I wanted something casual but not super dressy. I thought these would be a good look. Unfortunately, they bring my appearance down a notch - like I just got off the work site and did not have time to change shoes. Additionally, they are not very comfortable.

bought these several months ago for my everyday work shoe, soles are already wearing away. One of the soles is coming loose in the back. Also, the in side of the sole is worn out in a spot.

Shoes arrived and the appearance was significantly different from that pictured on the website; instead of a rugged-casual weathered look, the actual shoes were a bright brown with a more bloated, nerdy look. The cream-colored stripe around the sides of the sole looked bright white. Altogether looked rather like clown boat shoes. I won't even try them on and I'm going to return them. C'mon Bean, please make the illustrations on your website more accurate.

Was loving this shoe at first with casual wear during the holidays. Unfortunately...after a few days of walking to my office I experienced painful rubbing of the top side of the shoes on my ankle bones (lateral malleolus). I have no other shoes that do this so they gotta go. Too bad.

I bought these shoes a few weeks ago and the first time I worn them they are rubbing the outer side of my left ankle. Putting insoles seems to help the issue but now I have to have insoles for an already expensive shoe. I ordered two different shoes from the same order and both need insoles for different reasons. I do like the shoe and surprisingly grippy in the snow and every day weather but

Received these as a gift and was very excited for them. Unfortunately, two things absolutely ruin this shoe:
1. The sole is extremely rigid. walking more than a couple hundred yards puts unnecessary stress on my toe joints and balls of my feet.
2. The upper digs into my ankle area, just below the ankle bone. This is more forgiving, because obviously everyone's built different. Unfortunately, this problem doesn't seem to wear in.
These are good looking shoes and they have potential, unfortunately they are more suitable for a showroom shelf than on someone's feet.

They look great but run a whole size too big. Would return for a second time but don't want to pay the shipping fee.

I purchased these shoes from the Ellsworth, Maine LL Bean Outlet while traveling the state a year ago. At first, I found the shoes comfortable. In time, when wet I can hear a squeaking as though water is between the sole layers; then, in no time, the soles became terribly worn. These are not my everyday shoes and for the price I expected them to last
much longer for the amount of time I actually wear them. I do wear other shoes when these are not in use. All attempts to upload photos of the condition of the soles has been unsuccessful. If you would like to see photos, please contact me at the email provided.

The varios layers that make up the sole started separating. When wet, I get a nice squishing sound.

The sides were too high and cut into the outside ankle area, adjusted by adding an insole which fixed the issue, otherwise quite comfortable

Show ran 1/2 a size large - I typically wear a size 10; needed a size 9.5 in this shoe. I returned the shoe 2 weeks ago, I'm still waiting for the refund.

The sole is thick and does not bend, resulting in a clump-clump when walking on noisy surfaces, such as a wood floor. I returned them.
Hmmm - the page where I check my review before submitting it shows 3.5 stars. I hope that represents all the reviews and not just mine. I rate this shoe as two stars.

These shoes are very well built shoes but they are much too narrow for my foot even thought they are described as wide. I was unable to get my left foot in to the shoe and have it be a comfortable fitting shoe. I had to return them.

Ordered in December, wore them from March - August (was winter). Bottoms, of shoes fell apart. Returned.... I'm waiting for response. Pay over $100.00 for shoes, you should expect them to at least last 6 months.

Good looking shoe, nice sole, ordered 9.5, which I always wear, was too wide and long. Sides rubbed my ankle bone on the bottom. Unfortunately had to return.

I bought a pair of these a while back to replace a pair of other shoes that had lasted over 20 year of hard use. I couldn't be more disappointed. These are not comfortable, even with expensive inserts. I can't wear them two days in a row. And since I have wide feet I ordered the wide width but my feet swim around in them even when I'm wearing heavy socks.

These shoes are great looking; however, the interior "box" of the shoe, where one's foot goes, was way too big for my foot. No matter how tight I pulled the laces, it was too loose to walk in. I was disappointed in the fit.

I purchased these shoes based on the description and color advertised in the catalog and on line.
When the shoes arrived they were a different color brown, and did not appear to be the shoe that I ordered. I returned the shoes and ordered another pair, hoping to get the shoes that were advertised. The second pair arrived and they were identical to the pair I returned, very disappointed in LL Bean.
Please be careful if you order these shoes, they are not as they appear !

I wanted to like these shoes, as they are very comfortable, but a little more than a year after buying them, the seam across the toe started to come undone. I tried to return them and try again but was told by a Bean store that I'm beyond the warranty and that it was "normal and tear," even though I've probably worn them 15 or 20 times. I would have expected better from Bean. I am loyal Bean customer and will try a different pair of Bean shoes, without a seam across the toe, and will hope for the best. I think I was just unlucky, but still disappointed.

Paid over $100.00 Wore shoes for 6 months bottoms rotted/worn off. They called about the shoes, said they were worn. (no kidding), and it looks like the left ball of foot was dragging. I didn't know LLbean has podiatrist on their staff. Either way they are not cover. NEVER EVER - buying anything for them AGAIN. Told them what they can do with their shoes
