I purchased this sweater for my dad for this past Christmas. He liked it alot and thought the quality of the merino wool was quite soft and warm. He also liked the suede detailing at the zipper. This was purchased with free holiday shopping promotion - another great bonus that LL Bean offers.

This is a subtle zip-up sweater vest that can be worn casually under a jacket for extra warmth. The brown vest with brown trim is especially nice. It hasn't been washed yet so received four stars; up to that point we're pleased, however.

This vest looks and feels good; I like the fit. Perfect for the office. Good for layering too, keeping in mind it never gets too cold in California.

great outdoor vest for work or casual wear. superior materails and cut. here in MN we appreciate this item for those days when a jacket is not enough

I've been looking for a versatile, well-made sweater vest to support my cubicle comfort requirement. This Waterfowl Sweater Vest definitely fills the bill (sorry, duck pun intended). It fits perfectly over a shirt, is not too tight, and looks really good on me, according to both my wife and colleagues! (I'm not their boss, so it must be true!)

This is a real nice warm vest. I bought it for my husband. He just has to hold the inside from getting caught in zipper. Just takes an extra second to zip.

I purchased the Waterfolw Sweater Vest as a Christmas gift for my 81 year old father. We live in Los Angeles, and though we don't have snow - it does get cold. The vest is a perfect option for him, and fits nicely over a long sleeved shirt. Very casual - but clean looking, great quality! I purchased the navy, and was pleasantly surprised by the nice yarn color against the brown ultra suede color and zipper trim. The only dig is that the collar is a bit stiff and bothers him, so he turns it down so it isn't rubbing against his neck. Hopefully, with wear, it will soften up a bit. All-in-all, I'm happy with the selection - though I felt the item was priced a bit high.

I was happy to see LL had this item. Nice fit & finish and a pleasant change from the polar fleece that I seem to wrap myself in when the mercury drops. The sweater features a strong zipper, generous handwarmer pockets and sharp looking suede collar. The only down side is that after only 2 wearings pilling has started on the lower front. This happened to the last LL Sweater Vest I purchased as well / different model. I only hope (as the other model) that after one season that it is not relegated to knocking about the house or with jeans only. Great product with the exception of the pilling problem. Even with the pilling I will most likely add one more to my personal inventory without expectations.

That zipper! Always difficult to get it connected. An improved zipper that is not always a hunt to slide one side into the other would make a world of difference. Otherwise super color, fabric, style & construction.

Purchased for my elderly father. He loved it, but the zipper is difficult, and was for me as well. It's hidden under fabric and too difficult to start. We were very sad to have to return this beautiful, nicely made, warm vest.

I like it except for its size. A little too big for a medium vest.

Pretty much as expected except for the pockets. Not a fan of pockets on a sweater and would not have ordered it if I had caught that.

I am elergic to wool. The collar liner is a life saver. It keeps the wool from my neck. And above all it keeps me warm, ( at 87 years old.)

Sweater vest seems very well constructed, true to size, could wear to office, work area, etc. the zipper on mine does not mesh properly - I'm still patiently working with it. Very versatile & handsome vest.

Neck too big, wool like to shrink when you get it wet. This thing was huge. Hard to find a good fit I should order 3 sizes and send 2 back

The vest fit very well. Overall I am pleased with it. The one issue I have with it, is the zipper came apart where it is attached at the bottom after about a week. After I had it resewn it works great.

Still to warm in Indiana to wear it. Looks great. Fits great.

Seems well made. Runs small. Will have to lose weight to wear the 3xl despite the size guide info provided on the website.

I don't get it. How does a company like this not know how to spec a medium sweater vest. It's very nice, but I am sending it back. So frustrating.

My husband already had 3 of the long sleeve version of this neat vest. It is beautiful, fit perfectly and color and design are terrific. The only problem was a hole in the pocket of the left side at the seam. No problem, I easily sewed it closed...all is well. You asked and I answered. Thanks for all of your fine products. The vest is as expected: quality fabric which will keep my 97 year old Father-In-Law warm. I thought a vest with zipper would be easier for him to close vs. one with buttons. That said the zipper is garbage. Before I wrapped this for Christmas, I removed it from the plastic bag and unzipped it. It was a struggle for me to zip it up again--took me at least 10 minutes to make the zipper function (had to done my glasses). There's no way my FIL will be able to do this. When I finally did, I could not zip it up to the collar. No way for the zipper to pass the seam at the collar. Given the delays in shipping this year, I opted to gift it to him anyway. He will have to wear it open. Poor quality control/design LL Bean.

I really want this sweater vest. I've been looking a long time for one. Unfortunately it doesn't not come in tall sizes.

Nice quality product, but poor fut. I have a long torso for my height, and often have some trouble with things being too short in the body. I liked the color but the fit was wrong for me...

It looks good and is in good quality. It wears comfortably except the collar which feels awkward around the neck - too short to fold down, yet too high to let it stand.

This zipper is too difficult to engage because the fabric surrounds it too much. the zipper is too small. I have solved this by only unzipping 95 % and then taking it off like a sweater. Otherwise I think the fabric on the male side of the zipper will tear,rip or look awful after a winters use.
