the coat was sized to large and not in a good way. The feel of the outer material was rough to the touch. I did not like the whole look of the coat. I returned it.

I really liked this coat but it runs small very small so returned.

I like the coat for its warmth and length. However, I think the cut is a little off. From the waist down there is ample room. But the cut of the top half of the coat is skimpy, and doesn't feel as though it goes with the rest of the coat. I'm a size 8, so the medium coat should be plenty big enough - and it is, except across the top. The hood also doesn't fit well. Instead of staying in place on the head, it slides all the way forward so that visibility is a problem. I'm usually a big LL Bean fan. But this is not one of my favorite items.

Unflattering silhouette. Garment is made very well. Nice texture to fabric but was unsure of warmth provided. Sent it back. Bought for my 92 year old Mother who is 5'6" of average build.

I was disappointed in the fabric of the coat. Very stiff and not flexible. The fit was good and the length.

I really like this jacket. However its not as warm as i thought it would be. I wear another fleece under it. Its a good looking jacket, flattering for a thick pile, but it needs something to make the inside equally warmer.

It was not soft and fuzzy on the inside. It was pretty stuffy and rigid. It fits very tight through the shoulders.

Warm enough to throw on while walking the dog. But the fit is quite unflattering.

I really like the exterior of the jacket and love that it came in navy. I'm disappointed in the interior fabric which feels like a wet suit/scuba material. The designer missed a real opportunity to put in some interior pockets so you wouldn't have to carry a purse. I also don't like the burnt orange interior color. The jacket is very warm though. I think it's double the price of what it should have cost.

I have no doubt this coat would be warm, but it is not cute. Looked like I was wearing a bath mat. It was not fitted enough to be that shaggy. Also the sleeves were crazy long. Just all the wrong fit.

Not sure because I have not worn it yet. It does look nice though.

I ordered an XL and it was way too small so I sent it back and requested an XXL. They sent me the exact same coat (XL) that I sent back.

Coat was quite warm and comfortable but I returned it because it was unflattering. I don't see why a product can't serve the purpose and look great - I think a drawstring at the waist would do it wonders.

Buy one size bigger than you normally wear. Also it is not soft and fluffy. The fleece is very coarse. As is the lining.

The coat is nice. The lining is a bit stiff but I can work with it. I expected the outside to be much softer but that's okay too. I measure 36 38 46 respectively. In the size chart it says that the large regular fits 45 bust. My coat is snug. I won't be able to wear a thick sweater under it. Let's hope I don't gain any weight. I would exchange it but I hate the process. I just packaged for exchange.

I normally wear a size medium in L.L. Bean clothing, including jackets, and it usually fits a bit loosely. However, this jacket in size medium was very tight in my armpits and across my bust. I returned it and exchanged it for a size large. The large was way too big, especially below the somewhat cinched waist (this portion fit okay in the size medium). It was almost like a skirt below the waist, sort of belling out. I returned the size large as well and got a refund. I've ordered other Bean coats and jackets with no problems with the sizing. I suppose if one has very wide hips (pear-shaped), you could size up one size on this coat and it might fit. However, I would not recommend it.

I wanted to love it but, in the end, I returned it. You may love it, though. I love sherpa for its warmth and coziness. The length was terrific. The look and fit were great. What were deal-breakers for me was the lining and the short-pile sherpa. I believe the lining provides wind resistance but the feel was more of a farm supply hunting jacket...that slightly rubberized polyester feel that usually pills badly. Granted, that may not happen but that's the feel of the lining to me. And the sherpa was shorter and less dense than I like. I exchanged it for their sherpa pullover sweater with a mock turtleneck - not a coat but it sure is fabulous.

A little fitted in the shoulder area. Not super comfy. The polyester material inside seems too stiff. I hope it stretches a little.

I liked the look, but the fleece was lower quality than I'd expected. I ended up returning it for poor fit (sleeves weren't long enough for my 5'9" tall frame) and only okay fleece quality.

Loved the looks of the coat and the length. Sleeves were to tight. What I really did not like at all was the material inside the sleeve, felt spongy and to snug.

Cool coat , tight shoulders. Had to return it due to being pretty small fitting. I ordered my normal size, xl.

I had been eyeing this coat for more than a year and finally decided to make a purchase this year. The style is really cute, but the sleeves and shoulders run small. I normally wear a size XS in LL Bean clothing, but I purchased a size S to have room to layer. I'm 5'6", 118 lbs.
Well, there was no room for layering in the sleeves and shoulders. I then purchased a medium, but the body was way too big, so I returned both coats. What a shame because the coat is well made, and I liked the styling, but the sizing in the sleeves and shoulders needs to be fixed.
