As this is a Christmas present it hasn't been given to her as yet. As a previous LLBean customer I always love the quality and warmth of you winter products.

I walk a few miles almost every morning. This coat is nice and warm even when it is 20 degrees outside. I love the length as it comes halfway to my knees.

Finally, I have a parka that is long enough for my height! The pockets each have two inner pockets, each with a zipper for keeping keys, phone, and credit cards safe. The fabric on the shoulders is more rain repellent and the burgundy color is a nice change from blue or black. I love this parka for its fit and warmth. It's a winner!

Truly a warm coat, not a "wanna be" warm coat. Meant for the icy cold days of winter, not the somewhat cold days of winter. This was a gift for someone who walks and rides a cruiser bile a lot and needed something very warm in our mountainous hamlet in the Cascades.

This is a Christmas present for me, but I couldn't wait to try it out during our recent cold spell.
I spend a lot of time outside and I like to be comfortable, warm and stylish. This coat delivers lightweight warmth with several thoughtful pockets, a hood and adjustment option. The lining is pleasingly soft.
I ordered the burgundy, which looks more like a pinkish/rose color in the catalog. In reality it is a real beautiful burgundy and I was happily surprised. I was worried that I was getting a coat that would look too pink, which I did not want.
The length is great and it is not too bulky. I appreciate the upper pocket inside which in addition to the outside pockets, fits my phone. The coat is like a soft hug...which I think we all could use!

I originally ordered a medium but had to return for a small. But so worth it, keeps me toasty while playing with my kids outside in the snow- and looks great as well!

I've been trying to find a new winter coat for months and finally came across this one. Not only did it feel super comfortable, it didn't suffocate me when I zipped it up. I can wear a thick sweater under this and be happy! It also covers majority of my butt which was what I was looking for. I'm 5'4. You won't regret this purchase!

I was really nervous about ordering the large instead of the XL. I'm generally a size 12-14, but I'm also a weightlifter so I have bigger shoulders and biceps. I usually end up being disappointed when things don't fit right across my back/arms. But this coat was great! Plenty of room to layer over a sweater if I wanted to.

I've been looking for a longer winter coat for a while but because I am short, every long coat goes to my knees or past and looks awful. This one ends right on my thigh. I am glad I ordered XS Regular, SM Regular, and Medium Petite to compare sizes. This coat runs large and I am sticking with the XS. I typically am a medium in jackets so I am surprised to size down but just so happy to have found a well fitting winter coat!

great length coverage, easy to move in with just the right amount of puffiness, keeps out wind, hood very comfortable to wear up or down, cuffs adjustable and sleeves easy to move in, not binding. room for extra layers under coat , but plenty warm as is. i chose burgundy color..very pretty. love this coat

This is my second purchase of this Women's Mountain Classic Parka. After a 50 pound weight loss, my
beautiful coat was too big...I wanted the same coat in my new slimmer size! And I gave the larger coat
to a friend who is on her own weight loss journey and she was very grateful. I am so happy I was able to
get the same coat as it is the best winter coat I have ever owned. And the woman at LLBean who answered my questions about what size to get couldn't have been nicer...a great experience all around!

The quality of the coat is wonderful. I saw it in person in kelp, black, and navy and all three were gorgeous on their own way. The drawstring waist is what ultimately led me to choose this coat over others, as I was looking for a defined waist, and this delivered. The color of the snaps makes it look a little more elevated, which is a nice touch. I tried on the ultrawarm puffer in store along with this one, and the ultrawarm definitely felt more warm, but this one should be plenty fine for daily winter wear in the mid-Atlantic region.
Some sizing advice for petites who, like me, may have an average-size torso/upper body (I rarely wear petite tops) and short legs (always require petite bottoms): I bought the petite small version of this coat first and returned it because the defined waist hit me at the bottom of my rib cage, and it looked and felt weird. The regular small fit perfectly and the sleeves were not too long. The end of the sleeves have a nice fleece lining to them and even if they are a little too long for me, they don't bunch and they don't hang awkwardly over my hand, somehow it magically just works. The regular small coat hits me mid-thigh, whereas the petite was higher on my thigh. As far as size selection goes, I am almost universally in all brands a 6 on top and an 8P on bottom, and the size small worked for me, with no problem zippering or fitting over my hips. Hope these tips help someone!

