6'2" 230 lbs. I wear a 38 waist from gap for reference. This jacket is very nice and an affordable alternative to a more expensive rugged mens store that rhymes with chuck berry. It's a little too snug for me definitely in the waist and all around slightly too small/short. If your similar stats but slimmer it may work for you. Really wish it would work and in my experience LLs tall sizes add a lot of length.

Love the jacket hate the snaps. Took the jacket to a seamstress who installed a zipper. Now I can easily wear and enjoy this great jacket.

Great around the town jacket, does well in the upper 40 temperatures. The buttons and collar could be better but overall I'm happy with this jacket

I like it, bordering on love it. Warm while still relatively lightweight, this jacket will be enough to take the hound out in the dead of winter. I might still don a parka for walks but everything short of that this will handle. I love the hidden breast pocket and my only complaint is that the buttons can be a little difficult to fasten. It feels like trying to close a ziplock seam in your bedding comforter - just a bit too thin on the pile of the coat. Beefier snaps or a zipper that makes the buttons auxiliary would make this 5 stars but I'm pretty happy with it regardless. Lord, it's soft.

It is true to size. Hard to put sweater or sweatshirt underneath and snap it together.

Overall I am happy with this purchase. Its a nice jacket, light but still warm! The buttons could be a littler stronger, I feel like I have to be very careful when unsnapping the jacket, and wish there was a bottom button on the jacket.

warm, nice style , good colors to choose from, snaps a little hard to snap...a zipper version would be amazing!

Nice jacket but the XXL was too tight when worn over a heavy shirt.

I love the jacket because its warm, light weight and comfortable but the snaps are too small not a tight grip and easily pop. They could've used either a zipper or some bigger heavy-duty snaps and this jacket would've been perfect.

Snug fit in size L. Returned it for an XL which fit perfectly. Warm, comfortable, good looking jacket. However, it has tiny wimpy snaps that are hard to fasten and easily pop open. As a result I had seldom worn the jacket. Customer service was notified of this and the jacket is being returned.

I agree. IT needs a zipper! The snaps don't even stay snapped. I was going to order another because I recked mine. Will wait to see if a zipper model comes out. Please.

bought this jacket becaus of the warmer rating but having trouble with the snaps I have problems with my hands so you really need a jacket with a zipper to late to return it

Snaps too small and difficult to snap, fabric attracts lint.

This is fine if you plan to only wear it open. I ordered my usual size and it's VERY tight when buttoned. And the buttons are hard to snap closed. It's like they are recessed or something. Weird.

Nice Jacket however it needs improvements. Snaps are too short (not tall enough) and come undone easily, but better than other Bean used to use, but not as good as older snaps. Also needs interior pocket. Nice flat nylon outer, like the idea of recycled poly for Sherpa lining. I'll take and get new snaps on it, heavy duty ones, will use leather shop. Like jacket other than snaps and wish it had an interior pocket. LL Bean, please bring back quality snaps from 1990's into 2000's, you sell quality garments, these snaps are not up to your quality standards.

The snaps on this jacket are a joke. They are so small you have to look at each one as you attempt to snap it because you can't match each half by feel. I also think the jacket is cut small.

I wear lots of LL Bean shirts/jackets, all in XL, and they all fit great. But, this XL didn't fit very well. It was just a bit too small. Also, as others have mentioned, the buttons were really, really small, and a bit of a pain to button. I figured I wouldn't wear it and ended up returning it.

Utility Shirt Jacket is on the right track, but needs a zipper. The snaps are too small and insufficient to close the front well enough. Returned the item , but would purchase again if fitted with that needed zipper.

Received this Jacket as a gift and love the size and warmth but the front snaps are useless and will not snap shut.

The jacket arrived in a wide open green shipping bag. There was no protective plastic bag for the jacket inside of the green bag. The jacket was not folded but tossed in the bag. It was wet when I got the package. The jacket fits small in the chest area. The buttons are super small and they are not are not user friendly for people with regular sized fingers.

As many others have already said.... the snaps on this coat are really bad. If you have large fingers and hands, little patience for shoddy workmanship then don't buy this coat. The coat is pretty nice but the snaps ruin the effectiveness in achieving warm results in the snaps never lining up right to snap correctly. The snaps are equal to what you would see on a 2 year old child's clothing. Whom ever outsourced this coat to vendors performed no service to LL Bean or its customers who expect and deserve better.

In the given picture you can't see that the coat has no zipper. I has over sized buttons. I'll never shop over the web.
