will be too small and also allow this lining to droop and be a nuisance. I love LLBean GENERALLY, and I'm aware that the quality has been steadily falling, but this was a particular disappointment.

Didn't like the material or the pattern after I saw it in person. Looked too sloppy, like it had been washed already.

I was really surprised about the fabric for this shirt. I would describe it as kitchen dishcloth. It is loosely woven and kind of rough. The sizing seems a bit off. The width of the shirt at the chest is easily one inch smaller than any other of my LLBean shirts in this size. I am returning.

Did the item description say "super soft fabric" ? It is rough, coarse , stiff and itchy. The color is not what I expected. ( but that could have been my computer screen) The lining is strange and almost looks like a huge pocket inside and it only goes half the way up. Why? ( what's gonna happen to this in the wash ?) But most of all, LLBean, please tell me what in the world were you thinking with these buttons? They are next to impossible to unbutton, and I tore off BOTH my thumb nails trying to get them open. Buttoning the shirt once it is on is impossible. Not worth almost $100.

the description was not accurate. It is thick material but loose and is not lined completely - just part of the shirt is lined. Not sure how this will work out when washed.

Title says it all for me. I returned it. Neither jacket nor shirt, chunky not comfortably casual. Fabric was very nice, soft but rustic in twine/weave/plaid pattern. Size is correct (shoulder fit= expected fit; the rest squarish and baggy). Mind you, I am slim, so others might fill out the shape where I do not.

This was way too big and not by just a little bit. The cuffs went a full inch past my fingertips. Something is different about the way LL Bean is sizing their clothes. I have bought from LLBean for years but my last two orders were off size. Some things seemed to be two sizes small and others one size too big. It's hard for big women to get well made, pretty clothing and I was so happy to have found clothes I loved at LLB. But I won't be purchasing from them anymore because of the change in sizing. I never know what I am getting now.

The inside of this has shirt has a lining at the bottom third where the pockets are. The liner rides below the shirt so you can see the light denim pocket liner from the front and I didn't like it at all. I returned it.

This shirt is very beautiful in color and pattern, but I have only been wearing it around for about two weeks and big threads have pulled out of it in the front. It is not made for longevity which used to be a signature of the brand. It looks like it is falling apart now.

Material is too rough and arm length too short. Not the soft cozy flannel that I envisioned based on description.

Button holes were to small, I could not unbutton it to try it on. I would think for an $80 shirt that I would be able to unbutton it.
