What can I say. It's expensive, but it's worth it! This is the finest made and best fitting hard shell money can buy. I love the collar and hood that's connected at a lower point

What a wonderful jacket. Fit's perfectly, comfortable over a T-shirt with room for layering with a sweater without feeling overly full. Perfect to throw over a shirt and tie when dressed up, giving great protection from the elements while carrying itself well in a more formal business environment. Waterproof coverage at it's best! I feel I could tighten down the zippers and hood and walk under a waterfall with confidence. Also, Arcteryx is the best when it comes to customer service and standing behind their products. It may seem on the expensive side, but this is truly one case in which you get what you pay for. I couldn't be happier!

I have no owned the Beta AR for over a year and I could not be happier with it! I've used the jacket for hiking, an entire ski season (apre and off piste) and around town and it has been perfect for all activities. I was hesitant at first due to the price but for the quality I would 100% recommend, after every was the jacket comes out like new.

best shell I have ever had by far. The gore, materials, zippers, are simply superior. It is a little big!! If you're buying for city use only, maybe a size smaller would be better.

Purchased a couple of weeks ago and came in handy for our recent bad weather. Great quality and fit for a person 6ft in height.

I just received this jacket a week or two ago but already can tell you it is a great "All Around" Jacket. We have had the craziest weather on the East Coast this year with Rain one day and a day or two later brutal cold. This jacket has proven itself already re Waterproof, the perfect match with a Alpha AR Mid Layer and that collar....works really well and keeps the wind out.

J'hsitais depuis quelque annes me commander le beta AR. Mon hsitation tait surtout au niveau du prix par rapport toutes les possibilits sur le March. Je suis 100% satisfait et mes attente taient hautes! Tel que mentionn dans plusieurs commentaires, il est fait grand car, c'est pour faire un systme multi-couche.

I bought the jacket for back country skiing and hiking. Was out already on very wet day and it kept me warm and dry. Pockets allow for easy venting when needed.

Bombproof outer shell. Pro fabric breathes great. Durable and confidence inspiring, relatively light and packable.

A superbly designed jacket, it has everything one needs. A high price point but you get what you pay for, in this an deal product that should (with proper care) last for many many years.

Bought this to phase out an aging Beta LT. The AR provides ample room to layer which is a nice change compared to my LT. Can easily fit my Leaf Cold WX underneath. Jacket is great as an all around piece, and if you plan on wearing it to walk the dog it should suffice for that as well.

Got this jacket a year ago. I do building inspections and need to walk and climb all day in all weather conditions. This jacket always holds up keeping the wind and water out. I got a size up so I can layer different thickness underneath depending on the weather.

Bought the AR around a year ago, this jacket takes everything you can throw at it, it never lets water in no matter how heavy the rain or how long the exposure to it. Wears excellently on its own or even with a big down jacket underneath, it's been up mountains in every weather condition and always excelled, no signs of any wear even after rubbing against rocks or having a heavy pack on for hours. Previously had an LT, which is almost as good, but the more rugged material and drop hood really make a big difference to longevity and practical use.

The Beta AR was my fist Arc piece I purchased. It's been my saving grace for Maine weather. Its the best shell I have ever owned, when layered properly this is the most important piece of my kit. I love the overall size and fit. Pit Zips certainly help expel heat when working outside and removing a layer when needed make this such a valuable piece for me. I was personally a bit hesitant to wash GORETEX however it has helped prolong the lifespan of my jacket. (Just ensure to follow Arcs instructions) This is the 1st piece I grab for all Maine weather even to let the dogs out or for a hike. However for prolonged periods of time the Beta AR doesnt wet out.

Bought this jacket in 2003 and it turned out to be my spring/fall jacket.

I bought the jacket 5 years ago, the Jacket accompanied with me to several times of outdoors atctivies. No matter windy,snowy or rainy day, it can help you overcame both of them and support me to reaching my full potential. I highly recommend the Jacket for you.

I've had this jacket for a year and a half and have been using it as a commuting and hiking jacket in a very rainy country. This thing holds up in wind and wet like an armored tank, I've never been happier with a jacket in my life. Fear rainy days no longer!
