Just what I wanted - lightweight shoe with a thick hiking sole. Very comfortable. Couldnt be happier.

The GEL-Venture 9 EW do not fit like the GEL-Venture 8. The changes to the sole also make them feel more rigid. I use them to golf in and I prefer the 7s or the 8s over the 9s.

I loved my ASICS Gel-Venture 6s size 14 4E. Because my knees forced me to give up running, they lasted a long time, even with much walking. By the time I was trying to replace them, only Gel-Venture 8s and 9s were available. Unfortunately, the extra wide versions of these have much narrower pointier toe boxes, so I can't wear them.

I bought these during my search for Extra Wide Kayano in my size, which I found out doesn't exist in stores. The Gel-Venture 9 traps a little more heat than I'd like, but even with them on all day my feet do not hurt. I must also mention that they keep you dry. It's worth mentioning that some water had accidentally splashed onto my shoe and it absorbed it right up, did not get to my sock. I'm still going to buy my Kayanos but I'll wait for the new ones on July 1st and get the yellow/black ones.

Jury is still out actually. Too warm for summer running so I put them away until next winter. Stay tuned

Finally, quality and durability back with the Gel-Venture 9 over the 7 & 8.

Excellent shoes! I spent the last four days working on my feet at a PGA golf tournament, wearing my new pair of GEL-VENTURE 9 EXTRA WIDE shoes. I wore them a few times before I went to work to break them in and did not even think about my shoes when I was working. I had major reconstructive surgery on my right ankle many years ago so I need supportive shoes that last. I wear size 14 4E so shoes are not ever easy to find. Before the tournament, I ordered them online from Asics. This is about my fourth pair of Asics and they've all fit me great. I still have the last pair and I wore them on cleanup day. Same comfortable shoes as always.

I was disappointed in the lacesthey seem to be too thin to really stay tied. I purchased sturdier ones at Target. This Venture 9 also seems stiffer than the Venture 8 I purchased last year. I do like the style and colors.

Good show, fits well both length and width. Only complaint would be how about more color selection? I like different colors at times and a lot of designs look awesome but they arent available in the wide widths????

ASICS are my ordered shoe. I wear the G1000 series and love them. My got just isnt used to the kind of support the venture offers. Ill be going back to the 1000.

The shoe is not particularly comfortable, compared to other models I've purchased. The sole is not nearly as soft. Also, it put considerable pressure on my ankle joint. I've purchased other neutral and underpronation shoes, but these ones just don't cut it.

Asics ruined what had been a great line. The Gel Venture 9 is horrible compared to the Venture 8. The Venture 9 is so tight in the same size that I feel like it is a sizing error. I not only feel like I am ON the shoes instead of IN the shoes, but you can see in across the tongue and laces just how much less the 9 wraps your foot. The greater spread on the tongue IS noticeable. It DOES make the shoe feel loose along the ridge. Quite the contradiction to how tight (mis-sized) the shoe feels overall. Look at the overly-stuffed padding at the ankle. The venture 8 has been a great shoe. So much so that I am about to buy 2 more pairs of them just to get away from the venture 9. BTW- the materials on the 9 feel and look cheaper. Looks less like a serious runner's shoe and more like a flashy department store model

They do not fit right and they don't feel comfortable.. when I ordered it said I could order wide but would not let me.

This style was too outdoorsy / hiking for my husband.
