This is a very thin base layer, thinner than other Smartwool 1/4 zips in the past. But I like it this way and will wear it often.

I'm a wimp about the cold- and this is THE ONLY BASE LAYER I trust. And I have tried SOOOO many. You will definitely be pleased. Super great quality and longlasting.

I wear this in mornings and evenings right now to chase away the late summer/early fall chill. Roomy enough to layer as we move into winter.

Perfection! My husband and I live in this shirt because it's not too hot and not too cool it's just right living and working at 10,000 elevation. I like it to run a bit longer on me and get a L but a medium would work too. My only grip is why not in purple yet!

Perfect for late summer nights and moving into fall. Traveled to Iceland with it and wore it for running, hiking and evenings at the camper.

I love these tops. I reach for them for going out during the day to back country skiing. Absolutely love the weight and styling.

This colorul top is perfect for the Pacific NW! It's warm for the cooler times of day, super comfortable, not bulky, will go well under a vest or jacket great to wear with pants or my Smartwool quilted hiking skirt!

I think that the other smartwool products I have that were made in Vietnam were better quality. The ones I just bought were made in china and not the same.

Perfect weight for those of us who can feel a bit chilled before and after a long hike in the mountains or on a spring ski day, but light enough still to not overheat us during these activities.

I have a couple of these and wanted one in black, because I were them under my regular clothes besides skiing. I like the 150 weight for daily wear. This works well with my Smart wool ski sweaters also,

This quarter zip is the perfect comfy layer for inside in cold weather temps and perfect for outside in warm weather winter temps. I love the feel of these base layers and they are easy care in the washing machine!

Smartwool has been my go-to as a layering system for outoor activities. The quarter-zips are my favorite to adjust a bit more / vent based on temperature.

I . Love the color and I even have boots and a vest to match. I like to walk on the beach at sunrise and it's often very chilly and this is the perfect first layer

Bought the large so it's more of an outer layer vs base layer ... what I wanted. It's thin, but warm, versatile and lovely color. I know from the other Smartwool tops I have that this product will last, does not get stinky and when on sale it's the best buy going.

I bought a large as I didn't want it form fitting. It is light weight since it's a base layer but I'm finding it perfect as a layer over a t-shirt or will be good come winter to be 2nd layer over my base layers when xc skiing or snowshoeing in Maine (where I live). Nice quality, long zipper to allow for good venting, sleeves are good length too. Soft, warm, yet breathes wonderfully. There's nothing better than wool and when you can get it on sale that's the best!!

Everything is perfect! (unusual for me). Fit is for a female, no extra bulky material, but it's not skin tight.
Lightweight, warm, washes well.
I now have two colors. The wine color is lovely!

So soft and warm and cozy. I even got to use it on a cool morning last weekend and it was perfect. Even as the day warmed up- I was comfortable. I love my Smart Wool Merino wool tops- perfect for so many situations. Lifetime wardrobe piece!

I have this item in khaki color, I love it so much that I purchased one in dark blue. Although it is advertised as a base layer, I wear it over a cotton medium-weight shirt, a perfect combo for me. It is lightweight, breathable, non-scratchy (I'm allergic to most wool against my skin) and warm. I rarely overheat wearing it, and it is not bulky, so it is easy to layer on top of it. My synthetic garments can't compete in terms of warmth, non-bulkiness, and non-oder absorption. I also love the look of wool, very classy.

I got one of these shirts over a decade ago and wear it all the time so thought I'd expand my range. These are my go to tops to put on.

Honestly obsessed with this. It's a replacement for another Merino base layer I've had for nearly 10 years and have to replace because I've worn it threadbare. This one from Smartwool is thicker but still thin enough to layer, and I have worn it for days in a row at this point. Awesome. Perfect. I'm keeping the old one for those warmer days that don't need as much layering, but this one is exactly what I need for the cold snap we're experiencing right now.
