Great protection from rain. Used It twice in a day hike with hours of rain and It keeps me absolutely dry. Thx to ventilation and breathability sweat wont build up, but i have to open the zippers for that.

I love the Arc'teryx Squamish. I have them in various colours now. They're feather light, shower proof and nicely breathable. I wouldn't want to hike through thorny woods but it's still pretty durable. Obviously there's no insulation here but this piece is for summer only. I highly recommend the Squamish.

As our classic Windshell it does what it is designed for very well.
super light weight wind blocker for windy weather, packs super small into its own pocket. Breaths well. Please note this is not waterproof , but windproof as have read some previous reviews people appear disappointed it is not. It has a DWR coating which when it is misty or drizzles for a minute or so it will bead the water but rain it will not keep out, but it is not designed for that.
Mobility is great as the fit is regular to trim with hem draw lock to tighten and keep it close to the body. Layers well with a LS or SS T-shirt or hoody layer underneath.
Washes well and drys very quick the material is not the strongest so if you snag it on a bush ,branch jagged rock you might rip it, but it is not designed to withstand that sort of abuse it does not suffer abrasion if worn with a backpack for a prolonged period so i have no complaints i have two jolder jackets and now i have a hoody and these are great never let me down if you use what they are designed for.
Love the Black Sapphire colour

The best lightweight jacket for hiking. Bought it large enough to fit over a lightweight down jacket. The hood keeps the bugs off my neck.

Really like this. However, i think the comments that this fits large are absolutely out to lunch. I can wear smalls and medium. Based on reviews that it fit large i bought a small; NO way it will work, arms are much to narrow and it does not fit large. Stick true to size on this piece. Now the hassle of returning for a Medium in the color i want.

This jacket is perfect for Spring/Summer season! It's my first Squamish Hoody and I've already purchased a second. I love how lightweight the material is and how small it packs down into my pack. The material is thin and breathable, I use it for hiking, running, and wear it casually as well.

Very good thin jacket. I use it for skitouring on not to cold days and in summer as a windbreaker.

Originally purchased as a souvenir when I visited squamish! Best jacket I've ever had! So light, and very comfortable for my light weather adventures. Wearing it always put a smile on my face!

Super light and packable. A perfect addition for fast and light alpine rock days where a hardshell would be too much.

This wind-shell is absolutely perfect. It is honestly one of the best pieces of equipment I own from Arc. Going for a hike where I might catch a chill on the summit, throw it in the pack. Colder day at the crag, throw it in the back. Gonna be sitting on a belay ledge and want to keep the wind from blowing my warmth away, pack it down into the chest pocket and clip it to the back of my harness.
The weight, packability, durability and versatility are the main reasons to get this jacket. It weighs absolutely nothing. I almost always keep it in my back when going hiking or backpacking. Adding it to my rack is not even noticeable when I have a full rack on. I will always stuff it somewhere in my packs. It has held up to some serious abuse. Have had no issues with rock abrasion or any serious wear on the spots my pack rests on it.
Colder weather, it is perfect to layer over an insulation layer like a proton or fleece. Warmer weather, getting to a summit or hanging on a belay and getting a cool breeze on a sweaty base layer, throwing this on quick keeps the chill off.
The ability to pack it into its own pocket and the carabiner loop is such a nice feature for climbing.
The DWR works enough to keep you dry in a light misting. Doesn't hold up to any serious rain storms, but this jacket isn't meant for those conditions. I will sometimes just grab this jacket and throw it on when it's raining to run to the store.
It's probably my most used piece of gear from Arc'teryx. I have had it for over 2 years now and this jacket has shown no signs of needing to be replaced. Well worth the price.

My go to wind breaker. I actually have 2 now, it fits just right and still has room under for a thicker layer without looking too bulky, or limiting movability.

Before you buy please note that this jacket does NOT have pockets. I recently visited a new Arc'teryx store that opened up in Newport Beach, CA. I was going back and forth between the Atom jacket (one with out the hood) and I was torn between the two. The Atom has more of a fill for warmth. This jacket is perfect just for a quick cover up and but the no pockets was bizarre to me. After looking in the mirror back and forth the reason why I ended up purchasing this was because it felt good, and it was super thin.

Is the perfect jacket for alpine activities. You hardly notice them when climbing; wind and rain are skillfully kept out.

I truly believe this is the best windshell on the market. In the past I have been hesitant with wind shells because it feels like wearing a trash bag in the worst way possible with the fabric sticking to my skin and having very little breathability. The Squamish is highly breathable and slightly stretchy, making it great for days with high output but too much wind to just have a shirt on. The apex cool weather combo has got to be a technical fleece (I like alpha fleeces for their warmth to weight ratio) and this jacket. Highly recommend.

I recently got my hands on the Squamish jacket, and its super nice ! When I need something lightweight that can tackle windy days, this jacket is my go-to.
It's not meant to keep you warm like a heavy coat, but it's perfect for cutting through wind chill. I love how easy it is to pack up and take with me on outdoor adventures without feeling weighed down.
The only downside is I wish it had more pockets. I'm always looking for extra storage space, especially when I'm out and about.
Overall, though, I'm super happy with my Squamish jacket. If you need a reliable windbreaker that won't slow you down, this is it!

Great water and wind resistant shell. It's meant for climbing but works really good for trail running too. Very breathable and lightweight, it's also pretty see through but who cares. I've packed it in my pocket before, this thing compresses really good and weighs less than a wallet. DWR is pretty useless, it's not a rain jacket but it doesn't permeate the material so you'll feel cold with a layer of water but you won't be wet.

Great product and a must own part of a outdoor wear collection
Great for outer layer in almost any conditions and can layer underneath if necessary
Run a bit on the big side.........so can decide on sizing
I prefer to have layer option so went slightly bigger

I've been wearing the jacket for the last few months, and it's been excellent, predominately it's used for running both road and trails . The water repellent fabrics have held out well and is an excellent wind protecting layer for the British winter, also I'm able to wear a couple of layers underneath enabling me to regulate my temperature. It packs down great too, and the ease of it going into it's own pocket, is one less thing to remember or think about.

Fantastic wind break, super light so you don't get too hot, but it's also robust, packs down into nothing.

I was looking for a jacket for running in the winter in southern Ontario. I needed it to be stretchy and wind resistant/proof, and I was between the Squamish, Black Diamond Alpine Start, Rab Borealis and the Arc'teryx Proton Lightweight. I ended up going with the Squamish and I am very glad I did.
So far I have used it in temperatures as low as -5C with windchill and as high as 5C. It has been great at both. I layered a long sleeve shirt underneath (not a thermal baselayer) and only accumulated a little bit of sweat on my 5km runs. I read that this does not breathe at all which I would disagree with. This jacket breathes quite well and I think excels at what I needed it for. I feel that I could likely use it, with layers, down to -15 or -20 no problem at all.
I purchased size large and the fit is definitely trim but still generous in the midsection. I have very broad shoulders (6'1 and 235lbs) but can still layer underneath with a sweater and Atom LT size large, more snugly. The stretch is great. I really like that I can also use it for casual use due to the great fit. The jacket also feels to be great quality material so I am confident it will last.
Overall very happy with this purchase!
