Purchased this sweater a couple weeks ago and have found it very comfortable. Some people have mentioned that the wool is scratchy next to your skin. I haven't found that. I'm 6' 3" weight 190 and normally wear a large tall. Purchased the XL tall as the LG felt tight.

Love this sweater very warm and comfortable great addition to my duck hunting gear.

Good hunting sweater, can be a good dress sweater as well.

My husband loves this sweater. It looks great on him. It does run a bit slim through the torso, but a great sweater.

I had first order a X-Large it was too tight my fault I returned it and they promptly shipped a XX-Large but the sweater had a pull in it so I called LL Bean they could not have been nicer they next day air mailed me anther one and it is well worth the money . This Men's Commando Sweater is a beautiful sweater that will outlast me. And their Customer Service is top notch Excellent AAA++++

A GREAT manly looking sweater. I am not the youngest looking man in the crowd but my wife thinks that I look like a "Real Hunk" in this sweater. She loves how it accentuates my shoulders. Perfect esteem builder!!

I like the sweater but it needs to be a little looser i had my wool shirt on and it was a little tight . also ll bean needs to make more clothes in 100 % wool its warmer then 85% wool which sucks now i only buy 100% wool ,i dont wear insulated gloves in the winter only wool gloves from minus 33 liners gloves i wear two pairs,i have wool pants from cabelas years ago that are 100% wool plus 100% wool shirts that i wear deer bowhunting in the winter. that's why i just order a wool vest and coat from stormy Kromer both are 26oz. and last your wool base layers no good they are not thick enough my fleece are twice as warm try making them in heavyweight and polar weight which i have in fleece. try making your wool in 100 % wool with cargo pockets need more 100 % wool clothes.

My fit for LL Bean tops is Med. Tall. For this I bought LT and it fit perfect. So consider one size larger than normal

What a great sweater this is! The fit is almost perfect, could be a little more fitted in the torso below the chest. The wool is tightly woven. The stitching on the patches is good, even and unobtrusive. It looks like it will last a long time. The sweater looks casual, not too dressy and not under-dressed (like a sweatshirt). Just right for most day to day wear. It pairs great with jeans, khakis, gym shoes or a casual leather shoe. You can wear a shirt with a collar under it, or just a t-shirt. I've been wearing it in the early spring weather as my outer most layer. I'll do the same next fall. It should make a great mid-layer in the winter under a field coat or shell.

I ordered an X-large,I'm 42 chest but it seems a bit snug in the shoulders to me.Its nicely constructed,but for me it's heavier than I expected. since it's merino wool,I thought it be of lighter weight,which is important for me as a backpacker.but overall it's a pretty nice pullover sweater.i may have to break itin more I've worn it,several times in 20 degree temps and it's definitely warm.

I purchased this sweater about a week ago. Very nice sweater. 100% wool. Arm patches 100% cotton. I purchased the large size. I am 6'0" and 167 lbs. Slight muscular athletic build. Flat stomach. Waist size 31" in jeans. I bought this sweater to wear with my slim fit Wrangler jeans and my cowboy boots. I will wear this sweater with a collared shirt. The fit is perfect for me with the large. I think a medium would have been too skin tight for me. A large on my frame does not look baggy or huge in size. It looks form fitting, but not skin tight and overly small. Since the waist of my jeans rides high on my waist, I bunch up the sweater to my belt line. The large is perfect in terms of fit for my frame and weight The sweater is well made. The color is a dark brown like a dark chocolate color. Sweater is not really heavy in terms of weight, but it is no ultra thin either. A good in between heft. The sleeves are long if I pull it straight down. Cuffs hit my knuckles. Just push it up 2 inches to my wrist. Sweaters don't look good anyway all the way smoothed out to their full length. Bunching the sweater on the cuffs and length to waist looks good in my opinion. Would I purchase again? Definitely. Good quality. No smell to the sweater. Nothing to complain about. 5 stars all the way around
