Excellent sweater, well worth the cost. I own 4 of them and love them. They durable to the T no wonder they've Been around for so many years.

picked this up late September 2011. Just had the chance to wear it. Super warm, had a really thin base layer underneath and totally kept the heat all day.

Son really likes the sweater. I purchased the open button neck, a different design and type for him.

This is one nice sweater. Makes me look forward to frigid days in the cold of winter.

This is a great article of clothing that is made of Merino Wool. I bought them in Black and Deep Woods Green Heather. They are very durable and will provide great warmth and they look really nice.

I love this sweater! It's heavy, warm and durable. Very well-made. On a raw day, I feel like I'm wearing a cozy sleeping bag. I was glad to have it hiking in damp, blustery Icelandic weather. The sweater looks and wears like something someone would wear on the water in Scotland. It was still a little oily and smelled of wool when I got it, so it repelled all but hard or prolonged rain. Because of its "rawness" and heavy duty nature, you can brush most dirt off after it dries. I was sad to eventually have to dry-clean my sweater after a year; it lost that fresh-off-the-sheep smell and a little of its water resistance. As another reviewer noted, this sweater's a little scratchy but you'd always wear a shirt underneath it anyway - unless you keep your thermostat < 68, it's an outdoor sweater. You can wear it in lieu of a coat probably into the low 50s or high 40s. It's not dressy and looks best with jeans or other rugged pants. The elbow patches are good protection against wear.

So much so, I bought the same in non-Henley. Bean has great basic stuff. I like stuff.

I sent this sweater to my son-in-law in CO. He has worn it to work and to shovel out after blizzards and just to hang out on extra chilly days. It fits under a jacket without extra bulk. I've gotten several rounds of thanks.

I bought this to replace some older wool sweaters I owned. This fits well and seems true to size. It's very warm and makes a great layer for spending time outdoors. The shoulder and elbow patches protect the critical wear areas of the sweater. It's well made and looks good.

these are wonderful sweaters; I have three of them. Not baggy, plenty warm. I had to send back a recent order, though, when "Deep Forest Green" turned out to be a sort of military drab green-yellow.

Sweater is extremely warm-- can be uncomfortable in an already warm area. It looks very good, very military with nicely reinforced shoulders and elbows. The fit is very close to the body, which I appreciate.

This is the second of these sweaters I have purchased. It is extremely comfortable and very warm. I travel a lot to the East from the West, and this is perfect for the Chill of the Winter. It looks great for business Casual dress.

The Commando Sweater is a terrific sweater. It is 100% wool, very thick and warm. It is attractively styled and the shoulder and elbow patches are not only practical, but quite dashing. This is a sweater with character, ready for an adventure.

I bought this sweater for my husband and he couldn't be cuter in it. The fit is perfect, the color gorgeous, and I was completely pleased with it. The weight is ideal for our winter weather here in Virginia, so thanks for another great product which was impossible to find locally.

Great product. Heavy and durable, it is good for any outdoor cold weather sports. Works great as an insulation layer. The wool is high quality and warm. The sweater is form fitting just what you would expect from a military style garment. It is highly recommended.

Very well-made commando style sweater. I bought the regular sweater in black, blue and tan, and later wanted the green too, but it was sold out. I was able to order the Henley style in green and have the black on back order. The green Henley is really cool looking and fits very well. I am 5 feet six inches and weigh 165 lbs and the large fits me perfectly. Looks good with my brown leather jacket.

Superior product to current offerings elsewhere - this is a REAL MAN's sweater, with the right kind of make, look, feel and durability that a REAL MAN's sweater should have. Liked it so much from the online description that I ordered in two colors - and I regret not ordering all the colors...yet!

This is the third color I have purchased of this sweater. My husband loves them - they are warm and look great. It is wool so don't throw it in the dryer or YOU may have a new sweater.. I have purchased other ribbed sweaters from department stores but none even come close to these. A really good value.

Fits great, comfortable and good-looking. This is the classic military-style Henley, and has all the LLBean Quality you'd expect.

I bought this sweater as a gift for my husband who's always cold. When he saw it for the first time he loved the fact that it felt fairly light but when he put it on and wore it in the basement to play guitar in and really loved it. It wasn't bulky but very warm and very soft to the touch. He keeps rubbing his hands over it, he can't believe he actually own something so luxurious to feel.

I just recieved this sweater today. The construction is top notch and the fit is right on. My regular size is a 46/48 which would have made me an XL i ordered XXL because i like a little more room and this fit fantastic. The temp her today is around 32 deg. I wore just the sweater with a t shirt underneath when I walked out to the smoke shop on the Res. It is around a two mile walk. I started off a little cool and wound up very good and warm. so I conclude this sweater is a very good insulating layer. This would probably be dressing too light for many folks who have a lower energy level. I will be ordering another of these sweaters next month. By the way Please never change the color.
