I have several pairs of altra shoes because they fit my feet perfect and I find them very comfortable. I have wide feet.

I went a half size up as recommended and they fit fantastically. I wore these for the first time on some longer hikes in Olympic national park and they were great! Not a single blister, I felt protected and comfortable the entire time. They are a little hot for summer but that's to be expected with a boot. These are amazing, I have some older lone peak trail runners and these remind me exactly of those!

These boots are amazing!!! I have tried on probably a hundred pairs of boots and none fit right. I wore these for seven miles right out of the box and my feet felt amazing all day!! I'm an Altra fan now!!

I've gone for a few hikes in these boots now and every time I wear them I've wondered where they've been all my life. The zero-drop design helps immensely with my IT band pain post-hike (which I normally get with heeled shoes). These boots are also super roomy in the toe box and have great cushion, both of which make for an incredibly comfortable hike as well. I honestly didn't know hiking shoes could be this painless. I truly love this boot!

Prior review said to buy a half size up: I did and they're perfect. Super lightweight, with comfy soul-bed and ankle support. Be sure to waterproof before wearing. Only neg for me, as I didn't.

I recommend going a full size up.
I'm usually US size 6.5 wide. I have the LP Alpines in 6.5 W and they fit well, but I wear thinner socks with them. I first got the Lone Peak Hiker 2's in 7 W (half a size up), and they were a tad too small, especially because I wear thicker socks for hiking. I got them again in 7.5 W and they're perfect. See pics comparing sz 6.5 Alpines w/ sz 7 Hiker 2's, and sz 7 vs. 7.5 Hiker 2's.
Also, there is no arch support in these. Not an issue for me because I have very high arches and routinely add my own insoles to my shoes. When I removed the original Altra insoles and added my own, the fit was much better, and there was more room in the toebox because my insoles are thinner in the front (I use Superfeet carbon lightweight insoles).
I haven't put many miles on these yet but I have done some short walks on mixed terrain, and they are great so far. They are lightweight, the high tops support my ankles without limiting movement, and they grip the ground well.
Overall would recommend. Just be sure to size up. Thankfully, Altra makes returns super easy.

True to size and feels great overall. My one complaint is I miss the loop on the back for pulling them on. I wear a thin and a thicker (2 pair) of socks when hiking the elastic loop is worthless.

First of all, I love this shoe! It feels so comfortable that I can walk all day with no trouble. The only negative is that it is really difficult for me to get it over my heel when putting it on, even with the sturdy loop pull in the back. I think it would be beneficial to look into incorporating an inside zipper to make putting on and taking off easier. Regardless, I would buy this shoe again in a heartbeat.

Love these boots! I am going on 2 years with too many miles to count on them. I've done 10-12 mile hikes and been fine. I recently went to Canada (BC, Alberta) and hiked glacier trails where the upper loops consisted of walking through creeks where the shoes got wet! They never soaked through to my socks. On the way out it began to rain. We walked 8 miles in rain and my shoes never soaked through. These are not the all water ones just the lone peaks. I was impressed.

Never mind what others are saying. This is shoe is comfortable, easy to put on, light weight, and not hot. The problem with this shoe is that you can feel every rock and stump in the ground with hiking. So a great boot for easy terrain, but your feet will not be happy if you are hiking on stumps and small gravel all day. Would be 6 stars if they made a version of this with a bottom like a sole like a Keen. Please do and call me when you make it!

Color is even worse in person. The shoe felt 1/2 size too short; very disappointing. Had to return.

I love these shoes so much. I bought the brown but they are a strange brown/salmon color. I love the Altra brand for my feet but the styling needs a lot of work. Same with the shoes, unfortunately.

Womens colors are sexist. Confused why the mens brown color is not available in the womens. Hate that I'm forced into buying "girly" colors because my foot is small. I'd love a brown thats not pink!

I hike and trail run several times a week and these are perfect for short and long trips. Super comfy, lots of ankle support! 1 star off bc they were very tight upon arrival, but have since loosened.

It's a great boot, comfortable as all get up. BUT my foot got wet walking through puddles (a bit unavoidable in the spring). I would recommend Altra use Goretex. But for dry hikes these work great.

I wear these on trail walks, hard surface walks, beach walks, etc. Love how they feel. But from moment I first put on, it was a struggle because the back of the boot near heel collapses. I've learned to give myself plenty of time before wearing. No other negative.

As others have commented, these are running smaller than they used to by at least a half size. I have returned the 7.5s I usually wear and will reorder soon in an 8. Still great shoes, just oddly smaller.

This was my fourth time buying Lone Peaks and these fit of this model is way different. They're too short and narrower. I always wear a 10.5 but that didn't fit, so went up to an 11. Unfortunately that still didn't fit as my toes hit the end of the shoe. I didn't want to have to do a third return if the next size up also didn't fit.

the sizing is difficult fit well. I got my normal size 7.5 my toes were squished. I Exchanged for a Size 8 and the Body of the shoe is too wide for my foot and my toes slam into the shoe when I walk.

I have owned many pairs of the All weather Lone Peaks and these are not sized the same at all. I wear a 7 in normal and 8 in athletic shoes. I ordered an 8 and they fit like a true 7.

I received this as a christmas gift and it's a bit small. They are unable to exchange the product for me. I don't recommend buying from online companies that do not have a gift or exchange policy
