Perplexing design - too bulky to wear comfortably as a regular shirt and ill-proportioned to serve as a jacket - short sleeves, high front pockets, narrow shoulders. The side pockets are too high to comfortably put hands in. I like the quality and feel of the fabric, and the color, but am concerned that it will really shrink when washed.

Purchased and received this shirt recently....Did not like the loose weave material...Too big and too boxy....Decided to purchase an LLBean flannel shirt instead....This shirt was just not my style....

When I opened the package the shirts had a very funny smell. I had ordered 2 of theses 1 for my mom and 1 for me. They both had a terrible odor. Washed both shirts and they are ok. Would not order again!

Bought this when it first came out last year. I didn't think it was worth what I paid. It didn't look like LL Bean quality, but I kept it. Made in India. I have washed just once as direction indicated and it shrunk and became out of shape. It just doesn't look good anymore to wear. Not worth money paid.

I loved this shirt jacket including the pockets. It fit perfectly. I sized up for a loose fit which I prefer. After I washed it on cold and dried on medium, it shrank so that the hem was too short, and the sleeves were too short, and the fit was uncomfortable and made me look like a kid who outgrew her clothes. I'm so sad that I can't wear this after laundering, but will donate it to charity. I considered getting an XL next time but I'm afraid it will still shrink so that the hem and sleeves are too short even if it fits around the chest after shrinking in the laundry.

I kept checking to see if this shirt would go on sale but finally just bought it for full price & I am really disappointed. As I write this, I am literally trapped in the shirt because the buttonholes are so small I am having trouble getting out of it. It came buttoned up & even my husband who is my go to to for anything that requires strength to open had trouble unbuttoning it. I put it on and buttoned it figuring it would be easier to unbutton while wearing it. It hurts my hands so much & split my thumbnail with the effort. Ow. There is no excuse for such poor quality but mid review I gave it another try and with great effort got it unbuttoned. I don't recommend it for anyone with arthritis or manicures. It's brutal. Loved the color & style so it's a shame the craftsmanship is so poor. i bought XS for my 5'4" 106 lb frame and the fit is true.

Usually medium is my favorite for looser fit things but this shirt was more fitted in the torso and perfectly fitted in shoulders, tight across the back. That chambray lining was a bit much in the shoulders and made it 2 different weights of shirt. Would be too warm in summer and then not warm enough in fall.

1912 overshirt; ordered my usual XS Petite in the Washed Orchid. The plaid looked very pretty online. Washed it before wearing & low heat in dryer. Came out of dryer shapeless. Laid very heavy on my body without a T shirt underneath. Seemed short in length even for a Petite; not like the photo online. My garment needed a lot of ironing to make it look like the pic online. Very disappointed. Will be returning it. If the same Orchid plaid was in a flannel shirt I would buy it in a minute! I will probably order a flannel shirt instead.

I loved the pattern and color; also loved the fact it was twill and not flannel. Material was a nice weight; heavy, as expected. However, the inside pockets were made of cotton, and so large, they hung loosely; They could be seen hanging limply if you wore the shirt unbuttoned; they were way too large. Returned.

Now what I was expecting- the fit was very bulky. The print is nice but I should have returned but didnt want the hassle. I don't like to wear it.

Don't like the way it looks or feels. I made a mistake. I meant to order a flannel shirt.

I got the shirt in orchid color. Beautiful plaid. So disappointed when I unbuttoned the shirt to try it on and there was those ugly, massive, obvious, stiff blue fabric pocket liners. That was an immediate deal breaker, the shirt was returned. If you wear this shirt unbuttoned the pocket liner is very noticeable. I wish Bean would figure out a better way or just skip the side pocket if they can't.

They have sewn 2 different fabrics together (shirt material and pockets) and they shrink at different rates. After one wash, the shirt looks dumpy.

Very small couldn't wear a t-shirt under it. I would order a size up. Not sure what happened with the sizing. The regular flannel has a lot more room.

Not like they used to be overshirts. Pilly and rough feeling material right out of the box. Not worth that money.

Supposed to be a relaxed fit, but it didn't fit like other LL Bean shirts she had, too tight over the hips. We had to send it back. Noticed a trend here, even your field shields are trim cut which means hard to layer. Maybe you should offer a rugged look coffee house cut and then the old real McCoy?

I love the fabric and weight of this shirt, but the fit is boxy and unflattering to a petite hourglass figure. I wish this had a little more tailoring.

I waited for this to go on sale and ordered, anxiously awaiting my shirt. Pure disappointment upon trying it on. The sleeves are much too short and the material just kind of hung funny. If you're between sizes, size up one if you want to wear this over a medium or so thickness layer. I have much more room to layer with my same sized Scotch plaid flannel (relaxed fit) or LL Bean corduroy shirt. This is going back.

So much to live about this shirt but it is all overshadowed by shrinkage. Colors, feel, and details are great.

I am a huge LL Bean fan and find their quality/value to be outstanding. Unfortunately, this shirt did not hold up to the usual quality. Washed, and not dried, this shirt shrunk horribly. It is possible that it is just a bad lot of fabric and I will consider trying another.

I was excited to see the color and not a flannel so could layer in spring/summer. It gets cool at night by the ocean. With double and triple layers at the collar, chest pockets and placket the shirt was very heavy on top. This was unflattering to my plus size apple shape. The side seams were a little crooked in areas. It was very difficult to unbutton due to thick placket. The side pockets were huge in plus size and as opened at side seam was difficult to access. The side pocket material was also thin so would wear holes well before the shirt was worn out. It may work well on a smaller person. I still love the colors and texture. I tried it on 4 days in a row hoping it would be different.

I love the color--Yellow and blue! But I couldn't keep it. The fit was baggy and the side pockets made it hang on me in a very unflattering way. I had high hopes it would be darling, but for $90. I couldn't justify it.
