This is my all time most used piece. Every season, every activity, it's the layer I find myself reaching for. Whether stuffed in a running belt, layered over a thin t shirt in the summer or a base layer in the winter, or protecting me at a windy belay, it's simply perfect. The revised version is my second Squamish, and is cut a bit longer in hem length and sleeves than the previous edition. This is nice for ski touring as it keeps the jacket tucked below a pack waist belt. Keep in mind that for shorter folks (I am 5'7"), this runs a bit longer than might be perfect as a pure running shell - for that, I'd look toward the Incendo or Norvan line. But as a daily driver ready for any adventure, the Squamish is the perfect piece. In my experience, it replaces thin soft shells, thick hard-shells, and outer layers equally depending on conditions.

Great fit. Good wind protection and breathability, but also retains some heat vapors for warmth in cold days, packs small enough to hang on a harness. I use this mostly for running, spring ski tours and multipitch climbing. Only con is the high collar can cause abrasions under the chin during longer runs.

I got my Squamish Hoody a few months ago, and it has quickly become my favourite Arc'teryx piece. I use it for a wide range of activities, from hiking and mountain biking to casual wear around town and even as a jacket for going to the gym. This hoody is extremely light yet provides adequate wind protection. The lightweight yet cozy design means it's suitable for a range of temperatures and activities. When mountain biking, it's easy to pack into my hip pack since it compresses down to a small size. However, the thin and breathable material means it may not be warm enough on its own for very cold days, so layering with a warmer midlayer is probably a good idea in frigid temperatures. I honestly have no complaints about this piece. The Squamish Hoody is versatile, comfortable, and highly packable, making it a staple in my wardrobe for travel and adventures. My only note, as mentioned earlier, is the thin material may not provide enough insulation for very cold weather, so wear additional layers on chilly days! Overall, the Squamish Hoody is a fantastic do-everything jacket that I highly recommend for a range of outdoor recreation and casual use. This jacket will remain a favourite in my wardrobe for years to come.

Bought this in size XL as a replacement for my old Patagonia Houdini which has always been bit tight on my shoulders. This fit on this is so much better for my shoulders and chest. However size XL quite big on waist area. I can live with that but there is several centimeters of excess fabric around my body. I guess I could have gone with size L instead but then I would have faced the same problem as with the Houdini (too tight shoulders and chest). Overall I'm pleased with Squamish hoody It worked perfectly on my last multi day hike. Used it as my main outer layer (just a Cormac t-shirt underneath) the whole 9 days on trail. Fabric is in my opinion very wind resistant and breathable enough for hiking. Jacket dries out in no time. However I don't think this fabric performs at it's best when exerting more (running/cycling) I guess it wasn't meant to be. Durability of this jacket remains to be seen. Time will tell how much it can take use and abuse. As size reference I'm 6'3 and 207lbs.

From backcountry skiing, cragging, alpine climbing to getting some drinks this is a layer I can not live without. Just enough to cut wind and give you a little extra layer but still incredibly breathable and stretchy enough it doesn't get in the way. Packs down super small too so never have to make any extra room or exemptions for bringing it with on any activity.

I got the Squamish hoody as a gift as I've been wanting a jacket from here that's a decent price, first impressions were there are no pockets in the jacket except one on my left part of my chest and that it was kinda thin and partially see through, after wearing it I love it it's thin and it's very versatile as if it's 40 degrees outside I'd just throw on a thin hoodie if I'm going to be active or just a normal hoodie and if it's somewhat nice Maybe 50s or 60s and a little windy just a T shirt or a long sleeve and after wearing it with a thin hoodie I was sweating knowing this hoody is see through and thin in 40 degrees with lots of wind. Sometimes I'm a little worried it might tear but we'll see how it goes, overall wish it would have came with some other pockets in the inside or something and some hoodie pockets, love this jacket would recommend if someone's looking for a decent priced item from arcteryx.

Provides no warmth whatsoever- just a heads up. Amazing as a windbreaker, however. I leave it in my backpack so if I have to walk home when the wind picks up/starts raining I can get home dry. It even has the adjustable waistband that you find on snow jackets that allows you to ensure all your layers are protected by the jacket. It also has an adjustable hood should you want it to not let wind/rain past your face.

I had a 2009 Arc'teryx Squamish hoody that needed replaced and so I got the latest version. Pros - Compared to older versions it's a much better cut so less excess fabric flapping about - Packs in to its own pocket in to a better shape. A more packable shape so takes up less room in pack - New design looks better with colour schemes and more tailored fit Cons - Definitely less breathable and less comfort next to skin compared to older fabrics - Older material definitely performs a lot better, the new one has lost some of its performance.

You can say goodbye to getting any warm layers on under this thing. I sized up and its still small. I know its designed for summer use, but it USED to be nice when it had a roomier fit.

Everything good about this jacket except the sizing. Large fit great everywhere except tight at shoulder/under arm so I had to go with XL. Problem is the XL fits great at shoulder/chest but as y ou go down, it is HUGE. Not a trim fit. I have the same issue with the Gamma and Atom line. Their sizing has moved towards men with large mid-sections which the population is moving toward, not the slim or fit people who used to be the majority that buy their products. This has been a recent change I've noticed. I am 5' 8" and 190lb with a athletic build.

Ordered it online. As it is probably the cheapest jacket of the brand so I was honestly not expecting it to be great. I ordered a small one and still looked large. I am 5'4 128 lb( even checking the size chart before purchasing it). Really thin jacket and it does not feel comfortable or nice. Not worth the investment. I ll have to return it unfortunately.

Good windshell and compresses into a small, compact unit when stored in a backpack. Unfortunately with the shrinking of dimensions to the SMALL jacket, the chest/hip doesn't allow for a good fit for someone with bigger glutes, pectorals, and shoulders. I had to size up to the MEDIUM, which the dimensions have not changed, and this is too big for me. I'm stuck in between and it is made worse by the shrinking of the SMALL jacket. I'm not shaped like a toothpick, nor are many people who make a living going up and down mtns.

Ordered jacket for a trip, wanted a light weight shell for light unexpected rain. It's paper thin, see through and not my best purchase. The listing says what it does but be mindful you might want to order a little more sturdy jacket

Why do we have to choose between hand pockets and hoody? I love this thing for 3 season wind shell, biking in cool weather and chill morning with a merino wool long tee underneath. But why, just why, can't we have hand pockets as the jacket version? Even for harness considerations, how difficult will two empty hand pocket make it?

Can you please bring back the old Squamish jacket with no hood just the flat collar? That was so nice! Or if you can make the hood detachable somehow that would be Great.

After couple of year the fabric comes soft and flimsy. Customer didn't know what to respond when I sent it for warranty to be checked. Drop it off quality again.

I bought this for clipping to my harness to put on at the end of a climb and belaying from the top of the crag. I was surprised it was so flimsy, so have been really careful to not wear it actually climbing, but it ripped literally leaning against the rock. It's so flimsy that in any outdoor setting you risk snagging on rocks, tree branches etc. It looks and feels great, and love the pack size, but it's just not fit for any real outdoor activity.

Would be great if it had pockets , is it to save an ounce in the description online . This jacket is not being worn for 100 meter world record attempts, add the extra ounce and put some pockets on these already,
