The fit is fine. Not water resistant and the treads are coming off

The toe box is painfully narrow. I got these thinking they would be similar in comfort to the Bondi 8 which was out of my size but they are def not.

The shoes felt very stiff when I first put them on, but thought taking them out a few times would help me get used to it. I ended up only going for a half mile walk. The right shoe made a popping/clicking sound and feeling with each step. I wondered if it's because of the Goretex exterior? The Challengers also feel narrow compared to the Speedgoats, which is what I've been wearing for years. I exchanged for a pair of Goretex Speedgoats! Hopefully they are squishy and silent :)

Comfortable shoe with good running performance on and off trail. However, this shoe is not waterproof. It is water resistant at best. I expect more from a GoreTex shoe. Water seems to be seeping in between the sole and the upper and also via the tongue. Very disappointing.

Although they were good in the beginning, comfy and waterproof, they didn't last long. Must be something with the waterproof material because they got a hole in them within a few months. My other (non waterproof hokas) lasted much longer (and the tread went out on them before the material did).

This is one of my favorite Hoka models. It's not too bouncy and keeps your foot stable. However, due to the waterproof materials used, it looks and fit much bulkier than a regular shoe. I returned and will try other GTX Hoka models.

They were too big. I wear size 8 of challenger but the gtx was too big in the same size. But I may try another size of gtx because I love these shoes!

I am no longer a runner - I walk. I need a sneaker that was waterproof and decent support for my plantar fasciitis. These are great so far. Waiting to see how they hold up in the winter. I no longer trudge around in deep snow so hopefully these will offer enough traction on treated surfaces in the upstate NY winter. I wear size 8 1/2 and they are true to size. I did not like dealing directly with HOKA because for some reason they sent the shoes to an old invalid address & they would nit change it even though I called about that within a hour of ordering. Bean offers the same price so Bean is a better place to purchase from in my opinion.

The shoes were initially less comfortable than my other HOKAs but decided to keep them because they were considered "waterproof" although they were discovered to be not entirely waterproof but were more water resistant than my others. In less than a year the toe box lifted up and the creases became holes in the big and small toe areas. By the time I found the invoice for these on HOKA's site-with the purchase date- the 1year warranty period had expired. Other sport shoe companies provide longer warranties and stand behind their products better. Customer service reps that I spoke with through chats were kind and helpful but were not able to assist due to the over-arching company policy of no consideration for defects outside of the warranty period. Word to the wise, inspect your shoes carefully before the end of the one year period. Very disappointed with these shoes.

Size and fit consistent with other HOKA sneakers that I have. Ordered my usual size in HOKA (8.5) and fit well. Also ordered a half size up (9), based on a comment about the Goretex taking up more room in the footbed, but it was too big. I wear them with an off-the shelf insert for plantar fasciitis that I use with all of my sneakers. Sturdy, good traction for easy level trail walks, water-resistant in wet grass (haven't worn them in a downpour yet).

I purchased this shoe to use on trails in NC. However, the first day wearing them walking on a path with some wet dirt the shoe did not hold the ground, and I was sliding wearing this shoe on small patches of dirt.

Great looking shoe but a little narrow and stiff. My fault for not reading up more on this style. I prefer more plus and lightweight, however, a wide width and a good hike would have made these better for me. Going to give the Bondi 8 a try for my needs.

This is my 11th pair and as always, the best shoe EVER. I have issues with my feet and ever since I bought the first pair, my feet are very appreciative of the comfort I have provided them. I will continue to buy again, and again and again.

Great shoe. I am usually between 8.5 and 9, and the 8.5 fit perfectly.

Not as comfortable as my Hoka Bondi's. Did not like the fit or the stiffness of the gore-tex.

Have several pairs of Hokas, because I’m an avid walker. These are great for the winter. Normally wear a size 8, but sized up in these to a 8 1/2. Mostly so I can wear a thicker sock and also the shoe was a little shorter than my other Hokas.

The toe box was wider than expected. I had a pair of Speedgoat 5 GTX. The Speedgoats fit my width better; I will order a new pair.

Love these shoes -- very supportive of my problematic feet. I have awful bunions and a wide toe box, and even though these aren't in a "wide" fit, they fit my foot very well. They are also very cute; love the bright colors. Highly recommend.

I love the color of these and they are comfortable. I ordered a half size up and am glad I did. These are cushiony but no arch support. I'll probably buy some inserts to put in them.

This was my third pair of HokasClifton's, Biondis and now the Challenger. I couldn't wait for them to come in.then they did, and I put them onand almost immediately something in my knees felt funny. So I took them off and waited for the lock laces and it wasn't so badthinking they were maybe too tight and using the wrong socks. They feel really RIGID. Yesterday, I took the longest walk and I could not wait to get home, and I wanted to chop my left foot off because it hurt so bad. This morning, I put my Biondis on and all is well againwow. Too late to return and it really sucks because I love the new color combo, but I just can't wear these any more.