After returning the winter warmer coat I found this one on a rack. It was the only one and extra small. I usually wear a small but this fit perfectly. It's super warm without feeling bulky and somehow even with down maintains somewhat of a shape. I love the "Bean boot" lace details, buttons and pockets. So thankful I ran into this in store as I doubt I would have ordered it based on pictures here.

Fit was great. Not so tight that I couldn't wear temperature appropriate clothes underneath, but fitted enough that it looked good. Everything I wanted. Would have liked more pockets, but that's a small nitpick.

Light as a feather to wear, warm in subzero weather. I wear medium to heavy weight sweaters underneath without feeling cramped. Longer length is perfect and the 2 lower pockets with zippered inner pocket insure keys etc. don't fall out. Zipper is heavy duty and works smoothly. I would like to have a deeper designed inner left upper pocket to more easily accommodate the larger "plus" size phones and their cases.

I purchased this jacket after returning another larger and longer L.L. Bean coat. I like the length of this jacket because it is easier to manage when getting into the car. I usually wear a size 2X but the coat that I had previously purchased from Bean was too big. This jacket is just slightly small but not enough that I would need to return it. I have only worn this jacket a few times since purchasing it because winter in Southern New England this year has been so mild. The one thing I noticed when wearing it is that the zipper comes snugly up under the chin but if it isn't totally zipped up, it flops wide open and knocks my earrings off! Perhaps the neckline will soften over time. I also wish this jacket had more than 2 pockets. Otherwise it is an A+ !

I've been cold the last few winters, but thanks to this coat those days are behind me. It is warm, it is windproof, it is rain resistant. It is beautiful and fits perfectly. It's the coat of my dreams. I wish I could afford to buy 100 of them and take them all down to the homeless shelter.

A very warm, well fitting coat. I possibly could have gotten a 2x but the 3x is roomy and comfortable. This coat is almost too warm for the warmer winters we are having in NYC, but it is a good coat.

I have been looking for a down parka to replaced an old one. This down parka fit the bill. I like down jackets with a front button. This keeps the wind out. Also the deep pockets keeps my gloves from falling out. The hood is detachable. The parka is fit to form, not too bulky and tight. I really enjoy this down parka. And with the LL Bean name it will last a long while for sure.

This jacket looks exactly like it does in the picture and it fits me very nicely. I would've fit into a medium, but got the large so that I could wear a sweatshirt or heavy sweater underneath it. The material is nice, it doesn't feel too puffy, the coat keeps me very warm (and i am someone who is always cold), and the hood is great (I have had coats that have hoods that are way too big and end up hanging over your face, blocking your vision), You an detach the hood if you'd like. The zipper is metal, which is very important. A lot of jackets have plastic zippers that don't work well and break easily. Overall, I am very happy with the jacket, and compared to other Ll Bean jackets, the price is more affordable without losing quality.

I had reservations about buying online because I couldn't try it on but I decided to take a chance and it was well worth it! I'm shorter (5ft) and carry most of my weight in my mid-section so I was going between two sizes (2x and 3x). Generally, my size varies from store to store and I was nervous about layering and thick sweaters in regards to zipping the coat. Ultimately, I bought this in a 2x and to my pleasant surprise, it fits perfectly! I have enough room for layers and to sit in the coat while zipped. The coat is very light weight but holds all the warmth so it truly is cozy even when it's brutally cold out and it dries wicked fast! I would 100% recommend this jacket and would purchase again!

My daughter tried the petite xxs. It was a touch tight and the sleeves were short.
Reordered it in Misses xxs and bingo Prefect. Wanted black but it was sold out, she got the green is a nice olive color.
