Wanted to love this coat. Really. It is so warm and very comfortable. I love the style. However, I only wore it for 3/4 of last winter season and the rims of the sleeves are fraying. The top layer of the fabric has holes all around the wrist. For such an expensive jacket I would expect more from the quality.

The jacket is great and love the color - ordered the brown. I have an older heavier'model' of this jacket that's probably 10 or so years old and love it but it's pretty worn. It's a misses xs. This new jacket I ordered in an XS and it's definitely a full size too big. Maybe there aren't any XS's and this mislabeled? I'm pretty true to size and have not lost weight. I'm 5'4" and 120lbs. The sleeves are longer but I like that - covers gloves and wrists. I could tell it would be just as warm as my old one but it is definitely lighter in weight and bulk. Great jacket - just sized wrong. Really bummed - love the color and length and weight ....just way too big.

This jacket had all the features I want in a jacket: a two (2) way zipper (a Must), pockets that have hand warmers behind the pockets, not too bulky. But - - -it ran small and the sleeves were too, too long and tight enough that they could not be turned up. I would only recommend this to a friend after explaining about the fit and if they had long arms. Also the medium size fit me the same as my old small jacket, which by the way had all the features I want in a jacket and is of similar style.

I REALLY wanted to like this coat. It seemed like just what I wanted: functional yet feminine looking. I still believe this about the look of the coat, but the fit was off for me. I usually wear a medium in LL Bean clothing (have a 38" chest measurement), so that's the size I ordered. I'm a bit under 5'4", and have an hourglass shape. The coat was roomy in the shoulders and just roomy enough in the chest with layers, but had virtually no shape, so was too narrow in the hips. I expected it to be longer on me too, but it fell high- to mid-hip. This coat might work on a taller, straighter body. Too bad sizing up probably won't help me in this case. The coat does look good. I got the loden color and it seems much darker green than I expected (brown trim is darker too), which I liked. There are a lot of pockets, but aside from the high hand warmer ones (which might be awkward for some), they are too small for much of anything, even the flap pockets. The place of the inside pocket is also too high I think. I found this coat to be much thicker and bulkier than I expected. It doesn't allow easy movement but it should be good in cold weather. I wasn't really looking for a thick winter coat, however. Finally, this coat is a lint magnet. Any dust or pet hair will stick fast to it, and due to the nature of the fabric, it won't just brush off with a swipe of your hand. All a shame so sending it back.

Purchased this last December and after only half a season there are holes along the sleeves and the pockets have worn as well. Granted, I bought it to do moderately heavy work in on my farm, not just walk the dog, but for the price it is not hard wearing at all.

Wanted to love this waxed jacket.... first time I wore it got caught in a very light rain for 30 min. Took days for the coat to dry out. Returned.

I love the jacket and fits great. Entire package smells like mildew or mold.

After reading reviews of this jacket's zipper being a problem, I was hesitant to buy this..but thought I would give it a try in case I got lucky and got one that worked properly..as it fit so many of the criteria I was looking for in a jacket. First, the color is dark brown..much darker than it looks online. Second, the fit is strange. Very unflattering in the chest..looks flat and boxy..arms feel too long..and the pockets are small (if I were wearing gloves I would have to struggle to get my hands in!) It is very insulated and warm so that is a plus for sure..but I broke into a sweat trying to unzip that zipper!! Absolutely frustrating and totally unacceptable for the price of this jacket at $239!! I really had high hopes for this item, but I am returning it...I don't know what has happened to the quality control of this company..it used to be the best, now it seems to be very lacking.

Bulkier than it looks. Unfortunately had to return because it ran small (especially at shoulders) and was too heavy/bulky to move in. Besides that, it looked like a beautiful jacket.

This looks great in the picture and sounded perfect for chilly fall weather. However -- the brown color is NOT brown; it's more like a murky faded black; the sleeves are way too long and there's no nice corduroy cuff to roll up. But mostly it's stiff and weighs a TON! I like things a bit more boxy with room for layering, so this was more form fitting than I wanted, but I would have gotten used to that if only it didn't feel like I was imprisoned in it. Oh well. It goes back and the search continues.

I am 5'6 and 128lb, bought this jacket in XS. While the quality is great, the fit is off. The jacket seems very boxy, the sleeves are a bit too long. But most weirdly, when you close it, the jacket does not lie flat but bubbles around the waist. I did not find any issues with the zipper like other reviewers. But due to the fit, the jacket went back.

I bought this jacket last year. It is warm,attractively designed, and fits well. BUT, the zipper is terrible, got stuck when I received it and had to return it(this is #2). The zipper continues to be a problem every time I wore the jacket. Also, the issue that really bothers me.... THERE IS NO WAY TO CLEAN THIS JACKET!!!! You can't wash it, you can't dryclean it!!! Whoever heard of a piece of clothing that CAN'T BE CLEANED???!!! Very dissapointed. I may still return it...

I got this jacket in xs and it was huge all over!!! Yes, I am petite (5"2 110pds) but seriously, the xs was super humongous. I wish they would offer truly xs sizes or petite options. Too bad, LLbean not for me

This jacket would be so perfect if they would create it for freedom of movement. I work outside with horses for a living. I love the durability and the good insulation. It fits perfectly until I try to move my arms in any direction. Then it just pulls - across my back, on my elbows, across the front of me. I'm very thin and very small chested. So it's not me. Sizing up won't help. LLBean just didn't make a jacket you can actually move in. Very poor design in the fit and lack of range of motion. So sad.

Zipper didn't work on two coats, returned both....

This jacket, after wearing it about 4 times looks like it was rolled in loose cotton and hair. I'm not happy with the outer layer collecting dust and anything in the near vicinity.

The photo of the jacket was exactly what I was looking for. I always order XL so I wasn't concerned about the size. I received the jacket. First of all the color was awful. Secondly, the jacket was way too small. Definitely not a true XL. Too bad. It is a nice style. Needs to be a different color and true to size.

Could not get rid of the petroleum smell from the wax coating. Returned the coat.

I really wanted to love this jacket. Ultimately, it was just too boxes and uncomfortable. I couldn't justify the price for a coat I wasn't 100% about. Returned.

I purchased this coat to replace a wool LL Bean jacket that I loved. This coat is warm (a plus) but the zipper is horrible. It is a project getting the zipper unzipped. The worst aspect of this coat is that you CANNOT wash or dry clean it. I have worn this coat for 4 months and it looks awful. I have tried sponging it (as recommended on the label). I contacted LL Bean and was told I could sponge the coat with a light soap. I did this and had absolutely no effect. The coat looks dirty and I will probably end up returning it.

I ordered this jacket in size medium for my adult daughter, who has a number of LLBean coats and jackets, all in size medium or small, which fit her well. This jacket was so small that she actually couldn't get the two sides to meet in front so that she could zip it! Also, the green is much darker than I expected, and the jacket was significantly shorter than the photograph of the model would suggest. We returned it.
