Several reviewers have mentioned that the shoes are made shorter than the standard USA size. The standard width is correct.
I've worn a size 13 for over 40 years and usually they're just slightly too long. With these shoes, the tip of my toe was pushing on the end of the shoe so much that I'm sure my feet would hurt if i yried to wear tgem.
I sent the 13's back (at a loss of $6.50) for exchange for size 14. The 13s are about 5he same length as I've experienced with a std 13. However, the width of the 14s are slightly too wide.
It's a shame 1st that the shoes are not made according to standard sizes. Secondly, L. L. Bean makes us pay $6.50 for they're poor compliance to industry wide standards

I even ordered the next size up and it was still too tight. The material is great. It's a really well made shoe. It just doesn't fit my foot.

I wanted to like these but they ran small. And one was 1/2 size smaller than the other. I had to send them back.

Toe boxes pinched both big toes, even though length was correct. I would have appreciated a cash refund rather than a merchandise credit.

Fit was perfect, I loved the styling, cushioning just about everything except the weight. HOLY SMOKES were these heavy! I guess I'm just not used to heavier shoes, but after wearing them all day, I could feel it. Too bad I couldn't send them back or exchange them, but that's on me. I should've listened to the reviews that said these were heavy.

This Shoe looks great and is well constructed. Unfortunately, they were too tight in the laces. Usually, llbean shoes fit me perfectly. I had to send them back.

I bought these on 12/22/21. I wear them hiking. I am not a heavy hiker. The place where the right sole attaches to the upper shoe has come undone. I tried using Gorilla Glue to repair the problem, letting it sit for 24 hours with tape to hold it in place. The sole separated again after several hikes. I'm very disappointed. Any suggestions on how to repair this problem? Tried to add a photo but doesn't seem to have been uploaded.

They look great, but aren't very comfortable. Hoping they will break-in over time.

We purchased these for our son and he loved how they looked, but unfortunately he complains they hurt his feet. I figured we would give it time for them to be broken in, but he still says they are heavy and uncomfortable for hiking and no longer wears them.

LL Bean took my order for size 11.5, then cancelled the order 2+ hours later saying that size was not in stock. That should have been known by Bean BEFORE accepting & initiating the order.
Bean did not offer any assistance at all.
I called later & asked if size 11 was available. Rep said yes & processed this order. Order received, but were too small. I returned the size 11, having to pay $6.50 S&H fee.
I sent an email to Bean Customer Service asking if Bean was going to place another order, and when new inventory might arrive . . . I did NOT receive a response!

I normally wear 11.5 and these were still extremely tight in 12. It's too bad there aren't more half sizes available. Also a bummer that shipping is not free for returns.

These shoes are heavy to wear, and unfortunately poorly made. The inside seam is bulky and does not fold neatly on top of your foot, and hurt your foot. I had in the past bought several LL Bean hiking shoes, but none were so poorly made. The difference is clearly visible when looking inside the shoes: noe have a thick folding line in the inside of the shoe, and they are very confortable. This is not the case of these shoes. Why the inside design was changed is not clear. But the result is that they are too painful to use.
I was hoping that after wearing them awhile, I could use them, but this proved to be not the case. These are terrible hiking shoes.

The shoe was advertised as waterproof but wasn't. Walking through wet grass resulted in wet feet.

I where size 11.5 in my shoes so that's what I ordered and received. They were too small so I returned them in exchange for a size 12. The new ones came the left shoe was perfect. The right shoe was defective. It had ridges molded into the toe area which took up the toe room only in the right shoe. I returned that pair to exchange for another. The third pair was exactly like the second. The right shoe was defective and unwearable. I actually believe it may have been the same pair that I returned. I was extremely disappointed and discouraged with L L Bean.
This is poor quality control and poor customer service. I have purchased a lot of goods from Bean and never had issues like this.
I returned the third pair for a refund and as of today I have heard nothing. I returned them 13 days ago.

Beautiful design so 5 stars for the "look" but just not wide enough for a wide foot so it was very disappointing.

We ordered these shoes online & it came after two month as it was back order. One show was scuffed so we returned it. Looks like they sent us the seconds.
