I have trouble finding a shoe that is comfortable. I'm a bit flat footed so many D width shoes squeeze my feet and are painful. These happen to come in E width. What a huge difference. I normally wouldn't buy a shoe through a catalog but I trust LL Bean with most of my clothes because they're always cut to size perfectly and look as good as they do in the catalog. These shoes look really good, especially while wearing a pair of jeans or corduroys. These are quality shoes and don't be surprised by the compliments.

They look great, a super comfortable fit, very well made. I highly recommend these shoes.

Since I started to have heel pain need to look for a replacement for my boat shoes. This shoe was perfect. The padding in the heel was just what I was looking for. Shoe fit like a glove. Additionally the having the EE width option was all I needed.

I teach high school wood shop and this is my first pair. So far, they are great all day on concrete floors and walking around the school. Tough leather that takes a beating from constant saw dust, kneeling, dropped wood/tools - yet lightweight, comfortable and keeps that shop teacher heritage look.

Bought as a Birthday gift for my Husband. (Haven't given to him yet). While I cannot comment on the comfort, I can say how fantastic looking they are. Will look great with jeans or khakis. Appear to be durable and of excellent quality.

Great looking shoe but most of all this shoe, actually both shoes are very, very comfortable. As much as some sneakers I own!

I have had this shoe for over a year and I love it. It is my favorite casual shoe to wear and it is super comfortable.

Nicely made shoe. Leather sheds water. Will use as work shoe on the farm.

These boots felt big and stiff at first. After a few days of breaking in they now fit fine and are really comfortable. A quality boot worth the money !!

The shoe fit well for a size 12. Very comfortable out of box. It appears to be well made.

The 7 1/2 W fit was just right out of the box. The sole type is what I needed for yard work where tree roots can make for unsteady footing. The color was a bit darker than pictured. Our terrain is variable, mucky to sandy, but tracking indoors has not been a problem. x

I love both my shoe purchases. I returned them immediately because they were too small. That was my fault. I reordered the next up size and they are great. Shhhh we are getting my wife the slipper boots for her birthday

Love them. Sturdy but now heavy or stiff. I often need a wide size, but not with this shoe.

It took about a week to break them in, which is expected. I walk 2-3 miles most days, and the shoes are very comfortable

These are very nice shoes. I opened the box like an eager kid getting his first Air Jordan's and slipped my feet right into them without even adjusting the laces. That happens when a shoes fits as in really fits in my size-nine medium. The leather (I love the smell of real leather) was softer than I expected and the interior was smooth against my cotton socks. I bought these shoes for walking and I am not disappointed. While they are not super lightweight, I wasn't plodding along, slapping the pavement at the end of my two-mile jaunt. Do I recommend The Stonington? You bet I do.

Great work and or casual shoe. Fits well wears well. Worn everyday for work and some casual use.
